"Sure why not? I mean anime characters are normally designed to represent humans :P so i think its natural that you grow a bond with them if you like their looks and personality. Personally... I think some anime characters are just too ideal. Lets say the perfect girl or w/e its tough to find those characteristics in real people so I think it may be easier to fall for some of the characters in the animes. at least thats how I see it."

"I've noticed now for years (or since I have joined) that the papers given for each post varies and I just finally could not take it anymore so i made this thread.

How does getting papers work? how is is calculated? I guess you get more for starting topics or making posts than wall paper comments? :S how does it work haha I just want to get an idea of how the system works to just stop myself from asking the same question every time I post like "how many papers is this?"

"Today, I lost two puppy golden retrievers at about 8 months old to illness. All together I have 6 dogs now left with 4...

I started this thread because today I had to watch the vet put 2 of my golden retrievers to sleep. I don't know how many tears I shed but as I write this my eyes are still watery...

I just wanted to share the story of 3 puppy golden retrievers that my family and I adopted. I live in HK so they were Chinese names but ill translate them into English as best I can. One is called White, another is Kimchee and the last one is Chubby. When they grew up they were raised in a small cage at the back of my house. I can tell you that it was abuse because they had no room to stand up and walk around in that cage... I would remember waking to their screams when the owner hit them...

One day I could not stand it anymore and asked my family to take them in, we already had 2 golden retrievers then but we decided to take them in because we could not stand the abuse. So we took them in and it has been around 3 months now... I remember the first day we took them in we had to pick them up and carry them because they could not even walk (and they were about 5 months old already). In that time they grew big and were very happy. It was not till about a week ago they fell ill and we found out that the previous owners did not vaccinate them... and so two of the puppies. White and Kimchee could not make it through the illness...

Right now Im just going through all the what ifs... what if I had asked the owners if they vaccinated... what if I paid more attention to the puppies... what if... what if... Then I came to a conclusion somehow... I felt that pets in this world deserve better. I feel this way because pets cant talk to us and tell us they are sick or hungry...
They can't defend for themselves. So often do I see owners mistreat their pets or simply ignore them. Before both dogs left I looked them in the eyes and they did too (although they looked very tired) and I saw in their eyes that they were in pain but at the same time I got the message that they were saying to me that they were thankful they were able to even have a few months out of that cage and into a life with other dog friends.

Now the last of the three sisters is Chubby... she is recovering from the illness but she is so lonely... right now I just don't know what exactly I can do... I can only imagine losing two siblings all of a sudden and being a lone...

Well that is my story. Sorry if this story is a little long but I felt that I did not want White and Kimchee's life to go in vain. I just want to let people who have pets to sincerely love them and take care of them. More than often, people do not really treasure what they have until it is too late. I just you guys to cherish the time you have with them and just treat them well.

Thanks for reading and sorry if some of the stuff I just typed has errors or grammar mistakes... please understand, Im a little depressed right now but I hope the message you guys can take out of this is to treat your pets well and cherish the time you have with them.

"Um I always seem to be watching anime... even if I have a tonne of work to do... when I have to take a break I normally end up watching an episode or anime or somthing and then go back to work...

But Ya I could go a long time without anime but I wouldn't cause because I can watch anime whenever I can. I have it on my laptop PC... ipod... iphone... you name it.. haha."

What are your thoughts on "Fan Sevice"?

"Well Like everything in life there is a balance... I just think that its good for animes to have a bit of fan service well... it does not have to be fan service but for the lack of the better word ill just use fan service... It adds to the anime as long as its tasteful and not overly used...

for instance lets say Ikki Tousen, this anime had a lot of fan service and its OVA's are just pure fan service I would say that it was over done. Personally, if Ikki Tousen had less fan service and used it wisely it would have been a better anime...

but ya I don't mind fan service, I mean it is in all of us to have some sort of sexual interest... it is just part of human nature.. a little bit just satisfies that...

At the same time I don't agree with people who say anyone who watches and anime with fan service is just perverted... I just think that its not about whether our perverted or not... I just think in someway everyone is a little perverted wouldnt you say?"
