I tried a lot of AMD and Intel uP, and AMD is the most stable. Intel cosumes a lot of energy, freezes or restart easily (or more than..) when exposed to hard processing job, and it gets really really hot. AMD also gets hot and consumes a big ammout of energy when is overworking but it mantains at the same rate and doesn't picks down.
The prices for AMD get lower by little, the Intel prices get higher every second.
I have a pc witn Intel P4 2700mhz, 1gb ram & WinXp, and another one with AMD Athlon XP 2000+ (1667mhz), 1gb ram & Win XP, and for the use i gave them, the AMD is a lot faster than the Intel one. i don't know why... but AMD gives me more performance.
The new series of Intel P4 and Centrino mobile are getting a bit better, Intel is getting better to multimedia and internet, but they are a lot expensive too."
