This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Do you cry alone in the street?
1 month 1 week ago
"I don't see crying as a weakness. Or..well..it depends. There's moments in life when you just have to cry, you know? Like when a family member dies. If they were really close to, it just kind feels better to do it, you know? But crying over every little thing, and I know a few people who do this, is like a sign of weakness to me, I'd say. When you let even the smallest thing get to you like that.I don't cry much, really. The last time I remember crying is when we had to put down one of my cats that I'd had since I was two years old."

Do you feel like your life is like an Anime, Drama wise?
1 month 1 week ago
"There are times, when I watch shows like..well..Elfen Lied, mostly, I can relate to scenes in it. Almost directly. The prime example being the puppy scene. Those of you who've seen the show know what I'm talking about.
But..overall, I try to be positive. I really do love the life I have. I have a great family, who's been incredibly supportive and extremely patient with me. I have great friends, who've been incredibly loyal, even when I feel most other people wouldn't have been.
I relate more to the feelings of animes like Kamichu! and umh...well, I can't think of another right now. But yeah, overall, I like to think I'm pretty upbeat! Although, I do have my moments where I get..pretty angsty. :/"

Looks or personality?
1 month 1 week ago
"If a girl has a really unappealing personality, I'm not going to bother with her. I'm actually very strict about that. I feel it also needs to be returned, though. I don't want a girl to date me for my looks alone. The last girlfriend I had, whenever she was asked what she likes about me, her reply was invariably: "Umh...he's hawt."While I appreciate the.."compliment", I don't want that to be the only reason, you know? Because then..you know, it's like she's just dating me for how I look, and could probably care less about my personality or how I think, etc. Plus, she kind of spread some nasty rumors about me, so that didn't fly well.
Anyways, back on topic. I would choose a less attractive girl with a good personality over an attractive girl with a bad personality. It just seems to me like..a relationship like that would be extremely hollow."

Your desired living environment
1 month 1 week ago
"I'm mostly a city person, but where I live, despite it being a city, there's still kind of a small town feel, I guess. We're a pretty closely knit community here. I always love places by the ocean.See, I'm a writer, and I always feel more inspired when I'm by the water. The smell of the air, the sound of the waves..just gets me more inspired for some reason. So, I think I'd like to have a home close by the water. Maybe not right on the water, but close enough that I could walk down and sit there. I would think Ludington, Michigan, because they have the break wall that leads to the lighthouse. I visit family there yearly, and whenever I have a spare moment, I walk out to the break wall and sit down and write.
But, I wouldn't mind a lofty apartment with a nice view of my hometown either. Maybe go for both! Have the water side home for the summer seasons, and the loft for other seasons. I think that'd be my ideal living scenario."

What is good or what do you like about Lucky Star?
1 month 1 week ago
"I am a fan of the slice-of-life genre. As well as other genres too, of course. But, yeah, I do like those kind of shows, because it's nice to take a break from really dramatic or complex or insanely energetic animes and watch one that just kind...you know, idly goes by, takes in the sights, etc. Things a little more down to earth, you know?Although, it IS possible for non-realistic animes to have a slice-of-life feel. The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Kamichu! are good examples of this. The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya did have a slice-of-life style episode; "Someday In The Rain". Which I think is one of my favorite episodes in the series, aside from "Live Alive."
But, yeah, that's why I like Lucky Star. I think the characters are all really likable, especially Tsukasa and Konata. Konata is my favorite, but Tsukasa is just incredibly adorable. Plus, I really do like all the "otaku" in-jokes XD
Those are always fun. I also like the idea of Lucky Channel. I love the banter between Akira and Minoru. It's a nice comedy duo routine, which is really rare these days, so it's nice and old school. I approve of that!
So yeah, there's a lot of reasons why I like Lucky Star XD"

Konata...Otaku's most loved character
1 month 1 week ago
"Yeah, Konata is easily my favorite character in Lucky Star. Like the others in this thread, you can tell by my avatar. Ahaha.I also do like Konata, because it's almost hard to believe it's Hirano Aya voicing her. I always like the look on my friends faces when I tell them that. They're always so incredulous! It's awesome."

"Yeah! I like scary mangas a lot.I mean, I try to keep an open mind about all the things I like, so I do like fantasy ones, too!
But..there's just a style to creepy mangas that I love.
I actually watched a lot of horror movies when I was 3 or 4 years old, so I basically grew up with scary stuff XD.
I've been a fan ever since."

How do you cope with the loss of a pet?
1 year 2 months ago
"Yeah, losing a pet is definately not as bad as losing a family member or a friend. But, it's still pretty hard.
I never really know how to cope. I've lost..2 cats and 3 hamsters over the years. One hamster just died of old age. The other two were killed by my cats because they weren't too smart and kept escaping from their cages.
I've had 4 cats in total. 2 are more recent and are both about 5 or so..the other 2 deceased cats I had since about the age of 2. That's what made it hard. I grew up with them for..nearly all my life.
The first was Missy. She had a severe kidney failure and we had to put her down because she was going to die from it anyways and it would have been more painful for her if we didn't put her to sleep.
The other, Boycat, was simply just getting old. His breed, the same as Missys since they were litter mates, is 15 years old. Boycat lived to be about 18..he had some cyst that was burrowing into his brain we could tell that was causing him pain.
By the end, he was basically deaf, dumb and blind.
He was put to sleep while I was at school one day, and I was told this by my mom about an hour or so after I got back. I was sad about it, but it didn't really hit me until a few days later.
I was sitting in class, and then it just really hit me that was gone.
The worst drop into depression I can remember having. Ahaha.
I guess..I cope the same way I calm myself down when I'm angry. Play some FPS games, listen to music, or write. Stories, mostly. I like writing stories, really clears my head sometimes..

How forgiving are you?
1 year 2 months ago
"I do believe in second chances, but in all honesty, it depends on what the person did that determines how easily I'll forgive them.Example, a friend of mine stole some movies from my brother while he was hanging out at my house once. He told me he had to go to the bathroom, so I showed him where it was. He took the movies from my brothers room, because it was next to the bathroom at the time, and he took the discs out of the cases. He took the hid the discs and slipped the cases under the bathtub.
My brother immediately accused my friend of stealing them, and I got mad at my brother, because I felt my friend would never, ever do something like that to me.
Well, I was wrong. I found the DVDs a few days later under the tub as I was cleaning my bathroom. I was so pissed..I stood up for him, even got angry at my own flesh and blood for telling the truth. I never wanted to see him again.
But..he apologized to me. I felt that he was genuinely sorry, so I gave him another chance.
It wasn't long before he decided to steal from me again.
I can't forgive him this time. He lied straight to my face, told me he had changed, but he didn't.
I've never been more angry at a person in my entire life. But, you know, there's people like that out there. I don't know what possesses them to do these things, but they do them anways.
Hrm. I guess this post got a little more self indulgent then I wanted it to."

"Yeah! I'll go read them.I agree with you. There needs to be less spammers and more good-natured, upright-standing forum members!
I figure..I should use this post to talk about myself a little bit!
I, uh..I'm really a nerdy bookworm actually. There's a large gray shelf next to my computer filled with books by Stephen King and some other authors that I don't think many other people know of. Also, there's lots of anime, manga, and some video games on my shelf.
I like reading a lot! Also anything in the horror genre. Whether it be video games, movies, manga, animes, tv shows, comic books, it doesn't matter! As long as it's scary, creepy, or entertaining in general, I'll like it!"

Calling all youngest members of the family...
1 year 2 months ago
"There's both good and bad points to this.Which, of course, is siblings.
You will always have older siblings, and you can get into some pretty bad fights with them. I have an older brother. A 3 year age difference.
And I love him more than anything, I mean, he's my brother, you know?
Bros before hos, and all that.
But we've gotten into some pretty bad tiffs, but that always happens. Usually verbal fights.
But, uhm..sometimes we'd get into physical on purpose. I'd say our favorite way to fight was to take Hot Wheels tracks and smack each other on the arms with them until we got big welts on our arms.
Ha!
Good times."

Have you ever missed school even though you weren't sick? Why?
1 year 2 months ago
"Yeah, actually, it's happened to me a quite a few times for several different reasons.I kind of hate to admit it, but most of the few times it DID happen, it was when my parents were out of town on business and I woke up and didn't feel like going to school..so I just didn't.
There were a couple times where it was an honest-to-god mistake. On days when my parents were away on business, I'd wake up, shower, brush my teeth, get dressed, eat a quick breakfast, and be out the door only to realize that I missed the bus.
So..I wouldn't have been able to walk to school and still make it on time, plus, I have a pretty bad sense of direction (which is getting better, actually.)
So..on those days, I had no choice but to stay home."

Lonely..
1 year 2 months ago
"Well..I don't mind being social every once in awhile, if it's with friends...I don't really like being a crowded place filled with people I don't know.
It makes me feel out of place and I have no idea what to say or do.
So, I can be social if I want to, but overall I'm pretty introverted and I like to be by myself

When Do You Wake Up In The Morning?
1 year 2 months ago
"It varies for me, which is actually pretty annoying.During the school year (which is over for the time being until I figure out which college I want to go to) I would have to wake up around 6 or so. But, several times during the school year, I would wake up hours earlier..usually at either 3 or 5 in the morning, but never 4 AM, for some reason. That always drove me crazy.
Now that I don't have to worry about waking up so early at the moment, I usually end up waking up at around 7 AM. Sometimes I wake up at 11 AM, depending on how late I stayed up the night before."
