"Hmmm.. I don't know if it's good that Nintendo is releasing both GC and Wii games at the same time. I mean, it's the same game, but Wii got advanced options, making the GC version inferior, while the Wii version doesn't really show better graphics then GC, while that should be done, looking at the improved technology. Now I know Nintendo chooses gameplay over graphics, but they could have chosen to make Zelda on Wii look much better and release the GC version several months ago.

But hell, this game is gonna rock on both consoles, so I'll be checking Twilight Princess on my Wii for sure."

Scan + Text ≠ wall

"I have to agree the heads of AP made a right decision putting these restrictions on a paper. I'm personally getting tired of all those recolored/reCged scans too, as they could be more usefull in making your own project (less work, lol), but are always copyrighted, while the original scan is not.
With the new rules, I indeed expect less papers, but higher quality. It drives people to explore and test their software to higher limits, which is a good thing. Though, it would be hard for inexperienced designers to develop if all their first submissions are rejected without having the usual replies on it.
I don't know if the decision is also a server issue (many papers take much space and bandwidth), otherwise you might be thinking of some sort of rookie section, seperated from the main pages."

Worst mobo layout from...

"Owww, that sucks buying a bad mobo. I really don't understand the place of certain connections of certain motherboards. In your case, it's really f***ed up with the IDE con. I have good experience with my Asus A8N-Sli (and using S-ATA HDD), but also that motherboard knows some strange connection places. What to think of the front panel audio connection placed at the left (back) side of the board? I nearly get my cables plugged in. Ah well, good luck to you with your mobo!"

"I gave up using Stardock programs. Sure they got pretty cool stuff, like custom pointers and desktop themes, but in fact, all those programs take relatively much of your processor. Resulting in slow boot-up, etc. Besides, as I was using illegal versions ^_^, I got crazy recieving update errors and notifications. So I decided to remove it all and stick with the standard silver XP theme in combination with the windows 3d silver mouse pointers, plus the editable boot-up screen from my ASUS A8N-Sli motherboard."

Fire Emblem

"Nintendo did good introducing the Fire Emblem serie in Europe and VS. I really enjoyed Sacred Stones on GBA and I played some roms of the previous parts. I'm sorry to say, but imo the serie is a little stuck in it's genre and gameplay (which is good, no doubt). I really hope they find a way to spice a Nintendo DS version a bit more, using the double screens and stylus.
For now, I still like Advance Wars a little better because you can start short battles, while FE is one big story."

Nintedo Revolution's New Name.

"Woops, as Nintendo-fan I'm a little late spotting this topic.
Man, I just continue calling the system Revolution, period. It sounds much better then Wii. With a name as Revolution, you can compete with other hardware names like Xbox360 and Playstation3. But Wii.. Damnit Nintendo, it's like you fancy the kiddy image you got since calling codename Dolphin Gamecube (and designing it like that). C'mon, Wii is what a little 2yo child is saying when gliding from a glider. I'm not gonna buy a 'Wii', I want to buy a 'Revolution'.
Or maybe... Nintendo's new system isn't much of a revolution at all, so they had to rename the console to something that represents it a little better. Nintendo, please prove me wrong on the upcoming E3, otherwise you just lost a fan."

Laptops in the classroom

"Burn the books, don't waste any more paper: just 1 laptop for every student is enough. Welcome to the next generation! C'mon, it's so obvious that the development of school is heading this way. Simple DVD software instead of books and 1 laptop at the beginning of your high school. Saves so much money, looking to my present situation on Dutch high school: You have to pay about $1200 a year just for the books! Now, a normal, simple laptop will cost school about $600, as it's bought in massively. The software can be pretty cheap, as it's just a matter of putting your info from the book (which the developers already got on pc) on CD/DVD, which costs about $0,05 a piece. Result: 1x $600 for a laptop and annually about $250 for the software.
Just you wait for the moment all those traditional teachers retire and our new generation takes over. Ah... I'd love the sound of a class full of typing children. "

Anime, Macs, and H264

"VLC owns! I still have no clue why 'standard' programs as WMP can't encode certain movies while a simple program like VLC can. Though, back to your problem: As hjohn06 said, it's all a matter of codecs. With all the different software and codecs around, it's pretty hard to find a good program which will play your anime. It really shouldn't be a matter of OS, as imo, Mac is a pretty good brand for multimedia. Anyway, you could try looking for special codec-packs on the internet which support programs like VLC or Realplayer. Otherwise, you might find a converter or something, to convert a .mp4 to .avi
Where the *** did you get .H264 files anyway? It really doesn't look like a standard filetype to me..."

"The present videocard technologie is better then any game or software program supports. For instance, there are motherboards with Double Sli connections (4 vidcards). The possibilities of such system are endless, but even the best game on highest quality only needs one, maybe two of those cards. Overkill.
No, the perfection of graphics is totally not an issue nowadays, it's just that they (nvidia, ati) want you to believe it is. But for now, I think companies can put their effort in the development of larger storage systems (better graphics takes more space) and faster processors rather then releasing a 'better' videocard every month. "

Some good foreign films

"Well, American films are foreign films for me (Dutch), lol. Though, the last few years only crap, re-makes and sequels are released from Hollywood, so I think you might question if there are foreign alternatives indeed.

Wo Hu Cang Long (Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon) is certainly one of the best (foreign) movies ever. Sword by the Moon is nice too and if you like the genre of asian action-comedy, Bruce Lee- and Jackie Chan movies are always worth seeing. To end the list of Asian movies: Seven Samurai and Ju-on.
Last thing I have to add is the agreement with Lord-Burn about Jean Reno: he's defenitely (one of) the best European actor(s) ever.

Would you run if your killer got a sniper rifle? Not very handy. If your opponent can kill you with his bear hands, what do you disarm? And do you always wear a gun/knife/whatever?

Just keep it real, stay calm, think fast, wait for your enemy to make a mistake, then grab your chance. If that chance never comes, I'm sorry, you'll be dead by now.

For the record, one litre of common gasoline costs about $1,50 here ($5,40 per Gallon)."

High end laptops cost a fortune comparing with desktops with similar specs. Besides, as I said before, laptops aren't easy to upgrade, which makes your 'high-end' portable computer, worth nothing in a few years."

How to pick chicks

"Lol, I'm pretty sure you can hook up with some chick in 8 steps, but the ones described above are only suitable for underaged girls.
Here's the more subtile approach:

#1: Observe the girl, like if she's talking with some friends, you'll get to know her name.
#2: Wait for the friends to leave, then walk to her with a drink and call her name.
#3: At this point, your girl will be a bit paralized from the suprise, which gives you the oppertunity to ask questions. Make sure you're the one questioning, not her.
#4: Ask her if she wants a second drink, get one anyway or let her get you a drink (if she wants to)
#5: With the 2nd drink, settle down and give her time to chat with you. As you did asked basic questions at step 3, she won't ask them to you, that will look stupid. If she does though, proceed to step 8.
#6: Now that you know everything about her, it's time to say goodbye. Do this by meantioning something she would enjoy, like 'I really have to go, finnish that Anime Wallpaper', assuming she likes animepapers.
#7: With you almost leaving, she still didn't catch your name. Trade it with her phone number.
#8: Leave with a smile.

Ok, this version is less fun, but there are lot's of variations to make after knowing her story at step 3 and 5.
