This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

"@Strike: For your first sig it's a good start and you have a good flow going but when using a render/stock you need to integrate it with your effects which is hard sometimes because you can end up covering up the render/stock too much. Try not to make the text so flashy and use a smaller canvas size so you won't have lots of negative space left over. Coordinate your colors to match or compliment the render/stock you are using. Use effects and brushing to make the tag stand out and of course experiment with everything you do, don't be afraid if it doesn't look good at first you can always start over again. Go and look up some tutorials around the net to understand certain concepts and like I said before experiment.

This is all I've done so far..

"Thanks Zombie, I try very hard to control the brightness and color of my tags since I have to work on two monitors instead of just one good one. The Sora one was for a contest and I had to make it stand out somehow, I tied with 1st place thanks to that tactic. I love the Ballz one lol. Anyways do any of you guys have some pointers on staying with a consistent style because as you will see below I jump from style to style, for me I just can't seem to do the same thing for my tags one after the other. Is that a good or bad thing?

"^ The things I don't like are the glowy wavy lines, I say you should only use those when the entire tag is supposed to look like a neon sign like from a dude name Darky Dee User posted image
Notice the entire atmosphere is very red light district like (lol) and it doesn't have a lot going on it in like smudging and brushes. You should just stay away from the glowy things until you can fit them in a tag like this: http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i127/____08/MRK.png even with the smudging the lines still fit (credit to whoever made it I forget their name atm). Also try adding more color and sticking to stocks that have some sort of action unlike the lucky star one.

I made this (bleh):

"@Hikaru: Yeah I used the same font/ text style for nearly everyone because I didn't want any of them fighting over the fact I used this nicer font for this person and not them. I can the see the text on the last one...but on some boards people can't usually it's due too a white background or something but I did that out of boredom not practice as well as the Ikki one.

@Rasengan: I don't like using the style I used for the Fai tag because it doesn't feel right to me, I only use it for manga stock tags. The other tag styles are ones I'm more used to except for maybe the ichigo one. I rarely use only two colors in my tags and those are no different, I never really have an idea for what color I'm going to use for the tag even when in the middle of finishing the tag so it may seem as the colors might not have direction because they usually don't but I still manage to pull them off to a point where the colors aren't horrible.

Thanks both of you for the CnC.

"@Omni: Some of the tags have just too much going on in my opinion, and glowy wavy lines aren't really needed. The colors on some don't seem to compliment the stocks at all, I'm not saying you need to use eye dropper tool to know what colors to use but the colors you have now just don't really match.

@Hikaru-Kawazoe: You need to resize the stock so that it doesn't fill nearly half of the tag, that way you have more space to work and a better focus/focal point. Also some of the tags look like they have too much text on them, I always say try to have one or two words instead of an entire sentence on a tag, sometimes it works but most time it doesn't.

@Rasengan: The top ones are nice but the first one seems somewhat mono and the second one is just really plain, I see great potential in that one though.

This is a bunch of tags I did for my friends on another site:

"Thanks but no I never really use C4d renders in my tags and I don't use C4D. I just smudge and that's better much it except for that Ludicrous and Tetsu tag I only used brushes for those.

"I agree with what Omni said.

In my opinion you should try just focusing on one stock/render at a time instead of incorporating the same stock/render in the background which like Omni said makes the tag look out of focus since you have two focal points that aren't really centered around each other. Try creating more of a background for your tags and don't overlay all of the effects over the stock/render. Scan lines are not meant to be placed over the entire tag usually they are meant for one (small) area.

One of your problems is flow. Your tags have no definite direction except for #2 and that is only because the scan lines are there. When you have stock/render try to see which general direction it is going, if your stock/render is going / then make your effects go in the same direction now all tags don't have to have flow or even one certain direction but it helps establish more of a focus on the tag.

Read some of that and it should help you a bit and if you have any questions ask of course.

"^The things lacking from your tags are mostly flow, too much/too little lighting, and depth(though I'm not good at that either) the Sonic one is really nice though |(n_n)| emoticon Also nice avies.

@Alisha: The colors need to be more controled and they need to compliment each other a little better, and in the first one the stock is a bit over blended for my tastes.
