Does your friends watch anime?

"Only a couple of my friends watch anime. A lot of them think it's just 'cartoons', 'for kids', and 'just Japanese cartoons'. I usually don't discuss anime with those who don't watch it; it'd be a waste and just anger me. I have a strong disliking of those who watch dubs, know little of it, and only watched one or two series... >.>

I tend to get really intense over the things that I'm interested in/like... so I tend to avoid such conversations."

HELP! A few Questions to the experineced

"I'm not as good as many of the wallers here, but these are some things I've learned from my own experience.


1.) I extract the image with the pen tool, zoomed it a lot, but I don't use curves. Instead, I use a lot of straight lines. If it's an anime character, I then use a blending option such as a 1px inner stroke, and mess around with the opacities with a bit, to look like the original image's lines.

3.) With photos, I usually use filters such as... Cut-out, dry brush, and various blurs. Most of the time, when I use stock photos, I use a lot of them. i.e: If I make a sky, I'll use probably 5 different pictures of sky, set on blending options soft light or overlay.

4.) I found that to make the wall fit together, textures are really important. Lighting is also. I'm not sure exactly how everyone does it, but this is what I do. I finish the whole wall, flatten it, and put it into a new file. I then add a layer on top of it, and brush on it with either black or white. I then set the blending options to overlay or soft light. The type of brush you use can really change the mood of the wall you're doing, and helps fit the image and the background together.

With shadows, duplicate the layer you want to have a shadow. On the lower one, fill it with black. Using a variety of transforming tools (perspective, skew, distort, etc.), try to make it match the background. Then, change the opacity, or brush away some of the shadow so it's not a solid black shape. Identify where the lighting is in the picture, and try to make it fit.

"About 41.59GBS. That's more than half of my harddrive (80GB). Which reminds me, I should start burning them onto DVD's... I barely have room for anything else. I partitioned my 80GBS into four 20GB's, and they're all labelled. C, Documents, Anime, and Music. The anime partition is full, and random anime are stuffed into all the other drives... heh... I need a bigger HDD."

I really liked this scan, but I really hate my wall.

I wanted to recreate the part where he talks to all the pilots aboard the Minerva at that... mansion place, where they have dinner.

I did this wall based on a screenshot. I made the fence from scratch, and yes, I know it looks really off. Anyone have experience with this stuff? I need serious help on it. The city was a stock photo of Italy. The sky is a blend of two skies, and if you look closely, you will see a silhouette of a MS and a WS.

What's the best anime series you've watched so far?

"Favourite animes currently airing:

1.) Bleach - who doesn't love bleach? I started watching Bleach anime at first, and got more addicted and read the manga as well. Love the story, plot, everything.

2.) Honey & Clover - definately one of those anime that I will remember. Something about this anime really catches my attention, and I love it from head to toe. Music, characters, story, animation, EVERYTHING. It IS SIMPLY AWESOME. I recommend anyone to try it. I was doubtful when I first watched it, but really, it's GOOD.

3.) Ah! My Goddess - Goddesses = yay.

Favourite anime:

My-HiME could've been good, really. I liked all the episodes, especially the last 2. However, they decided to go easy on the audience and the ending was pretty lame. It was kind of wasted, IMO.

School Rumble is good. The animation is lacking, but I guess the humour makes up for it.

Here goes my Gundam-obsession again, but Zeta Gundam is definately the best Gundam series ever made. "

CDrama, JDrama, KDrama anyone?

I've watched CDrama ever since I was young, being Chinese and all. I've watched it in Hong Kong, and in Canada. I've watched many series, don't know exactly how much, over my whole life. I like the ones dealing with ancient times as well, I wonder if there's a more specific term for it. I'm not sure.

As for JDrama and KDrama, I don't have much experience with. I've watched My Sassy Girl (who hasn't? >.>) and some series that have been dubbed on Chinese channels, but thats about it."

"Looks great! The only thing I don't like is the colour of the blood on the door; it looks too bright, blood should be a bit darker when splattered like that. The blood on her arm doesn't really fit, it doesn't go around the shape of her arm, it looks like flat flood is on a 3D character. I'm not sure if you get what I'm saying, but okay. XD

What annoys you?

"I hate a lot of things.

First of all, I hate people who aren't punctual. I'm a pretty organized person, and I almost always arrive on time - on most occasions, early too. Everyone I know thinks differently, I suppose, as they always arrive late/or whatever.

Second of all, I hate it when people come up with stupid ideas. One particular thing that pisses me off: A bunch of us goes somewhere for lunch. We can't really decide what to get, so we start discussing. Then, some people think, 'Wow, since we're hungry, we should go get some unfillings things, like candy and popsicles and icecream!' Oi. You can go do that, I'd rather go grab some real food.

Then, I also hate girls who act girly. Ok, that was kind of a stupid sentence, but what I mean is when they purposely try to act cute. This is in no way attractive to anyone, or atleast me. It's actually quite the opposite effect; I just pure hate it when girls pretend to be cute.

Girls who are too full of themselves and think that all guys will fall for them.

Oh, yeah, what else? People who waste food. People who take a bite out of something and throw the rest out.

Lastly, racists. Yeah, yeah, everyone including teachers and such say that schools are a positive place to be. Yeah, my ass. I'm from Hong Kong, and been living in Canada since I was 3. The amount of racism I witness, and undergo is utterly annoying. When someone of another race is racist to you, I guess it really changes something in you; and I guess I have gotten racist as well. Though ironic, I do have to admit it. The earlier years when I was still struggling with English was utter hell on me, and I'll never forget the stuff that happened.

On a lighter note, insects annoy me. They crawl on your food and you can't decide what to do with it next; eat it? Oh, and people who use the wrong word annoys me. 'Their' 'There' 'They're' just annoy me for some reason, as well as 'to', 'too', and 'two'. =__=

"I don't see why there's so much hype about this series, honestly. I'm a huge mecha fan myself, but somehow huge robots on surfboards battling somehow doesn't really do it for me; I don't find it interesting. Renton is always quite the whiner, and for that age, it barely seems suitable. Not only that, but I don't find the artwork on the characters aboard the Gekko-Go that attractive, either. Having said that, I guess the story starts getting good at episode 5, or that's when I finally started looking forward to what's happening. I love the opening and ending music. Overall, Eureka7 isn't bad, but I don't think it is as good as many people say. (Please don't flame me. XD)"

I'm not sure if every mangaka is like that, but usually, the main artist comes up with the character, draws many views of it, and then comes up with a rough storyboard. Then, many other people help and draw the rest of the frames, based on the views. So basically, the mangaka doesn't do much of it. =X"

How long have you been into graphic design?

"I started being interested the first time I touched a computer. Hell, I used to paste picture's of my brother's face on other pictures using MS Paint. That was around... grade 5 or so. I got Photoshop when I was grade 8, and now I'm grade 10. So... that's around two years, though I don't think I improved much. Compared to some of you who have only been walling for a month or so, I'm so ashamed even though I've been at it for longer. x.x"

"I'll have to say Bleach. It's just pure awesome-ness. I watch a lot of anime; lot, as in I'm currently following over 15 titles. Out of all those, this is definately the one that I wait most anxiously to come out. Well, I do know what's happening next, since I've read the manga... but still, watching it all animated is always awesome. Nonetheless, I seem to never get tired of it. I must've reread the whole thing up to 180 like 5 times, as well as rewatching the anime... XD"
