This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Dir en grey

"I have all of their albums as well. I really like their old stuff. The new stuff is kind of..."okay". I went to their concert in LA when they were debuting in America and it was a pretty cool concert. The only thing was that they hadn't dressed up in their costumes >___<They're touring around America right now and I'm soo mad because they're coming back to LA in February! I had no money to get tickets, so I'm not going...
I don't really like their "Aggitated Screams of Maggots" single. That song's not that great. However, I do like their other new single "Ryoujoku no Ame". That song sounds like their old stuff with updated sounds haha
I think one of their best songs was "Cage".
So a question for all of you guys:
When did you start listening to Dir en Grey?
I started listening to Dir en Grey in my Freshman year of highschool, which was four years ago. A friend of mine exposed me to them XD That's when I started listening to something other than J-pop. Now, I'm a huge fan of J-rock and J-punk! I've sort of gotten out of the "Visual Kei only" phase. I'm open to everything now :]
So Dir en Grey was the first J-rock band that I've ever heard. "

"It's been in a lot of forums for a while now and so it's somewhat become a "tradition" of some sort. There's always a "what are you listening to now" thread. :]

I started off like that and my stuff turned out like crap haha But I really think you should start investing in a tablet :]When you get the chance, get one! I have one now and I love it to death ^____^ I haven't been using it as much lately though..."

"The pen tool works wonders!! Just use it to do lineart, like scan your image and then trace over it :] Master that and you'll have clean lines when you CG"View

"Oh wow, I really love your style! Kind of gives me inspiration to get out of my huge artist block :] Yuffie's one of my favorite girl characters in that game, so I'm a tad biased in my comments. However, I do love your style and your CGing technique. What program do you use? "View

"Oh wow, that's something quite different. I've always liked this kind of stuff, but you don't really see it that often and as good as that. It's always a crappy look-alike thing that I find. But what you've done, it's really awesome. You have some talent for this XD Really awesome stuff you have!!I really love the Bust a Move one. It's cute and quite accurate! Do you sell them?"

"I do lineart with the pentool in either Photoshop or Illustrator and then I color with my tablet (though before I got a tablet, I did everything with the mouse :x)The pen tool comes in handy when you don't have a tablet and when you do have one. It gives you crisp lines. Master the pen tool, and your lineart will never look crappy XD I had control problem with the mouse before I learned to use the pen tool. My lines were always crap. But yeah, if ever you need to do lineart and you want it to be crisp and clean, use the pen tool!!"

"I've noticed that there are quite a lot of "My first..." submissions in the Artist Ally section. I think we should just have a thread called "My first..." so that everyone can put their first something there instead of having repetative threads saying "My first vector!" or "My first fanart!" etc.I think it'll be much easier for everyone to stick it all in one thread rather than having a single thread for each first vector, fanart etc...
That way everyone can critique each other in one thread.
Just a suggestion :]"
