After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

Trigun's actually supposed to be getting a new movie. Animated though. (Not sure whether it's sequel or retelling.)

Live action movies (or TV dramas) seem to work better when it's more character based than action/effects. That's probably got alot to do with budgets though."

"I love the concept of this but I can see a number of issues that ought to be dealt with.

First of all, there is some massive artifacting doing on over by the character images. The pink portion is especially noticable. This may or may not be what's causing the sections of color to not line up properly, but either way it looks sloppy. Also on the edges of the colored section, the boundry between the purple and yellow sections doesn't look quite straight as can be seen in the right-most white box here. The other two white boxes in that image show where the yellow portion of the image doesn't follow the boundry line at all, which looks really strange.

As for the text, I agree with the above poster that the names look a little weird where they are. I agree that making them larger would help, but I have a suggestion you might want to try which ouwl be to make them MUCH larger, all caps (mostly to avoid the descenders on "Spike" and "Faye"), and position them flush to the edge of the colored portions behind the characters. It really isn't necessary for all of the names to be seen after all. 99 out of a 100 people who are likely to see this wall would know them anyways and be able to fill in what they can't see.

With regard to the "BEBOP" on the other side, the amount of space it's taking up, in the position where it's sitting makes the wall look unbalanced. Suggestions on fixing that would be to

a) move the text to the right so that the left edge of the B hits aproximately where the right edge of the E is now.

b) make the text much bigger and either move it to the right so that the space between the word and the edge is at least the width of the stem of the P or move it to the left so that the edge of the B is completely flush with the edge of the composition.

Lastly, I'd also lose the multi-coloredness on the sig line and go for a simpler font. As it is it detracts from the rest of the wall and is barely even legible.

I know that sounds like alot but trust me, I wouldn't have bothered typing all of that if I didn't think it was worth the effort. ;)"

I guess pretear manga is not even out on my country, and no scanlation group as ever finished with the manga, so i guess i will have to wait to check the manga

"The US DVD should be out next spring along with Totoro. I saw it, and pretty much agreed with what I'd heard about it beforehand. If you walk in expecting something at the level of Mononoke or Chihiro your going to be disappointed. Also if you expect it to be anything like Diana Wynn Jones's original book, you'll also be disappointed. In the past I've called it something not quite entirely unlike Howl's Moving Castle (the book) that simply happens to have a bunch of references to the book. However, there ARE bits of the movie that will make much more sense if you *have* read the book, because otherwise they just seem to come out of nowhere because the proper context wasn't set up. All in all though, it wasn't that bad a movie. I rather enjoyed it actually. It's just not one of those movies that's going to go down as "The Greatest Anime Movie of All Time"."

It's like the Quatre/Tohma argument.. there isn't any real link, it's just coincidence between series. XD
But sometimes it's fun to question this kind of thing. :}

The Quatre/Tohma thing was made worse by the fact that they have the same Japanese voice actor though. Makes for bad blood unfortunately. There are some people on the Gravi community I mod who will get quite upset if people start calling Tohma "Evil Quatre".

Need I go on? So yes, adaptations of novels can be quite successful. Both in a commercial and an artistic sense.

As for Harry Potter...

Would it be successful artisticly? Damned if I know. Wouldn't be able to tell until I saw it. It would highly vary depending on the people adapting it, their budget, the price of tea in China the previous season if a butterfly flaps it's wings...you get the point.

Commercially on the other hand...well, let's be realistic. It would definitely be a success. The HP fandom would eat it up simply because it *is* HP-related regardless of the quality."

Just for fun I would love to see more Kaleido Star Circus action.


Actually, they're supopsedly working on several different Kaleido Star projects.

There was a "Magical Girl Rosetta-chan" image that showed up in Newtype. However, nobody's actually been able to find any word that they're actually making that one. It wouldn't be the first time Newtype published an article for a follow up series to a GONZO anime that never happened. (Vandread: Eternal Voyage anyone?)

The two that I *have* heard announced as being in pre-production are:

-A 3D Kaliedo Star OVA. Featuring "chibi 3D Kaleido Star characters doing cute things". I'm not sure how to react to that one really. ^^;

-"Birth of the Phoenix: The Layla Hamilton Story" Working title at this point obivously, but it should still be self-explanatory. Should go into Layla's backstory.

For my own picks, I desperately want more 12 Kingdoms (What happens to Taiki?!?!?), Kare Kano, Loveless, and Furuba. I'd love to see more Emma, Yami no Matsuei, and Gravitation. I also wouldn't mind a Planetes OVA, but could easily live without one as the ending for the series was just that well done.

EDIT: And Spica. How the HELL could I forget Twin Spica? Must have more...

And just to make sure people know...

If you want more Fruits Basket...

Hit up the Funimation booth at anime cons. Help them make paper cranes. Bring your own origami paper if necessary. Everytime they get to 1000 or so, they'll box them up and ship them off to Hakusensha (or whatever company it is theyr'e sening them to, dont' know precisely, but Hakusensha's a good bet.) Also wear costumes & let them take pictures, bring in fan art, show off Furuba-related craft projects for pics etc. Help them convince the Japanese companies we want a new season!"
