"I really suck at drawing and I can't say I like writing so my only form of art is wallpaper/sig making.
Usually, I get inspired by the scan itself, by scenes in books I've read and by music. Or, to be more specific, the lyrics of a song I like. And the problem with that is that I'm full with ideas but I have no time to make them into walls [damn those college projects >.<]"

"Finally, I've found some free time to make a new wall.
After trying several styles, I decided that I most like grunge and [not extremely "kawaii"] scenic wallpapers. So, when I found this scan, I had to decide which of these styles I'd use.
I couldn't decide, so I used both XD

Anywayz, the wall is almost done and I'd like to see some ideas on improving the wall [apart from the colours....I like monochrome in grunge XD] before uploading :)

Unforgetable moments at your school live

"During the last high school year, schools in Greece take the ones about to graduate for a five-day trip on a Greek island the students chose.
We went to Crete....the first night we got to go to a nightclub....I remained at the entrance cause I had a terrible migraine... at the second night they let as choose where to go. Some 10 people [my friends and me] chose to go to a "rebetadiko", a place to drink wine and listen to greek "rebetiko" music. The rest of the school decided to go again to a nightclub.... Luckily, the teachers decided that those who didn't want to follow, could stay at the hotel. When I went to write my name and the room I would be [which was the one I stayed], I found out that almost all the students who would remain would be at our room.
We managed to sneak out of the hotel and went to a mini market to buy drinks...the teachers knew only about 2 bottles of red wine we had bought from a village at the morning. We actualy offered a glass to a teacher that checked on us XD
Then, the party got wild....and just when most of the people got drunk, the headmistress decided to check on us. A friend of mine saw her coming and warned us....a friend and me managed to get the drunk ones to pretend to be dancing and stood in front of the table with the drinks in order to cover it [we are both a bit on the heavy side XD]. I still can't believe how we fooled her....
Then the party was over and we had to send the people to their rooms....I had to carry a friend of mine cause he couldn't even stand...... and when I was going down the stairs to get him to his room, another friend of mine was chasing us with a bottle of wine to give the one I carried to drink XD

The next day we finally managed to convince them to go to that "rebetadiko". Around 80% of the school got drunk [including most of the teachers...]. I managed to get 3 of my friends out cause they wouldn't stop drinking and sat there to look after them. They all tried to trick me in order for someone to go in and get more wine. Then one of them started running on the street, in the middle of nowhere, at 3am XD

At the last day, I managed to sleep a full night....we were to go to a nightclub again [ >.< ] but luckily the bus driver didn't notice us. We were sitting half asleep at the back of the bus and even the teachers forgot about us. So when he driver finally noticed us, we told him that we will stay there....I longed to sleep a full night.....and I slept....I woke up when we got back at the hotel and went to our room and I slept more.... I woke up at the morning to find my toes painted blue XD XD

Then, at the journey back to Athens, the passengers of the ship kept complaining about the noise......we just ignored them XD

I was discussing these things with a friend of mine yesterday [the one who painted my toes] and couldn't stop laughing XD

*sigh*

Game Prices..

"Games in Greece are way too expensive in relation to the median household income. For example, Age of Empires 3 is being sold @ around 60 euros....

I remember times when PC games were being sold at no more than 15000 Drachmas [less than 50 euros] and had a load of extras and a manual as thick as a normal book... Companies [consisted of people who viewed game development as a hobby] took their time to create them and thus the game had little problems.

Now they all come in DVD cases and you'd be lucky if the manual is more than 10 pages. Anything more than that is called "Collector's Edition" and costs 15 euros more than the normal price.
+ the companies want to release the games as soon as possible and so the games are usually full of bugs and you need a broadband connection [not cheap in Greece...] to dowload the patches.

I have yet to see a new computer game deserving each cent I spent on it...

I've heard some very upsetting things about the game.
It seems the game is going to be rushed out [release is scheduled for March].
Beta testers think that the game is incomplete and that Nival needs more time to fix things in order not to have another Heroes IV and the end of the series but Ubisoft wants the game to be released as soon as possible...

Interesting idea, but the face on the bottom is horribly pixelated... expecially the left side.

I took it directly from the manga, without even resizing. The background was black there too, so I didn't extract the head. I'll try to vector it though, even though I'm not that good with vectors XP

Hm, the concept is good, however it's hard to tell what you want the focus to be. Do you want it to be the image of that skull thingy (Godhand? >_>) or the character? If the focus is to be the character, I'd suggest moving the head up to about 1/3 of the way down, and put in his body.

hmm, I guess using both the skull and Gatsu is a bit confusing. I'll have to remove one of them.
About the body, there is a slight problem. There is no body in the scan and I can't draw XD

"I got the idea for this wallpaper a while ago but I just found the time to start it.
The problem is that I don't know what to do with the background. It is not my usual style of grunge [the border is just to show what style I mean] and so I could use all the advice I could get.
I got Gatsu and the skull directly from the manga and I vectored the Godhand because I had to resize it.

Just to clarify something
The wooden floor and doors are not there by chance, the wallpaper has a concept.
It's supposed to be one of that dream-seer's visions [u know, the one that can't move].

And yes, there is a sleeve up there XP

The way you watched anime...

"Both.
You can't find many things here in Greece and if you do they usually are extremely expensive [ie an Azumanga Daioh dvd vol was around 40 euros...]. So I have to download what I want to watch.

The cheapest DVD I've found so far is a special edition of Akira with both the editions of the movie [around 15 euros] and that was because a big store had obviously made a large order [there was a mountain of 'em].

But the problem is that there are only 2-3 little stores in Greece selling a variety of anime and manga and their prices are very expensive >.<

The most expensive was the OVAs and movie of Rurouni Kenshin from ADV [around 70 euros] but I had won the money in a soccer bet the day before so there was no problem XD XD

Another solution could be Amazon...
I've found a Lain box set and a few other DVDs on Amazon but they won't send them in Greece >.<"
