"Shortly after I finished vectoring Stellar, I noticed that it looked too vectored. The lines were too thick and bold, but I was too lazy to change it. It was hard trying to put her into some scene, and I tried and tried, but nothing worked quite well. Then I thought, instead of making HER fit in with the background, why not make a background that fits with HER?Looks like something out of paint.
Vector-wise, I had a lot of difficulties with the eyes, and even now it doesn't look right.
Any comments/suggestions about my vectoring is nice, I'm pretty new at this so tips or whatever are certainly welcome.

"Since it's on BBC, it may be partly reliable, maybe exaggerated a bit.But what I don't understand is why the study was composed by Hewlett Packard (HP), which make printers, etc. and computer-related things. "Ah! Very nice tutorial, thanks for the link, r055. Now I can finally do curves without having the next one continuing it. I've just checked my settings, and yep, it was set as 72DPI.Also, when you work on screenshots or pictures that are either grayscale or not that high in quality, how do you come across in vectoring it? Is there a good way to make it seem less vectored? I've been working on a vector of a monochrome image, and don't know exactly how to enhance it. I've got all the basic colours and such, but it still looks dull because of the lack of something...; it just doesn't look fit to be on a wall. "

Manga vs. Anime

"Well, the animated version will usually go too fast or leave out some parts; which is true for books -> movies anyways. For me, it really depends on how much I like the story. Bleach, which is my favourite manga, I read AND watch; although I already know what's going to happen - watching animated version can be amusing; especially action-filled scenes. Overall, I mostly watch anime, probably because I DON'T want brain stimulation, and just want to sit there and enjoy. XD"View

"I have some questions about Illustrator myself, I hope you don't mind me asking them here, Kyendo...Well, first off. I'm not even sure how to use Illustrator's exporting commands. (I use Illustrator CS, if that helps) I started vectoring on an image at 1000*1400px, but after I was done, and exported it as .jpg, .psd AND .png, the size was significantly smaller than the original. Why is that? By significantly, I mean that it becomes around 300*400px in size. Why is it that the end product is smaller than the original? Is there something I'm missing or my settings are screwed?
Secondly, I'm having real problems with curves. Do you people do curves while you trace, or do it after? I'm finding that when I do curves that matches the image perfectly, the next point I add will have to go around and thus create a large unwanted portion. I hope you understnad, but it's kinda hard to explain. I'll post a screenshot if necessary.
And sorry if you mind, Kyendo, but I didn't want to post another topic about the same things... >_"

"I've been wearing glasses since I was 10 and I hate them. Though my optometrist insists that I keep my glasses on all the time, I just wear them when I need them. ...which is usually reading text, signs, the board, or movies captions. I look horrible with glasses as well, so I try to avoid wearing them. XDAs for computer causing it, maybe? Science teacher at school said things such as watching TV too close, reading under the covers, or such are nothing but wives' tales... Everything's in the genetics. I believe a bit of both, since my eyes seems to get worse after my computer usage went up."

"Smoking is probably one of the dumbest things you can ever do, both to yourself and others. I can't stand the smell and I try to avoid smokers at all times; even if they're standing 5 metres away. I don't smoke, and I'll never try. Growing up in a family in which only my dad smoked, it didn't really affect me much. Though, when I was young, my dad would put a cigarette in my mouth (non-lit of course) and take pictures... Oi. I couldn't even stand the taste then."View
