After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

"It is hard to determine how these things fit in the scope of legality. As for the question it lies within the Fair Use doctrine. As it is not taken in whole and things are accredited, it will often fall under Fair Use. However, the law is very vague.Image hosting is very cheekily sly. The sites will give the copyrights to the respective owners. Reality is that is very difficult to contact respective owners from a private standpoint. So there are blanket clauses in effect.
This doesn't mean that the owners can't lodge a complaint. However, the reality is that the first step is a request to remove the piece in question. Anyhow it just becomes a matter of logistics. It is easier to deal with problems ex post facto.
Now as for the hosting discrepancy you have brought up. I know that many ad hosting sites will adapt to the viewers browsing history. It will pull from a pool and display what fits to that obtained data. This is outside of the control of the website and lies with the hosting site. Though the website can opt to purge the host from their site.
As for immorality of it. I feel that artistic venture and the growth of such works, comes from adaptation and advancement of previous works. For instance most works are unoriginal. Perhaps they are a fresh presentation or a change of perspective, but the heart of the story can be traced to more classic works.
Beyond this, I wish that art was not driven by commercial interest. Art should be esteemed and proliferated among the people. So I have a hard time falling behind works of art based on profit margins.
In respect to honoring the artist I can understand the arguments wishing to safe guard them. I feel though the core of art is about people being able to experience it. I like to write. I could care less if I make no money doing it. I enjoy people reading my works, that is enough for me.
Immorality I feel has been driven by consumerism. The unfortunate fact is that people have forgotten the truth of what the goal of art is. Art is about the experience that people get out of it and that is something people shouldn't have to pay for. I believe the artists that truly have a passion for the art will forgo the monetary gain.
Do note this is completely different than theft. People who steal works and distribute them under the guise of their own is where the immorality lies. People that translate and transcribe literary works to assist in the proliferation of the works can be condoned in my views."

"I'm not sure, but I feel this would be better served in the Motherboard sectionAnyhow you started it and as such I guess I can toss a couple out there. Also for space purposes spoiler is your friend!
Currently sporting a 2.4 AMD, that have been overclocked by 3%. Also 4 gigs of RAM.
Looks neater from a distance, but I must state that was neater than it used to be; trust me.
Green and blue. I am in a conversion process and as such everything will be blue LED when I am finished. Also I will be sporting a different case. Just need a few more bucks before I buy it.

The Veronicas

"We all look at Michael Jackson as the king of pop, but if there was to be a land of pop; Britain holds this title hands down. However, I digress. I'm here to talk about the British castaways (Australians for those not into history), the Veronicas.I have absolutely come to love them. Directly I would say they fall into the same category as Lily Allen and Katy Perry. Upbeat tempos, racy lyrics, and a rhythm that makes you want to grab a girl (or a guy) and dance into the night as the lights strobe through the crepuscule.
The band is comprised of twin sisters, born of the land down under. Now I do understand that they came to LA, but who doesn't when they desire fame and fortune in this modern era? Anyhow, I'm sure the prepubescent boys love the twins. I on the hand love them, because of the same reason I love Lily; I want to dance every time I hear them. Vocals are also a key, I favor female vocalists and they hit home with that too.
Either way, I suggest a quick look. I am sure that people will just have a grand time while they listen. Especially make sure to check out "Take Me On The Floor" and "Untouched". Also note that if you do like them Shiny Toy Guns is just around the corner. "

"Yeah, unfortunately copy-paste spammers are rather common; even more so in the Introduction thread. As such I am busy policing them a bit. I also am using my "patrol" as an excuse to make sure to meet and great the newbies.Welcome to AP, hope you enjoy the fine work of our members. Also you will find a lot of useful information from the people here. So not only do you get great art, you can gain some insight into the walling process.
Anyhow you can usually find me in the shoutbot and beyond that I am around in the æther. So look me up if you wish, just be ready for some randomness."

"Weird, because there are a lot of high quality wallers in our community that would like to see their hard work gratified? Weird, because the community would like active members? Weird, because they prefer people that will not take everything and give nothing in return, like a parasite?I personally don't find this weird at all. I think with a community as active as this one, that also houses a high volume of quality work, they can expect members to give back. It isn't a lot to ask for, just a post here and a good word there. Show them that you appreciate what you take and you will be able to take more. Beyond that the site is lenient enough to allow people to take a limited quantity each day, without paying in.
Welcome to our community, please appreciate who and what you find within."

"@~Yakushi I believe you have too much faith in humanity.Again I do have to say you kept missing the factor of Acid's comment. As he elaborated and you said, relationships are give and take. Anyone asking you to outright give up something that defines you is not giving anything in that relationship. I'm sure Acid would be more than happy to share in his girlfriend's experiences, so long as she doesn't give him an unjust ultimatum.
Hell it is better than my picky nature. I am so versed in such a wide array of hobbies and activities that I am more than capable of finding something in common with pretty much anyone. Granted it doesn't mean my personality will always hit home. Anyhow want to know a pretty silly deal breaker with me (well limiting factor), I don't like women with blond hair. I never have and have only seen a very select few that still looked attractive to me (so limited I can count them on one hand).
@Acid You just helped me prove the melodrama. =P Comparing hobbies to faith, very melodramatic. However, now I believe you opened a whole new can of worms.
Lesson about word definition. Read means to look at carefully so as to understand the meaning of something. Just, because you read the words, doesn't mean you have read, if the point is lost. I understand this is snarky, but hey I am an English snob and can't help it, or just have little motivation to curb the behavior. Feel free to judge me, prospectively.

"Simply put, welcome to the internet. I wouldn't put much stock in the insults, because the internet treats them like handshakes. Honestly there are more trolls than calm and rational people, so having a discussion is often impossible. Here at least it becomes a moot point, since this community has a decent quantity of intelligent people. Though we do still have the dramatic bunch and of course our resident troll. "

"There can be negative things about all sides, as I pointed out by how my eagerness to experience many things in life, can be negative. However, if you want negative things about Japan that is easy. Ask the Chinese, or read the book The Knights of Bushido by Lord Russel, either way I am sure you would see a decent amount of negativity. "

"Yet, this is not what communities truly need. Being outside of the social aspect of community is not detrimental to the community, as long as a person offers the community value. This can be as simple as working.
The basic needs of a society are production and defense. Neighborliness , and socializing are not true needs of the society.
On the other hand most individuals are in need of personal contact and communication.
At the heart of the Renaissance era we came to seek each other as a people, instead of driving them away to focus on our scholarly endeavors. As such it seemed to bring to light the need for most people to actively wish for company.
I must point out that actively denouncing the actions of any person or people is inherently attempting to alter their perceptions and change how they are behaving.
The major difference between anime and that game in particular, is that money is the core desire of WoW. Honestly anime is an art and is a great example of escapism. There are so many types, plus communities, and whole cultures created around it.
WoW was crafted to eat up as much time as possible, burning through your money. There is little alteration in anything you do and WoW could never lend itself to any form of discussion. Beyond the sort of discussion we are having now (E.G. Dangers of over indulgence).
Now I must add there are animes out there, where I believe they would fall in to the above concept (I.E. "fan service", poorly written ones, ones that capitalize hype, but alter the story significantly). However, I see that most have some quality of art in them, this is without getting into the distinctions between fine art and art. Or as my friend put it arete and artifice. There is innate qualities that make something fine art (arete) verse just being crafted (artifice). However, that would be another discussion altogether.
You didn't fully read his comment. He finds anime important enough, that he would prefer someone who could share in his love of anime or at the very least condone his hobby. He, like most everyone, wishes for a partner that enjoys or respects the aspects that define him and do not wish to change them. I believe anyone can get behind that.
Now for my two cents on the matter. The community is a bit melodramatic with their love of anime. Most people still have very active lives, but the anonymity of the internet facilitates the ease of communication. As such in the generation we are living, communicating in person is becoming less and less necessary.
Those that envelop their lives in anime, allowing themselves to be swallowed whole, are what you are actively lashing out against. Some may see this as detrimental behavior or addiction. You see it as a depressive life, that stifles life experience.
I must say that life experience can be detrimental as well. Myself would be an example of over indulgence in life. I seek so many different things, that I rarely sleep. I also am hard to satisfy and thusly have to alter my life constantly. This makes it hard to be productive in a society that favors monotony. Personally I would find it very hard to settle into a routine and as such am usually not favored by society, while I am favored by humanity.
See there are distinctions that should be made. Humanity and society have different drives and desires from the individual. Humanity will want the individual to be unique to have a story, to leave its mark so to speak. While society wants a person to contribute to the structure which supports the whole.
I, personally, am of the belief that one should honor the individual. I believe that there is a vast amount of wonder in our world and it should be experienced. I also will understand the people that have found what they are searching for and settled down. It is not a bad thing to know what you want from life.
Now to take the objects from the equation and talk about emotional connection to society. You postulate that people are not whole without a healthy connection to the populace. I must disagree with this. People as a whole are widely unimaginative. They are predictable and this is because they are knit into groups.
Those that stay on the fringe of society, can still impact the infrastructure positively, while not necessarily subscribing to the doctrine. This should be respected, because great developments in humanity were crafted by the fringe elements of their respective societies.
Overall the true reason I actively seek out individuals, is that I find human beings to be inherently evil. Most strive for good, but it doesn't change the core of the being. As such I would never condemn a person who wishes not to be drowned by the jökulhlaup of socialization. Beyond that I would urge people to give individuals a chance. Either they prove to indoctrinated in the whole and you drop them or you find another black sheep and thrive.

What is a good lie?
4 months 1 week ago
"I admit that I used to lie and lie a lot. I was frighteningly good at it. The shame of the lie, lead me to just be completely and utter honest one day. It meant my relationship was over and I was a fool to have allowed myself to be a liar.Reason for lying, simple I was abused. It may seem like a sham of an excuse, but it was the mask I wore. I had come so close to killing myself due to the worthlessness and pain I felt. Gun pressed to my head and I replayed my life and got perspective. Unfortunately I also recognized that I was not strong enough to be able to survive. The liar was born.
I allowed it to create a mask for me to hide behind. Normally this hadn't been a problem, because I was a loner. Never really had to face my lies or care about them. Until I met a woman that I wished to be with and unfortunately allowed my lying self to establish the connection. So when I shattered my mask and left myself naked before this woman, she abandoned me. Not at first, but the seed was sewn.
So, yes lying is bad. Now though the devil's advocate in me, must make an example. Is it wrong to lie to protect one's country? Is it wrong to lie to an enemy wishing harm on you or others? I think in extreme cases we might turn to a bluff, for the sake of bartering for time. Time in which to do what is necessary and right.
As for me I have taken a stance of brutal honesty. I could care less what is asked of me, I will answer with honesty and conviction. Never again will I let my words be tarnished by lies. However, things that would harm another or it is not my place to offer the honesty, I simply refuse to speak. Beyond that to still protect myself, I offer only what is asked and never more.
Selective honesty might be near to lying in the minds of some. To me it is offering enough information to answer what is asked of you. Perhaps it is most like that of answering a lawyer. Question: Do you know what time it is? Instead of saying, it is 05:47, the selectively honest way of answering would be a simple "yes".
Though I admit if I am the sole owner of the embarrassment caused by truth, I offer it. I know now that I am strong enough to handle such matters."

Is it possible to fall in love with an anime character?
5 months 1 week ago
"You would be talking about objectum-sexuals, they are people who fall in love with mundane objects. It is not the same as what is proposed here. As there is a distinct emotional display to be contacted to, rather than assumed metaphysical attraction. This type of love is akin to that of dating via the internet. The relationship is, for all intents and purposes, one-sided. You envision the love based on a creation of your imagination. I would admit that this is both more detached, since they can't acknowledge the individuals fictitious nature, and more structured, as the story/animation humanizes the fiction through character development.
However the reality is this type of love is based around escapism and fantasy. It is not nearly as severe of a mentality as with objectum-sexuals. Fantasies are part of everyday life and are especially present in youths. While the objectum-sexuals are most likely experiencing a more severe form of depersonalization with the society around them. Thus are being attracted to the mundane objects is no different than being attracted to people. "
