Sorting/Searching for resolution specific walls

"Hiya fellow anime nuts

Well I have a simple little question, (think this is the right group to post it too). I have been around for a little while, well at least since sometime last year. I have now bought a new laptop with a rather strange resolution 1280x800. I did come across one or two wallpapers which had this resoltion. however since it is such an odd one out I was wondering if there is somehow (perhaps I missed it) a way to sort/search for resolution specific wallpapers.
I did check the FAQ to see if there was any mention of this there but nothing that I could see at least. So if anybody out there knows a way to easily find wallpapers of a specific resolution, please lend me a helping hand, before I will have to resort to getting generic wallpapers :-(

Nice go for the first try especially the extraction since, that is what most new people need the most work in as for the background and so well since it is very emptey, might be hard to comment but I will, besides the background beeing very emptey the lens flare screems standard photohsp filter and I would try to stear away from that as much as possible, remeber if people dont know how you did something that sort of counts as impressive...well of sorts. so removing the lens flare and adding a background and yo uwould be well on your way to have created a submittable wallpaper. Ofcourse don't forget to add a title or some text to it, cuz that usually goes down well and a sig of your own.

Well I hate to say it but I can see why this got rejected. First I don't know if this is the normal size you submitted it as but in witch case it is too small. The other thing with this is that it is basically just an cut out image with a collection of standard default filters applicat to it. the background is very simpel and well it just doesnot look like it has been really worked on. So if I was you I would seriously consider going back to the drawing board and figure out a new approch to the wallpaper, and please don't give up, lthat is the last thing you want to do. So please keep up the efforts and post whatever you have in the forum and get some feedback on it.

This is not bad at all. Really not bad. there are a couple of things witch I would comment on the first witch I have to get out of the way is simply my opinion, and it is all about summatry. I would switch the two outside faces with each other, but simply because of the order, that way all the charachters have their nose pointing towards the middle. The thing that might go against you in this wallpaper might be the anime on the right (not in the frames) witch lookls like it has ben scaled out of it's depth and it is looking very pixelated, I think you could almost loose that image or try and find a replacement for it since it is not adding so much to the wallpaper as it is now. A little the same goes for the background, just looks a little out of place, might have to be blured a little or something. I hope this helps

" How can you get the feather option?
Well I can only really answer that if you use photoshop Cs or CS2 in witch case you can make a selection (try ctrl+clicking layer thumbnail) and then from drop down menu go to select>feather (alt+ctrl+D) is the shortcut, and there you specify the feather amount.

I would say this is not a bad effeort at all. I do like it but there are a couple of things in here that makes my hair stand on end, ofcourse it is just my opinion, so please ignore it if you feel it is wrong. All the glitter things, well they are simply too much. I see where your going with it, since it is a disco ball and all you should have some glitter and stuff, but think it is a little too much so would just tone those down a little and perhaps move/remove some of the ones witch are on top of the anime's. The second thing si the back ground with yellow and blue, I do like it but it is a little simple so would add something inbetween those or something. The last is I think it needs a title of some sort with some discofabulous font . I hope this helps you out

Well I will try and answer your questions also. As for the green on the dudes shirt, well what I would do is probably duplicate the layer and then using some means of colorizing the layer (most likley hue/saturation) and then using a layer mask or a soft erasor I would erase the face on the colorised layer to make sure the face is not also colorized. As for making the wall more exciting you have a good start with the text you have already added to it, but wuold do more than smiply add effects to the text, perhaps try some of the very cool text tutorials struen around the web. "As for your question to make the edges smooth, well might be hard to do so now that you have already extracted it but otherwise the best option would be (using photoshop) is to make a selection of the current thing you have and then go to select>feather and then feather the selection a little ( a couple of pixel will do it) too much and you will end up ruining the images and then remove that from the selection or simple add a layer mask using that selection.

Well was a while since I had any time to go on Anime paper let alone the session zero to help my fellow wallpaperers. Well I had a look at the wallpaper you have so far and it can defenetly use some work on the extraction, or you won't get this past the mods. However I really like the red lipstick contrasting against the black and white image, not sure if you did that but if you did...bravo. As for the background, well not to be to harsh but reminds me of the pattern desktop backgrounds that shippes with win 3.1 ...really no offense, but it needs to be pimped up. Also I would give this wallpaper a title and some text, not to mention a sig. I hope this helps

"Hehehehe...well this post is wuite fun to read, I am in tech support and up until about a year ago I was answering the phone for tech support, and does that suck, jesus, makes me sick just thinking bout it, but that was until I got promoted to second level, now I work like 3 hours a day and for the rest of the eight hours a day I have to put in I just do my own things like making websies I get paid for and shit. But the one thing that drove me absolutly crazy was when program was not working and their computer, and all of a sudden it was something wrong with the program, as if? Mst of you here have used it and for sure will also know it runs fine one millions of computers all over the world...but that just simply does not sink in...drives me nuts...but yhea you just have to find a job that is just as fucked up as you are and you are set.

"I'll tell you what I did when I found out my best friend of 17 years at whos wedding I wasbest man had a crush on my girlfriend and was having fantasies about her when sleeping with his wife and then told my girlfriend about it..I dropped all contact with him and stopped returning his calls and wel I am better off without him, if you can't trut em...why even bother...that is atleast my two cents...not to say this lil solution is for everyone, might just be the scorpio way ;-).

approaching someone to 'know' them better

"Ask yourself this...what have you got toloose, really if you think of it, you probably have nothing to loose over it, after all there are 6 billion people on the planet and not one of themis going to care if you ask her out and she shoots you down with a minigun...or if she jumps you in the parking lot. Realy and in the end here is only one thing at stake her and that is your pride, if you let that go them well he rest will ollow quite naturally. The best thing to do (I find) if I am asking a girl out is to remove the sexual tension from it, ask her to hang out, or go dancing or anything, just don't use the d words (i'e date and dinner) if you want to go to eat wth her just schedual to meet her at time when it is to early for her to have had dinner and then simply ask her if she is hungry ;-) always worked for me. After all you never know she might be a crazy b^&*h and the first date is just really to see how the othe person is (unless ofcourse your trying to get into her pants) and if it goes it goes and if not then not and at best you might have goten another friend and worst it ws one night out of doing whatever useless thing most of us would have done instead, in the end you really lost nothing. I'll tell you this because I learned this the hard way, I used to go out with my high school sweetheart and we had everything planned down to he white pcket fence, one and a half year ago she cheated on me and ran off to germany, and here I was, after a month or so I grabbed my self by he balls and dragged myself out of he gutter, and tha is when I realised that well when it comes to these things the only thing you have to lose is your pride, after all I am sure as a guy you probably have made a right ass of yourself in front of your buddies or on dare or whatever the conext, but that is probably a hundred times worse or embarassing than whatever moment you'll shae wth this chicky...Anyways go for it...you got nothing to loose but your pride, and that is severly over valued.

Well I have to agree with previous comments, it is hard toknow where to start, fist thing don't think this would be acceptd as is. I would say you have gone overkill on the filters here and it is visable for sure. So first thing is to clean up the main scan and stay away from teh fiters here, probably just want to leave it clean. Ofcourse it is no possible to see how the exraction of that was but yhea if you come back we can comment on that too. The background looks like one iimage wit filter appluied to it, and that is not on. so guess unfortunatly for you, you might have your work cut out for you.

I like the colours you have choosen here goes very well witht he scan. the one thing that bothers me is there seem to be quality differance between anime nd background, so you might want to lean the scan a little bit more. The second thing with is more of a cosmetic preferance is that I find the backgroun is missing soething, sort of looks like a cloud render with white and turquoise, and hat is is, would like to see more swirls and stuff or some other brush work or so. I hope this helps

Wel what really bothers me with this is allthose white lines around the charchters, think I have sen this scan before and do elive tht these lines are also in the scan, but looking att it don't think it would be so difficult to sepecrate the charachters and then remov the lines and then stick it all back together again. Might take some work but for sure not impossible.

"Id say this is a very good first wallpaper indeed, Really like the whole dirty look you have going here and as for the black blob well I don't really se it as such a big roblem. the one thing I do want to comment on tough is the text. I think the text is a little long, pehaps you miht wan to dd this text to the backgrund somewhere and then use a shorter text for tite. I hope this helps

"Well first of al, very nice vectorising indeed. Not sure about the beach idea thoguh because it might come off as being a litle cliche. but maybe a silouette of beach ad palm trees or something like that, I guess you have to ask yourself why you vectorise it in the first place, what Imean is you must have had an idea about it when you first started. Well I am sorry to say, but afraid you have yoru work cut out for you with this one, one of them might be an insurmountable one,well not that bad but anyways, that is the anime scan, unfortunatly it is of very por quality and if you want to vectorise this scan then yhea no problem. the background is also a little simple. The idea is very god indeed but the repetative pattern is making it very plain. I hope this help

Well I have to say that these clouds are still bothering me. The direction I would go in here is to make a crystal clear night or dawn or so, and remove the clouds alltogether. The one other thing that is also botherint me is the way that the stars seems to just stop, so I would blend that into the sky better better or more suddely.

Very nice indeed, I love the scan ou choose for this and the extraction that is absolutly great, no complaints what so ever. My only problem is two things, first the background is not agreeing with me 100%. So what I would firstly change is the the colour, just the blue and red, does not sit well. Would probably coose something easier on the eye, the same goes for the contrast with I find huge, you have an extreamly crisp sharp scan very well extracted and a background wth does not seem tocompliment it, I would liket o see a more complex background going on here. The last thing would be the text, both the apocalypse now and the fate logo sem to have to a thick stroke on it and also would liketo see more exuisid thing going on here, but absolutly great wall, and for sure think this will get accepted. I hope this helps

Well think I saw this scannot too longago in here with title black sofa association or something like that. However Think the first one is the best one, but it does leave the anime sca a little too small, making the red a little overwhelming. As for the background it is a little simple and feels repetative for my taste probably needs something esleto be blended into the background. I hope this helps.
