Your thoughts on the "Da Vinci Code"

"In my opinion all this media about the controversy of "The Da Vinci" is an overreaction. its tiring to hear about how the movie is a disgrace, but i understand that its fictional. sure its historically accurate but thats just what's behind the story to make it interesting. and sure it states things that goes against religious beliefs but i think that its only bad when someone believes everything in the story that goes against religion. and to me thats the individual's fault for believing it when it's fictional. i mean i can understand it could upset a strong christian, but im neither religious nor am i atheist. so from my view hearing all the information that the book has to offer for the very first time is unbelievable to take in and it doesnt make sense to be angered over it. i mean if you feel that the book just goes against everything that you believe in, then just simply dont read it. i was interested to read about certain things that i havent heard of before, like PHI i looked it up on the internet and it does so exist. its intriguing, its suspenseful, and its an adventure, but also its all made-up, and to be influenced by a book is something i dont think can happen. i just finished reading the book today, and i think that ending of it was appropriate. i dont read a lot as i should cause only a few books can keep my attention and keep me interested. and im looking forward to see the movie."

...are you serious? thats an inhuman and f'ed up way to solve this.
anyways i go to school with many mexicans and latinos and live in an area with a large mexican population. hearing what they have to say compared to what americans have to say really makes it controversal.
first off, some people at my school has pointed out that why is america all of a sudden making it a big issue when they've been coming to america for years and years. if you think about it hispanics tend to reproduce quite a bit, just one of my dominican friends is the oldest of 10 children and his mother is pregnant again. is it because their population is increasing that now its become an issue that this country will be overpopulated by them? thats what they said, but i dont think that should make it a problem since the majority of the students are legal immigrants and got their green card.
if the illegal immigrants took their time to cross the border they should also take the time and to get their citizenship and work to become a citizen just as any other immigrant does, i watch the news and mexicans and other hispanics havent even learned english, which is the primary language in america. they came here to have more freedom and rights? alright they made it through but do they really expect to get more rights and more money and more freedom even when they came here without any proper permission? psh. thats like asking for your allowance when you didnt do your chores. point being, is that its not fair at all for illegal immigrants to be able to stay here on the american land and be treated like an american, when their not even an legal to be here."

"My top choice would probably be going to hawaii. oh yeah. i was going to go with my cousins but my mom wouldnt let me and when they came back they said they had a great time. i would love to go cause of the relaxed atmosphere that hawaii seems to have since its surrounded by the ocean, so it would be nice to go to the calm setting there. plus i would love to go back to visit france, cause i just love the food XD."

Eat your breakfast?

"I dont get how people at my school does skip breakfast and probably half of them does skip lunch too. i mean people who do eat would eat around 6 AM before school and the first lunch is at 10:30 and the 2nd is at 11:50 i mean i wouldnt even be able to survive skipping breakfast and lunch is all the way at 10:30 or let alone skip the whole day without eating. it is unhealthy and i know that, so i eat when i wake up even if im not hungry i know i will be by the time i reach school."

Summer plans

"I honestly cant wait until school is over and i can get more time to sleep. i still dont know what im going to exactly be doing over the summer since i do want to get a job, but i do want to have time to enjoy and spend with my family. so my plans i am sure of is to spend a month over at my dad's and go to the keys with that side of the family and go to amusements parks, and after that month i'll come back home and possibly get a part time job. and devote my time to anime and sleeping since i havent had time for either because of school =_=
but because its predicted that the hurricane season here will be just as harsh as last year my plans might just change. ugh."

"What i fear is being alone. but like what jolynda said other more physical things im not actually afraid of i just dislike them. like puppets and those porcelain dolls i can handle things like holding them, but being in the same room with them at night is just freaky to me since it looks like their staring at you constantly. >.<"

"I know saying smoking is bad for you doesnt help much. but why would you want to smoke [assuming that you're talking about other drugs like marijuana] when you know the possible consequences and you even state it yourself "I don't know if I want to chance adding an addiction to my life, though"? ask youself, what benefits are there with smoking? [None] its your choice really.
but as for me, thats pretty much why i wouldnt even try smoking, i'm aware of the negative effects and i hear all these stories of teens who died just from one puff or swallow of a pill. and i just dont want to end up like that from making the choice of doing drugs."

What do think about a teacher that slap or punch his/her own student?

"I agree that hitting a student is harsh. but i dont think that other solutions such as getting sent to the principal's office or getting a time out is as effective. i mean for an example, if you get hit, you wouldnt want to get hit so you'll find away to avoid it. compare that to getting sent to the principals office and getting time out, those consequences arent a big deal and dont really have the same effect you know. besides that doesnt totally work with some students nowadays, coming from a student, the people in my school DO deserve to get a good smacking seeing how they talk to their teachers and how they behave with school property. at my school we have this thing called the choice program, where if you misbehave then a dean comes and takes you to a room where you have to copy a few pages of the student code of conduct. but what can that do? except make you memorize a few pages of rules. but in my view using that power of hitting a child should be used to a certain extent and only when necessary for situations that are really extreme, and abusing that power is of course not okay. so i guess im okay with giving a good whacking to students, i wouldnt want to do it myself or its not something i want to see. but right now i cant really think of another solution for students who misbehave that would really have an effect on them."

"That sounds a lot like my mom. my parents expect me to get straight A's this past semester i got one B, and after i passed with a final grade in that class with A as well as my other classes, i still got into a little quarrel with my mom cause of that damn B EVEN THOUGH i made A's in my final grade and every other class. my mom would pretty much say, na-uh you should be doing better then this. but i dont let it get to me, since i do my best and the final grades are what matters. and with my dad, when i get a B he doesnt say what my mom says, he knows i do my best, but i know he gets a little disappointed. so basically for me a B or lower is something that my parents wont tolerate."

"I dont like how people have racist views, but i dont really have anything against them themselves since they have their own reasons for what they think about other cultures. and its only their opinion, theres other people who dont think like they do, so i dont really care what racist people think when i have people who like me for who i am and not for where i came from. my dad's side of the family have something against african-americans. since their from the country of guyana and some stuff happened i suppose between them and african americans. but im not like that, and me being part of that side of the family, it sucks since my closest friends are black.
one of my best friends is east indian and our other best friend and me is west indian, and her mom didnt like us cause we're west indian and west indians are supposedly 'badly behaved children' >.> so she didnt want my friend hanging out with us. which is stupid, cause then her mom got to know us and was like oh, their good kids. and so on. so yeah i dont like judging by skin color when i dont even know that person personally."

i totally agree, it should also depend on the type of job, i mean showing your tattoo or piercing is what someone shouldnt have to hide, since it is their own body. but each business is different and has their own standards of professionalism i suppose [if thats a word] so i agree that it should mostly be up to the individual business on whether or not its okay for employees to show their tattoo or piercing"

"I am definitly tired of studying. i come home from school and i just want to sleep. and since one of my teachers goes one lesson after another with notes and more notes, i'd prefer being lazy. this is pretty much my first year studying, considering that i havent studied once throughout middle school, but high school is different, you have to study to understand the materal. >.> but thats what i have to do to keep my grades up."

"Everyone is human, and humans vent their feelings in different ways which includes crying. i saw this one show [The Real World on MTV] and this one guy cried on television about how his mother died. and im just like wow, this show is aired throughout the whole country, not sure about anywhere else, and it must take a lot to cry in front of millions of viewers. so i mean like if it was a woman crying about that it shouldnt be any different than man showing his tears. personally i dont see whats wrong for a man to cry. its a clean and fresh look. the many features, which im still playing with, i think will take some getting used to but is a great addition. but overall its a big upgrade and improvement from the last version and i like it a lot so far."
