After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

"This anime deserves more love. The Duke's son is no less a would-be tyrant than Damya, he's just drawn to be the dashing hero that unifies the kingdom's people under a common banner with his control of the military. It's not like there's really a good end for the kingdom. Even if he's Augustus there's another Damya in the future waiting to turn the Touda against the citizens, and now that Erin's unwrapped the box containing the beasts there's a civil war in its future when someone else manages to replicate her results. Just from turning the country's sword inward, it will only be because The Author Says So that the Duke's legions don't rape and pillage their way through the lands of the golden haired people that looked down upon them for generations. Darker Than Black (Sequel)

"The sequel is okay so far. I'm pretty certain Hei did not know he was killing Yin. It's when he realized it that he snapped out of this funk and told our resident hot blond chic he can't work for her. He even seems to be giving up alcohol and reverting to his old food eating habits. I suspect he had thought Yin already dead, and knowing she's alive has brought him back to life so to speak. Yin seems to be some evolutionary form of a doll. And I think it's pretty obvious that Misaki's 'new organization' is simply the syndicate. I mean, if the anti-contractor device, super secret hush hush nature, and the crazy old doctor from season 1 aren't dead giveaways.. plus having her work for the very organization she had attempted to uncover is too good (if cliche) for the writers to pass up.
The OVAs look great as well. I suppose it could be Amber. Being a time traveler, it's certainly easy to bring her into a plot due to her ability. One thing I've always wondered about her though is how old she was originally when becoming a contractor since she gets younger with each use (I also thought it was interesting that she spent years figuring out the correct path of events in that final battle while the actual event only took.. half an hour?). The thought of her originally being some wrinkly 80 year old woman in love with Hei makes me giggle for some reason." View
Kimi ni Todoke

"Bokura ga Ita, really? I think you need to see more shoujo types. Kimi ni Todoke does get better. It's only in the beginning stage. It's obviously over the top, it's fiction, I expect that (it seems more mean spirited in the anime than manga though). But Sawako is so adorable and shy, yet well-meaning. Someone pointed out in a forum or something that she and Kazehaya are very similar. The difference is how they put themselves out there.
The series revolves solely around relationships between two people. It's so simplistic and doesn't try to become too complicated. It's not just about a relationship between a boy and a girl, but a girl and her newly found friends, a "rival", and to an extent her parents. There's also a good amount of focus on side characters (Chizuru has her own part later) And Sawako and Kazehaya aren't going out yet (Sawako doesn't even realize she likes Kazehaya yet). It's just so refreshing, this series, in lieu of an abundance of crappy shoujo series." View
Atheist?
6 months 2 days ago
"For all intensive purposes I could be called an atheist, the notion of god or any of the other forms of magical thinking strike me as juvenile and delusional. All religions have a human origin. No god wrote anything. Their texts reflect the times in which they were written, including backward views of science and bad history. The morality in the texts reflects some good ideals that most societies have, but also includes treating women as property, slavery, genocide, poor treatment of children, and other unenlightened ideals.
If you look at myths, superstitions, and urban legends, you'll find that people are prone to making up and strongly believing things they want to believe. A comparison to religion shows a similar basis, origin, structure, and evolution over time. And, of course, the only evidence of their claims are emotional hooks, hearsay, hand waving, dubious miracles and vague prophecies. In other words, not much.
Would you like to read my proof that God does not exist? Okay, well if we take the Christian description of God we can say that he is omniscient, omnipotent, omnibenevolent, created everything and either rewards or punishes people based on their actions. All vague enough to be undisputable, yes? Well then allow me to construct a simple reductio ad absurdum proof against the existence of such a being:
Let us assume that God exists. As all matter and energy follow certain laws (which God supposedly created) then it stands to reason that an omniscient being would be capable of knowing the exact state of every particle at any given time as well as the laws by which those particles interact and would therefore be able to predict their future movements with perfect accuracy. Therefore God would have this ability. However God does not merely know the state of every particle at any given time past or future, he is directly responsible for every such state because he created everything. So God is both aware of, and responsible for every event, including all human thoughts and actions, which (like everything else) are necessitated by previous events.
Therefore God would have been responsible when he created the universe for all future 'sins'. So if he punishes anyone for anything, he is punishing them for something that was his own fault. To punish another for one's own actions is of course unfair. And one cannot be both unfair and omnibenevolent, that's a contradiction. Therefore God, as defined by most theistic, does not exist. So there we are. Now I ask you, are you going to renounce your religion now, or have you found a flaw in my proof?

Friendship That Drift Away

"Friendship is all about looking out for each other and helping each other blossom, but relationships which isolate you from friends and family consumes so much of your time and energy that you barely have a moment left for other friends and family, and tend to engulf you to the point that you feel like you are suffocating. Friends who have each other’s best interest at heart know that everybody needs space sometimes, and they are willing to step back and allow you to adjust at your own pace knowing well that this does not mean that the friendship is over, you cannot partner/befriend with someone who does not share your goals and dreams simply because no matter how hard you try, you cannot teach people to care about you. This lack of appreciation for your true self will contaminate your environment and rob you of the ability to be the person you were meant to be, and you tend to move away from these friends. Just my own personal experience!" View
Next step of evolution

"I don't think we are learning to adapt to the environment. We are the only species I think that does the opposite...ie. change the environment for OUR needs rather than changing ourselves to suit the environment...(yes bastards we are). I'd say there are (at least) two possibilities. One is that since the amount of information to swallow is always growing... we'll probably grow bigger brains... and probably end up looking like the typical martian depictions you see in movies LOL.
Another is that we will become cyborgs. I think this is pretty much a certainty. As biotechnology and nanotechnology become more sophisticated, surely we will want to engineer and improve ourselves. And way into the future I think humanity will become way too diverse physically to fit a definition. We already have artificial limbs and organs. At the moment this is out of necessity in case the originals malfunction or are lost. But with better and newer technology... as soon as we can actually IMPROVE upon the originals then only imagination can limit our evolution.
Evolution doesn't necessarily have to be natural... and humans will take matters into their own hands. Bound to happen. Wait and see." View
swine flu...

"There are three possibilities- A biologically engineered virus for a terrorist attack (lol). A biologically engineered virus for population maintenance. A naturally occurring phenomena. People mustn't panic because of the media's hysteria, the only reason there have been so many deaths in Mexico is because of bad health care (Not meant to offend anybody). Viruses have been known to "jump" and transmit genes to one another creating somewhat of a hybrid virus. This may be the case with the Swine flu, being that it is a hybrid of The Avian flu, the Swine Flu, and the seasonal Human flu (sometimes there isn't some grand scheme to it all) this is what happened with the 1918 Spanish Flu Pandemic but the Avian Influenza Virus jumped directly to humans.
The bottom line, no matter what the cause, don't worry so much about it because the majority of the deaths were caused by bad health care, not the flu itself. Hoped I was of some help. Also by the way, the virus is not airborne, people have been spreading it through travel and direct contact." View

I totally agree with you on the "assaulting of my ideas." Initially, that's exactly what I felt when reading tofuguy's response. There are quite a few other people here who have posted their opinion (mangopulp/Fimelspy), and their discernment is in similarity to mine, but my post took the most heat, which made me angry. This is the reason why I delayed replying. I needed to respond in a calm and unbiased manner which I did to the best of my ability, hehe.
@tofuguy & flyleafus
I enjoy reading your "debates" and I think that you both have a solid ideal that seems to work well (good on you both). The odd thing that I've noticed in each of your posts is that you guys have this concept that the opposites has a case of "special pleading." And I really don't see it that way for either of you. You're just two different guys with different "Ideals" (for lack of a better word) so of course neither of you will ever truly reach a common ground. And I don't think that neither one of you is trying to declare a "defeat" either which is why you will constantly have this debate. I think your both trying to make the "other truly understand" without straying from your Ideals one bit. But I personally don't mind it because I like you both and your perception on life. " View

I beg to differ on the "generally to their liking" because did some of them choose to be born that way? (just a general question to think about, an add on to the food for thought if you will) (+pity/sympathy/compassion, are they bad things to exercise toward the disabled?)
I agree with you on this point, " that some people were born with certain disabilities." I'm not experienced in that field so I can't elaborate any further but the "disability" that I was referring to is that of the "mind". I'm very skeptical of people who claim to live in a "delusional" world, because I can do the same thing and convince the norms around that I'm crazy. So no, I do not have any compassion for people who fall into that criteria.
And just for the record, I have experienced odd/questionable situations throughout my life where I've tried to find logical answers for them, and have failed. But I was never hasty to take comfort in the most plausible and illogical answers such as ghosts or supernatural, strange phenomenons. When I think of Ghosts, I imagine a transparent white sheet with two big holes (for eyes) that's just my perception. I've never seen any, but I can introduce you to two fools who has solemnly swore that they have seen this ghost. " View

True. That I was hasty in my response and quick to group all eggs in one basket. And sure, my argument was not a 100% correct and the same can be said for many if not all of us. But I would like to ask you this, what makes you so damn certain that you're correct in your "critical, keen, on point [ FACTS]?" *please use a sarcastic tone while reading that.*
I tried to ignore it, (your arguments and constant badgering of my post/opinion) but it seems that you have no intention on letting it be, so I'm here to settle the score once and for all.
To be quite honest, I have nothing against you or your way of thinking and in fact I sort of admire it. I ask that you apply the same to me as well. You are no more superior to me "in your way of thinking" than I am to you. And please do not kid yourself into thinking that you're because of some fancy College/University degree (or if your in the process of getting one). I have no intention to "nitpick" what I wrote and try to prove just how "right or wrong I was. NONE!

"There's an old joke in the skeptical community that the best way to get rid of ghosts or exorcise demons is to bring in a skeptic because amazingly they never appear when one is around. Also the mind is a wonderful thing that can make reality what ever it feels comfortable with.
Yes. One time, someone said, "don't feel too sorry for folks in the mental institutions. They've created a reality, generally to their liking. On the other hand, standing in the middle of the freeway, "to feel the breeze of the cars going by generally does not lead to a good outcome". Just some food for thought!
I believed in ghosts when I was younger because I wanted to believe in something so fascinating and otherworldly. I did my research. I wanted to see one. I looked and looked and looked. All of the so-called haunted houses I visited were just cool, old spooky buildings. The hauntings seemed to be no more than a backstory to give the place some history and to make it creepier. People tell such stories for the same reasons they go to see horror movies, they like to scare themselves. It gives them a rush.
On top of a lack of positive evidence there is a preponderance of false evidence, hoaxes and the like--that further diminishes the credence that ghosts are in fact real.
After being a true believer, seeking to find confirmation for my beliefs and failing to do so (apply this to RELIGION as well), I was forced to reconsider. After all, if we have no evidence that something exists then how can we say it does exist? Many people are comfortable with saying, "They exist because I just *know* they do." I am not one of those people so, barring evidence to the contrary, I am comfortable with saying there is no such thing as ghosts." View

"I've heard a theory that the Bible is the most useful tool in uniting the world. And in my opinion the Bible consist of mostly nonsense. And any child that has been taught basic critical thinking skills can determine this. It will never unite the world, NEVER. All gods are imaginary. The only "purpose" people have is to live and procreate, and if cooperation enhances this, (which it seems to) then we will cooperate.
The world is slowly being united through exposure to knowledge. The first, most obvious sign, is that at the beginning of the 20th century, there were many countries that were not democracies. Today, almost all countries are, because people have been exposed to the knowledge of the inherent equality of all men and women - something the Bible DENIES! The Bible advocated slavery, despotism, and oppression - from the top, down! Once an individual understands they are as worthy as any other individual, they will refused to be oppressed, and we can plainly see this with the civil rights and feminism movements in our own country.
As more and more people are exposed to facts and knowledge, they will recognize their self-worth, and be capable of elevating their standard of living themselves, and the world will improve as a whole. This has already happened/is happening in China, India, and is starting to happen in other third world nations (Africa, South America.)
The internet, of course, will be the means by which this becomes possible, as it has already connected the world in ways that the Bible and religion could never hope to. History has proven that when a nation has unrestricted access to information, their standard of living improves, internal war, strife and poverty decrease, and they become a better neighbor to the rest of the world.
To the narrow minded Bible-thumpers who thumb down this answer, ask yourselves this... why is it that former third-world nations like China and India have eliminated wide-spread poverty, and are emerging as world leaders? Why is it that all our tech-support lines are handled by India? Why are so many medical students coming out of China and India? Why are all our consumer goods manufactured in China? These countries didn't improve themselves with the Bible or Jesus Christ, they did it by exposing their populations to EDUCATION." View
ESP!!!

"ESP is supported by experimental evidence that is both statistically significant and methodologically sound. "Rosenthal, after considering the possible influence of various flaws upon study outcome, concluded that the overall hit rate of the studies could be estimated to be 33 percent, whereas chance expectancy was 25 percent."
(Link below)
"Using the standards applied to any other area of science, it is concluded that psychic functioning has been well established. The statistical results of the studies examined are far beyond what is expected by chance. Arguments that these results could be due to methodological flaws in the experiments are soundly refuted. Effects of similar magnitude to those found in government-sponsored research at SRI and SAIC have been replicated at a number of laboratories across the world. Such consistency cannot be readily explained by claims of flaws or fraud."
(Link below)
Empathy requires no psychic ability just careful observation and a caring person. If you have ever had a good nurse or doctor and one that wasn't so good you know firsthand who is capable of being empathic.
Deja Vu (link below) can be a misfiring of the brain encoding memory which gives you the sense of being there or having the experience before. That explanation fails when you are able to provide details of rooms you have not yet been in or seen when visiting a new location. In that case ESP, Universal Consciousness, etc. is the more applicable and better fitting explanation.
Telepathy (reading people’s minds) has no true test available. For example if the Amazingly Dishonest Randi thinks of a pink unicorn and you say "you are thinking of a pink unicorn" He will say no I was thinking of a black model T (or some other lie) and there is no evidence that either one of you was correct or incorrect. So you write the information down in order to have something to confirm it and then you have created the possibility of getting the information from the paper rather than the other person's mind.

Second Season announcement

"I thought the whole idea of stirring up a war just to end all other wars was quite cliche, but keep in mind when Gundam 00 began there were also three main powers and those being that of Union, HRL, and AEU. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Celestial Being was created because the three powers were trying to "out-do" each other with the whole orbital elevators thing and so Celestial Being was there for the purpose of unifying all three factions as a whole and making sure that humanity doesn't kill each other because one faction is trying to take over the other. (Sorry, huge run-on sentence.) The whole idea of peace in Gundam 00 was mentioned a lot throughout the second season, mainly that of understanding each other. It does somewhat have a Code Geass ending with the whole thing of making everyone unified by projecting their hate through that one certain thing, i.e The three united factions (now the Earth Sphere Federation) vs. Celestial Being (the supposedly "evil" terrorist organization), and Britannia/Japan/rest of the world vs. Lelouch.
And another thing worth mentioning, even though I've only watched about 50-60% of the whole Gundam franchise, the characters in Gundam 00 somewhat lacked development as compared to the other series of characters that I've watched. I really wish they would have elaborated more on the revival of Hallelujah, and Lockon (Lyle) still seemed somewhat hollow to me even after the season's end. The only character I thought had a bit of development for this season was Tieria (mainly because he went from total asshat in season one to a cool and suave guy in season two, but even then that's sorta pushing it). Obviously Setsuna would have character development since it shows his evolution into an innovator." View

" MrsStrife, I just love all the things you said about Ulquiorra and I agree with you, there were a lot of things that he could have done to hurt Orihime and he never did (without putting her life in danger!), some other things, words and attitudes were very out of character coming from him and some of his words left me thinking a couple of times, maybe he was not in love with her 'yet' but with a little more time he could have done it. Poor Ulquiorra, pity he didn't have the chance to change his ways, I know Kubo said he didn't want romance in his manga, but it would have been very interesting their relationship because you can have romance in a story without it being so explicit.
It would have been interesting the way he could have treated her in the future, *sigh*, the last chapter was so sad and sweet. Ulquiorra's last words and his last thoughts were about her, was it me or in someway he said that she was his heart? (Maybe it was just me lol) don't know how to explain his last thoughts, I know he was thinking about her and how he felt about her, could it be that he recognized in his last moments that he had feelings for her? *Damn Ulquiorra! too late! Do you consider your life to be fair?
7 months 1 week ago
"In reality, there is no sentient, omnipresent, omnipotent supernatural being, supernatural entity or force... therefore all the inequities and misery of the world will always persist, some will have good things happen to them and some not, some will blame the invisible entity but objective reality wins all the time... no matter how hard some try to get that limbic brain of theirs to work... sorry. And why does bad things happen to good people all the time? When the tectonic plates crash into each other causing human calamity, they don't worry about Karma, good and bad, evil and righteousness. Life's paths are made up of random circumstances, some predictable and some not. Most religious people will state that god has a 'bigger' plan for them and humans in general, that we can't know the 'big picture.' Most say there can't be good unless we know or experience the depths of evil.
Is it fair to have predation, disease, deformities, child rape, parasites and evil in the world? If the answer is yes, then with God(s) like that, who need them?" View
Ever get a drawing block?
7 months 1 week ago
"My Father is a fine artist and web developer who also does programming. When he gets a 'creative block' he turns on a game (usually Wow) and puts the work at the 'back of his mind'... frequently it's that 'break' that gives him the 'creative insight' he needs not to simply solve that problem, but usually to get him through to the end of the project before the 'deadline.' I've seen him struggle with a drawing at home, so he'll do something else, just to 'rush back' and finish the drawing (he does drawing as 'fine art' and it's nearly photographic in detail except for the 'fact' that what he's drawing would be 'impossible to find' in nature), so I simply accept this.
So... step away, do something that you like that is 'totally different' without being 'too different' and 'let it cook on the back burner' and your 'creative block' should soon become at most a 'stumbling point' while your 'break' may be just what you need to get over the top and at home sooner and better than if you try to 'force it'." Do you think the base nature of humans is evil/bad?
7 months 3 weeks ago
"Not trying to be rude or anything but to me your question is quite flawed in that you assume humans must have a 'basic nature'. Humans as a whole are to broad in their differences to be grouped as one subtype. A stretched example would be to ask why are most fishes so aggressive. I am referring to sharks as being the aggressors, but not all fish nor all sharks are aggressive.
Humans like all animals exist only to survive, no matter how much humans may think more of themselves. When circumstances arise humans will react in a way to save either themselves, kin, or their own, so long as their species survives. Humans are also driven by animal instincts and as products of nature nothing is prefect mutations do occur. Evil.. is a word created by humans. Only humans can be evil, there are no evil animals or storms or plants, they simply exist. Humans are evil and humans are good, if to be so broad. You can not treat this as an equation, where you add all the good people and all the bad and once compared the higher number reigns.
Evil is not an absoltue negative nor is Good an absolute positive. When compared together humans are both evil and good, therefore they are both, neither and neutral. The soil and the ocean exist together it only depends on where you are looking, and where you are standing. It's basically neither since good and evil are all relative to your subjection." View
The purpose of life?
7 months 3 weeks ago
"I believe that there is a definite "Purpose" that comes along with us and it can be read at the time of our birth - the parentage, the education in the family where born, the facilities available for growth and the situations and homely atmosphere. With the age and education one receives, he or she can think about the Purpose for which he/she has come in this world. Because, if one thinks properly, one starts the life and his/her purpose to understand and play his/her part right from the point he/she left the previous life. Because this life is continuous - never ending, like a stream. Water comes on and flows on to the sea, no end like the waves in the sea. One wave comes and ends, the other is coming and there is no end. Now to know the Purpose of one's life, is easy to know if you just see your thoughts, your likings for those and your efforts made in that direction - your failures and your successes, your encouragements and appreciations from others and criticism from the ones who do not like your taste, your thoughts and your works.
I believe that this is how one can form his/her plan of Purpose and think the of solutions to solve that. But, only those succeed who aim their purpose properly and piece it with the arrow aimed properly and seen with only one eye which is having full concentration and seeing nothing but the aim. Success is sure. But those who are just opposite of all that I have said above, face failure only. They are not sure of their purpose, their aim and their bow and arrow are not aiming the object properly. Most of us are total failures in life because they are not fit for any purpose, they are born only to eat, drink and marry - that is their motive and that is what they do." View
Socially Stigmatized Dialects: Standard English v.s. Common Vernaculars
8 months 1 day ago
"I would like to give a brief explanation about Language Dialects. Languages always have a standard dialect, which is generally made up of whatever is spoken by the greatest number of people who speak that specific language. Dialects are the term for anything that is umbrellaed under a specific language, but has differences in grammar, etc. However, it's not an exact science. Sometimes languages spoken by a small amount of the population (little-known languages, etc) can be referred to as dialects. And although dialects usually share some degree of mutual intelligibility, some of them don't - (ie, certain African dialects are so different that the speakers cannot understand each other) - meaning they should really be considered different languages, but they're not.
The only way you will learn things like the difference between dialects, and where somebody comes from by their dialect, is to study the language group as a whole (and more than likely be familiar with the regions it's used in). You will be able to hear different words or grammar patterns in the person's speech, and then will be able to figure out what dialect they're speaking and/or where they're from. However, this should not be confused with an accent. For instance, standard American English and standard British English are the same language/dialect. A language can have hundreds of dialects, depending on how wide-spread the use of the language is. They've sprung up because of the number of people groups. Rather than a language staying pure, people in certain areas (countries, regions, towns, etc) may unintentionally develop their own terminology or other speech patterns that are different from the standard language.
I suppose a dialect can show somebody's personality, but only if done intentionally. I don't believe a person's character should be judged on how they learned to speak. However, in stories etc. a dialect can give a character a certain feel, even if it's a bit stereotypical. When I attended high school, I spoke pure English, most kids thought it was cool to speak "Ebonics" and please keep in mind that we were... still are, all CANADIANS! American urban style was very influential "still is" I really don't know what the fascination is but this is how most of our "urbanized individuals" choose to communicate and to be completely honest, it sounds RIDICULOUS! Americans and Canadians do not have the same style of speaking the English language, haha (believe me most Americans can always tell if you are Canadian, it's amazing)... in my opinion anyway. I was teased for my non urbanize language amongst other things (I was never considered black enough to be black or white enough to be white.) My parents are considered an interracial couple (and that is another topic that makes me angry but anyway, I will leave that for another day.) It's fine to speak however you like around the people that you are most comfortable with, but in the civil world, it's best that you put it a side if you ever plan on landing yourself a decent JOB! Only one language is spoken there and that is PROPER ENGLISH!" View
How do you like Ichigios newest Hollow Form (Spoilers)
8 months 3 days ago
"I think his new form is frightening and grotesque, but oddly enough I like it. It doesn't really comes as a surprise to me though, I was thinking about all the times that he has transformed, and have noticed a few things that makes perfect sense in his new form. I'm wondering if anyone has noticed something that I have seen a couple of times and replay over and over again, when Ichigo unleash getsuga tensho, there is something roaring like a beast, it happens everything with the black gangetsu and sometime with the white one, it's like the blade zangetsu is a beast shooting roar... That's why I think it's not because Inoue was calling him that's why he has this grotesque transformation, he heard her and he wanted to answer her back but couldn't, maybe his will to fight triggered something and remember the hollow side warned him , if he is about to die and showed a weakness he will appear something like that, I think at that time Ichigo felt weak cause he couldn't stand up then the hollow side took over.
I mean if it was Ichigo doing the rampage on Ulquiorra what 's up with the roar thing? Has ichigo lost his five sense or something. Maybe we will know what 's happened while he was in his conscious mind hearing Inoue 's voice and why he was awaken. Hopefully Lust 5 will cover this, that's what I'm calling it because I don't think there is going to be a new name for this chapter... Lust 5 rampage at the dome!

ALIENS...
8 months 3 days ago
"Considering the vastness of space (it is rather big, in fact space is so big that it makes big look small in comparison) and the number of planets within it, I assume there is life on other planets. I do not however come to the immediate conclusion that it is more advanced then us or less. There is a high probability that there are planets inhabited by only creatures less developed then us, and planets with creatures far superior to us. From this we can conclude that if an intelligent "alien" culture exists on another planet they have evolved completely separately from us. Therefore they would have a completely different set of religious beliefs (if any) and so we can attribute them with fantastical creatures from our own. Aliens are just as real as ghost and you can go as far as saying that maybe the two are one in the same. Ghosts are energy manifestations of human beings. Our brains function on electrical energy. Energy itself can neither be created, nor destroyed. Therefore, after death our brains energy has to go somewhere. I believe Ghosts are that leftover, un-destroyable energy.
Continuing with theory of Aliens (which I strongly believe in), there are untold countless planets in the universe, as I have stated before. Of those, billions are capable of supporting our form of life. It's a mathematical certainty. Of those, how many have actually spawned life that became intelligent in the manner that occurred here on our own Earth? I'm not a gambling person; but the existence of intelligent life besides our own, in the universe, is a sure bet. There's too many planets out there for us to be the only ones. And if you're going to go at it from a religious standpoint, Jesus did say he had other flocks, besides this one. There are scads of references in the bible, that are obviously alien in nature. God created the Universe. Who's to say he did not create others in his own image? The odds of us being alone in this Great Expanse, are slim and none." View
Ulquiorra Schiffer Release Form!
8 months 2 weeks ago

MrsStrife
Katelyn tapped on something that I was thinking keenly about as well. Why did Ulquiorra hide his second power up release form from Aizen? He's one of my top favorite characters, so of course I have high expectations of him, and I would definitely love to believe that he's the strongest. I mean, I find it hard to believe that the power level difference between six and four is that vast. As for Aizen's not knowing about it or at least not seeing it, I find that really intriguing and it kinda makes me believe even more so that he just may be the strongest of the espada (wishful thinking on my part though). It took me a second to get it to process in my head, but the transformation from the reserved, cold, and calm Ulquiorra that the reader first meets to this creature of chaos with what looks like blood dripping from his eyes and enormous hollow hole is pretty intense. I just can't help but think this is extremely detrimental to his well-being, like Kanda's (D. Gray-Man) healing powers. This stage might end up as his downfall - too much power kills those unable to utilize it perfectly.
I second your comment on Ulquiorra, he said that Aizen has never seen him in his second transformation, but that does not mean he hid it from Aizen. Although it is more of a wish, I actually do want Ulquiorra to betray Aizen. Contrary to popular opinion, I for one absolutely love Ulquiorra's second release form. His form embodies quite a lot of western dogmatic envisions of the devil and I must say, they are portrayed quite well with a twist. If anything, I would say that Ulquiorra's physical attributes are that of a sad devil (sketchy on the sad word, but I can't think of any better word).
Instead of lines running down from the eyes and make one think of tears, his second form and perhaps his first as well seems as though his eyes are bleeding. Also, it is interesting to note that his hollow hole shifted from being above the collar joint to the location of the heart (an echo of the heart conversation with Orihime, I must say). The relocated hollow hole, in my opinion, also seems as if it is bleeding.
"So I’m like totally not digging the MP Innovator twist... like at all! It’s like Ribbons just found a trainer for the strategy game called Gundam 00 and used it to instantly max out his unit count to the point where they won’t even fit on the screen. I know he’s supposed to be able to create Innovators, but dear Christ that many. I just hope I never have to see a copy/paste shot like that in anything ever again. Seriously though what kind of a plot twist is this? Even if Ribbons is supposed to be able to create more Innovators this is just so far fetched and they can really do better for a final scenario. Really disappointed. I hope this isn’t what the last few episodes are going to be like, Setsuna just cleaving through wave after wave of Divine Nova’s in whatever MP Suit they get with 0-Raiser. That would just be lame.
Personally I think the type of relationship Marina and Setsuna have was sealed by producer Iketani Hiroomi’s comments in the magazine, and it’s not lovey dovey even though it’s stronger than the first season. Feldt and Setsuna isn’t as clear cut. The flower is suppose to play some part, but it would have flowed better if Marina was the one to give it. Oh well guess we’ll have to wait. " View

I mean, if the anti-contractor device, super secret hush hush nature, and the crazy old doctor from season 1 aren't dead giveaways.. plus having her work for the very organization she had attempted to uncover is too good (if cliche) for the writers to pass up.The OVAs look great as well. The thought of her originally being some wrinkly 80 year old woman in love with Hei makes me giggle for some reason."

It's just so refreshing, this series, in lieu of an abundance of crappy shoujo series."

Just my own personal experience!"View
Next step of evolution
6 months 4 days ago
"I don't think we are learning to adapt to the environment. We are the only species I think that does the opposite...ie. change the environment for OUR needs rather than changing ourselves to suit the environment...(yes bastards we are). I'd say there are (at least) two possibilities. One is that since the amount of information to swallow is always growing... we'll probably grow bigger brains... and probably end up looking like the typical martian depictions you see in movies LOL.Another is that we will become cyborgs.
Wait and see."

swine flu...

Also by the way, the virus is not airborne, people have been spreading it through travel and direct contact."

"@ flyleafusI totally agree with you on the "assaulting of my ideas." Initially, that's exactly what I felt when reading tofuguy's response.
@tofuguy & flyleafus

"I agree with you on this point, " that some people were born with certain disabilities." I'm not experienced in that field so I can't elaborate any further but the "disability" that I was referring to is that of the "mind".

NONE!

Believe in ghosts?

"There's an old joke in the skeptical community that the best way to get rid of ghosts or exorcise demons is to bring in a skeptic because amazingly they never appear when one is around. Also the mind is a wonderful thing that can make reality what ever it feels comfortable with.Yes.
Many people are comfortable with saying, "They exist because I just *know* they do." I am not one of those people so, barring evidence to the contrary, I am comfortable with saying there is no such thing as ghosts."

These countries didn't improve themselves with the Bible or Jesus Christ, they did it by exposing their populations to EDUCATION."

ESP!!!

"ESP is supported by experimental evidence that is both statistically significant and methodologically sound. "Rosenthal, after considering the possible influence of various flaws upon study outcome, concluded that the overall hit rate of the studies could be estimated to be 33 percent, whereas chance expectancy was 25 percent."(Link below)

Obviously Setsuna would have character development since it shows his evolution into an innovator."

Most religious people will state that god has a 'bigger' plan for them and humans in general, that we can't know the 'big picture.' Most say there can't be good unless we know or experience the depths of evil.Is it fair to have predation, disease, deformities, child rape, parasites and evil in the world? If the answer is yes, then with God(s) like that, who need them?"

Ever get a drawing block?

"My Father is a fine artist and web developer who also does programming. When he gets a 'creative block' he turns on a game (usually Wow) and puts the work at the 'back of his mind'... frequently it's that 'break' that gives him the 'creative insight' he needs not to simply solve that problem, but usually to get him through to the end of the project before the 'deadline.' I've seen him struggle with a drawing at home, so he'll do something else, just to 'rush back' and finish the drawing (he does drawing as 'fine art' and it's nearly photographic in detail except for the 'fact' that what he's drawing would be 'impossible to find' in nature), so I simply accept this.So... step away, do something that you like that is 'totally different' without being 'too different' and 'let it cook on the back burner' and your 'creative block' should soon become at most a 'stumbling point' while your 'break' may be just what you need to get over the top and at home sooner and better than if you try to 'force it'."

Do you think the base nature of humans is evil/bad?
7 months 3 weeks ago
"Not trying to be rude or anything but to me your question is quite flawed in that you assume humans must have a 'basic nature'. Humans as a whole are to broad in their differences to be grouped as one subtype. A stretched example would be to ask why are most fishes so aggressive. I am referring to sharks as being the aggressors, but not all fish nor all sharks are aggressive.Humans like all animals exist only to survive, no matter how much humans may think more of themselves.
It's basically neither since good and evil are all relative to your subjection."

Now to know the Purpose of one's life, is easy to know if you just see your thoughts, your likings for those and your efforts made in that direction - your failures and your successes, your encouragements and appreciations from others and criticism from the ones who do not like your taste, your thoughts and your works.I believe that this is how one can form his/her plan of Purpose and think the of solutions to solve that. Most of us are total failures in life because they are not fit for any purpose, they are born only to eat, drink and marry - that is their motive and that is what they do."

And although dialects usually share some degree of mutual intelligibility, some of them don't - (ie, certain African dialects are so different that the speakers cannot understand each other) - meaning they should really be considered different languages, but they're not.The only way you will learn things like the difference between dialects, and where somebody comes from by their dialect, is to study the language group as a whole (and more than likely be familiar with the regions it's used in).
Only one language is spoken there and that is PROPER ENGLISH!"

That's why I think it's not because Inoue was calling him that's why he has this grotesque transformation, he heard her and he wanted to answer her back but couldn't, maybe his will to fight triggered something and remember the hollow side warned him , if he is about to die and showed a weakness he will appear something like that, I think at that time Ichigo felt weak cause he couldn't stand up then the hollow side took over.I mean if it was Ichigo doing the rampage on Ulquiorra what 's up with the roar thing?

I believe Ghosts are that leftover, un-destroyable energy.Continuing with theory of Aliens (which I strongly believe in), there are untold countless planets in the universe, as I have stated before. The odds of us being alone in this Great Expanse, are slim and none."

Ulquiorra Schiffer Release Form!
8 months 2 weeks ago
"I second your comment on Ulquiorra, he said that Aizen has never seen him in his second transformation, but that does not mean he hid it from Aizen.

Second Season announcement

That would just be lame.Personally I think the type of relationship Marina and Setsuna have was sealed by producer Iketani Hiroomi’s comments in the magazine, and it’s not lovey dovey even though it’s stronger than the first season. Feldt and Setsuna isn’t as clear cut. The flower is suppose to play some part, but it would have flowed better if Marina was the one to give it. Oh well guess we’ll have to wait. "
