i tried to work out something and have now a pretty good picture of where i want to go...this is where i am now...

I will see what i can do about the glow and the sparkles...
And yeah, the way it is now, there still missing a connection between the character
and the background...
The essentiall question is: What should I put in the background,
1) to make a connection
2) the get some sort of movement into the whole thing...
any ideas?

"Since the originaltext i wrote before , which was quite longer, did not get posted i´ll have it short now
zazou8888 - the wall is originally bigger (1600x1200)

the font is now different
the glow is gone

now the bad news, the computer wasted my latest version, and i still try to figure out what i have done sicne the earlier versions oO...

update:
despite the fact that photoshop keeps telling me that the file was corrupted due an harddisk issue,
i mangaged to upload the latest version since i could not see that something was wrong -_-"

"No, you´re not harsh...being overnice is not helpful for this kind of things
however, i´m aware of the style mismatch and the asukavektor you mentioned.
finding a style for asuka is also not easy for me...since most scans i have show her rather happy...
while in the anime she is...like toothache (and except for the movie [eoe] i do not really like nge anyway:P)

however this is the first time for years i made a wall thats not dark/blurry/grunge or ah my goddess and i made it mainly for practising purposes not for submitting...but...i found it interesting enough to ask people what they think
i´ll see if i change colors/stuff...but i´d really like to have some more opinions before ^^°

i hope you understand what i want to say...since around here it´s pretty late (or early...however you see it:P)"

it serves well for a quickly made wall but...
i wonder how/if i can make this one uploadworthy
(besides fixing poor extraction)

what specially bothers me:

- is it too plain? is something missing?
- is the blurry stuff working out
- should i start over with another (hopefully) better concept?

"Well the extraction is bad, but i suggest to search for a better scan, (there are lot of good mai-otome scan out there, longing to be used...)instead of trying to save/vector this one, and start over with this.

blu3angl is right about the numbers.

also you should not use screenshots unless you have some way to implement them into your bg in an interessting way/context. the way you have the screenshots now makes the whole thing look planless and unstructured.

with the bleach wallpaper, there´s nothing that really bothers me,
faye however needs some editing, starting from her secondary sexual characteristics, there are missing some pieces, you need to fill up with ps, or whatever prog, your using to make her figure look less jagged/cut off ^^°

ps matri, you should start your own thread instead of "hijacking" other peoples threads ^^°"

"Alright some has been said before, but here i go ^^
the resolution is too small it should be at least 1024x768...
the way it looks now makes it look more like a calenderpage than a wallpaper...(with the text on the right in japanese way of reading)
anyway,
the character is too small, you should resize her so she makes at least 2/3 of the wallpaper
furthermore try and mirror her to make her look "inside" the wallpaper not outside (cannot describe better right now, sorry) the way it is now, she looks kinda lost down there...

the picture in the back is too present compared to the greyscale character

i guess there could be more to say, but i´ll wait till a bigger version comes...
