After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

"I'd like to say that I'm impressed by the overall quality of the submitted vectors. Everyone did a really good job!
The reason why I voted for these 3 is mainly because I have some personal opinions about certain aspects of vectoring. I always reject the use of Photoshop (because it's not a vectoring program), the use of solid stroked lines (because it looks too generic) and the use of thick black outlines (because it looks like a child's coloring book). Just a personal thing, no offence.
With that said, I narrowed the list down to 8,9,11 and 12 for my votes. Mouton is the unlucky 4th choice, only because I don't dig the style (has nothing to do with quality). So please vote for him if you can't think of a 3rd vote ;)

"I assume AP will get a more refined design (CK's job again?), but the technical stuff looks impressive. I do hope the whole big-picture gallery is going to be optional, because with the amount of categories on AP, I'd be scrolling for ages.I like the threaded comments, although it can get a bit messy, but with the right AP sauce over it, it'll prolly work out fine.

As I searched for a suitable scan to vector for this competition, I found some artwork from Dmyo on my PC and basically fell in love with it right away. I mean, those eyes are just magical (not just this scan in particular, but many in this category). Turns out Dmyo only has 2 accepted wallpapers here on AP, plus the scan didn't feature lots of details and colors that would take an insane amount of time to vector, so I was in business.
As you can see I haven't vectored the scan exactly. What I've done is replace the head with the one in this scan, because I think it looks cuter. I also 'forgot' to vector the left part of the hair, again because I think this looks cuter. And I was lazy. Finally, I fixed the hair color a bit because it was turning out ugly.
The latter change didn't really work out well, since my color profiles got messed up and I got different colors each time I saved as jpg. Took me a day to figure out the right settings, but I'm still not very sure about it, so you might experience some weird overbright colors.
The three hardest parts were the coloring of the hair, the color profile issue, and the pants. The pants have some pattern on them which was rather hard to vector, so I've gone with ridiculously crappy vector work there and just put the transparency really low so you don't notice ^__^.
And yea, that's a wet t-shirt."

I always respect people who make a full-color vector based on a monochrome scan. And you probably win the 'smallest boobs' award xD.

"I think the "pro's only" is a good thing. Especially because the deadline is very soon, you don't want any people to just submit a quick and cheap half-baked vector. The problem is that it's hard to explain who qualifies as "pro". Saying only Community Wallers, Scanners or Senior members are allowed is very inaccurate since most scanners don't know how to vector (unless they submit a vector as scan), not all wallers use vectors and you can become Senior Member without making any scan or wall. And then there's Donating Members such as myself that aren't taken into account (in my case though, I would easily be a Senior Member if I hadn't donated, so I guess I qualify for this compo).I think people will just have to ask themselves "can I produce a vector that is equal in quality to those of known-to-be-experienced vector artists like Akiranyo and Moutonzare?". If not, please move on, if you think you can, be welcome to participate.
Anyway, I'm most worried about the deadline, since vectoring is something that takes a lot of time. And I can't seem to find a suitable scan to vector (either too easy, too hard, too random or in a category with over 5 walls) <_<"
