This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

"Wacom tablets for me, you can draw lines more naturally and such. I definitly think if you want to draw on the computer you should get a tablet :) it helps out a lot, probally something on a5 size. If you have a friend that has a tablet i do suggest trying it out first. "

"If the background is suppose to be like a starlike background, i suggest to bring more life to it. More starts and different brightness to the stare, etc."

"The Kai doesn't really blend in well with the background, think the problem is that the background is to bright compared to the kai.
Another thing is that the background style and the kai style don't match. You might want to find a good background and vectorize that :)"

"Uhm make a thread and post a link to your wallpaper so people can critique it.

Okay so i am redoing my entire grass thing, because one of the comments i got from the mods that the gras was to naff (whatever that means).

Also redoing the fireflies, and lessening the textures. This wallpaper is still in progress, I am currently testing out new grass brushes. Have a mix of grass brushes here around 5-6 grass brushes incoperated in this image. More tone in the grass now, i think. Still nowhere near what i want from the wallpaper though, but working on it on and off.

And sorry no higher resolutions, unlesss i just redo the entire thing (never intended to make a wallpaper, so i started at 1024)

Like i said work in progress, want to hear some reactions at the "new"grass brushes and such :) i try and use the input here.

ps. Dont worry i still have the other version, but feeling slightly in a experimenting mood."

"The only scan in this picture is uhara, and this image is meant to have scratches and such to give it a more rustic feeling. The image of uhara was cleaned, i overlayed different textures, to give the "sewed" look. Was meant to have a canvas feeling it, like canvas painting but not just quite.

The idea of this image is meant to be moody/dark that is why the limited colour use, but probally right with the grass part. Blur? ...you mean the fog section around the grass? Hmmm i think, i will redo the entire thing and start from scratch."
