Are video games corrupting your fragile mind?

"As someone who makes games for a living I would like to say that video games have no effect on the people playing them, period. But as I am also a recent graduate from college, I know that video games have a huge effect on people, they just need to learn growing up the limit themselves and not rely on their parents. I know a number of people who dropped out of college because they spent all their time playing video game and not going to class.

All that video games are doing though is showing the true light on the fact that kids are getting spoiled and do not know to separate "fun" time from the rest of their lives and end up going no ware because they were given everything as a kid and never leaned how to limit them selves."

"Personally I use office 2007, but that is only because it came with my college education... I would never pay for a word processor when I can use a perfectly fine open source one, and the open source community has gone a long way in user friendly.

A good example of this is Linux, it has become very user friendly, and is really easy to install and customize you comp with out a lot of know how, it just does it slightly different than windows. Any mac use will be able to use it pretty well as they are both Unix based.

The big thing that keeps people going for things like windows that cost money is that they are used to it. They use it at work and/or they have been using it for years, why go to a different operating system when I know the one I use, even if it gets buggier with every update and version."

"I liked the first season, it had a kinda mysterious feel to me, but ya it needed a bit more story to it. I hope the second season is a back story or has a decent explanation for it all. That said I might have to re-watch it before the second season comes out."

"When they announced it at AX it was awesome, using the Japanese trailer and then at the end saying that it would be coming to America this December. I can not wait to get my hands on this game and play it. HURRAY FOR ATLAS! and their games."

"The only thing I can say about this is that it does not matter to me as long as I have it on mu PS3, where I do not have the constant fear of the red ring of death, instead I have the red right of life on my rock band guitar. And I can not wait for FF Xi to come out, it will be nice to have a FF for my PS3."

"Starcraft 2 will probably sell a lot of units, and I will defiantly be buying it, but I will have to play it and see for my self if it is worthy of the Starcraft title. As a person who still plays the first one on a regular basis I am very bias about my strategy games like starcraft and command & conquer, and a game needs to pass the test of time to be a really great game."

"The thing about anime now is that it has gotten so popular that even if it has only an ok plot, all they have to do is sell it to the investors and the anime fans. This is also seen in games, and the reason is that when something gets popular you will start to see a large number of re-makes or just badly make similar things show up because every one wants in on the money.

I think that their are plenty of good anime coming out, you just have to test the waters and see what ones you like. Though my favorite is still Gundam Wing because it got me into anime."

"I think that this is a very interesting anime. I am on episode 16 I think, not quite sure, and I think it is interesting how they have the story moving forward, it also has a very interesting cast of characters. It may not be the best, but it is very different and that is something that is lacking a lot right now in anime."

"Some thing I noticed is that they have involved a lot of non-gundam related people in the series. Every one that you saw a lot of had a significance, so i wonder where all these people are going to fall into. With the latest episode we have had a lot of possible story line twists appear, and some even happen."

"Actually they mentions that they have a limited time thy can be active, or a lot more limited to the current ones. Adding that with what we have seen so far i would figure is that the red particles are more powerful, but they use more energy (or what ever they use).

Help with submitting scans

"I have read the FAQ on scans and i had a few questions still:
1) If my scans fit the required pixel size but are at 600 pixels/inch (i scanned them at
600dpi on my printer.) do i need to make them a smaller pixels/inch?
2) If i don't need to lower it, does it need to fit the pixels size reqirement at a lower
pixels/inch?
3) What is the maximum size for a submitted scan?
4) As some of the scans i have are multiple pages, it is ok if it still has the crease from
being folded (Came in a magazine and some of them were 4 games long)?

"The game is already out, at least for the PS3. All i can i say is that i can't get enough of the game. Me and my friends have stayed up all night playing it. Its been out for at least a week. All i have to say is get it as soon as possible!"
