This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

":3 You can't blame your college for your lack of time to draw~ You've chosen the career path of engineering, which focuses on perfection and preciseness, but in art, you need to interpret and develop your own style! I agree with Kalico, you should definitely try some original art instead of falling back on copying. Copying is good practice, but can't you very well expect to improve on your own without trying new things! :D "View

"A reply to "rainedrops" comment...Wow.
That was a horrible and insensitive thing to say to any artist. That type of comment is not even close to being constructive. From my point of view, it's merely an insult. It's fine if your art preference differs from those who post in this forum, but to show such disrespect to anyone brave enough to showcase their art in a public thread is dispicable. I can't even fathom what would bring you to post something like that.
As for "Ben83red" art...
I think it's lovely! I especially like the one titled "Gay-yee Westerhoff." It's amazing that you can bring out all the highlights in her hair with pencils. Um... critique. I found that in some of the pictures, the skin was a bit splotchy. I don't know if that was intended (smearing can be messy), but it might help if you took a look at the artwork from a distance (from a fresh perspective, you can notice new things). "

"I actually totally agree with hatesyou. I'm pretty sure that all of us criticize out of love. XD The background simply does not match the character. Might I suggest you go for a simply blue background with a few wisps of cloud?"

"Blade1986: XD Oh man, I can not write at all. I applaud those who can express themselves through words. ( I think it's so much harder than drawing! D: )juwani007: The "purple" thing (It's actually maroon! XD) is his manskirt that he wears over his pants. Though Chi-chan made me sew it as an extra-long shirt... :\
onthewaytoasmile: Complexity? You must mean the rough lines that I couldn't trace because I couldn't find my pigment liner. XD; Oh man. Cleaning up sketches with a mouse is really difficult. One of these days I'm going to get my hands on a tablet...
Thanks for the nice comments, guys! :D I'm still working on finishing the coloring and adding more chibi floating heads on the side~ "

"Okay, I decided to repost this in the main forums because I wasn't getting much feedback (In the form of criticism, guys!) from the members of the residents art group "It's all very sketchy." @_@; I really don't handle praise well, I don't really know what to do with it, because praise doesn't help me improve. Although having your art appreciated is nice, I think this goes for all artists, getting input from another perspective is better. Flipping the paper over and holding it up the to the light can only do so much. ^_^;Anywhoo, this is a Gaia art commission that I started months ago and finally finished. This is probably the septeenth (GAH that's not a word! XD) version. A mix of school and piano kept me from getting it scanned and colored.
LOVELESS stuff~
My first fanart is quite a while. UGH. I didn't even try to imitate Yun Kouga's style. This originally started out as an original drawing and then gradually the hair turned into Ritsuka's (Probably because I've been spending too much time on that wig. x_x). So there ya go. The in-progress stuff.
