" Synopsis: Katsuragi Keima is known on the net as the god of getting the girls while in real life he’s known as otamegane and he hates all real girls. However he is approached by Erushii, a devil from hell, to help her in catching runaway spirits that hide in people. Apparently the spirits only hide in the hearts of girls and the only way to get the souls out is by making the girl fall in love so the spirit gets forced out. And he’s not allowed to fail or he will lose his head.

My friend just suggested this manga to me and its blown me away so far. I'm loving it. Has anyone else checked it out?

Looks or personality?

"They are one in the same in my opinion. I don't go for high maintenance girls so that knocks them out of the running right off the top. The way you look tells me almost everything about your personality. There are two girls in my MWF class, and neither of them is beautiful, but their both cute in their own way. What sets them apart is their personalities and how that is displayed in their own style. One has a very relaxed and easy going personality and a funky style. The other is almost as cool, but is hesitant about everything and doubtful of herself and it shows in her behavior.

The power of personality makes itself known in one's looks and behavior.

The cool thing is that everyone has a different type. Some girls like a strong guy who takes charge. Some girls like guys who are passive and they can play mother to. Some guys like fragile girls that they can protect. Some want a girl who will challenge them. One thing I believe though is that no one likes a person who has no social grace. No one likes a person who is overly boastful or incredibly insecure. Well, thats not true for everyone, just for me. "

How civilised are we as humans really?

""Civilized" is a social construct. We are civilized because we all agree to be. I forget who said it, but "Religion is what keeps the poor from killing the rich" No. I think I remember. It was Napoleon, that king of all kings. Whats natural is to react in any way that you feel. If someone slights you, you bash them in the face until you don't feel bad anymore. You can see why this way of living isn't very attractive. We need social constructs to ensure predictability in our day to day lives. This keeps everyone on a pretty even keel. It doesn't matter to me how civilized people actually are, as long as the world is still predictable enough to ensure my future. Of course there are insane people who murder and do other horrible things, but they are the minority. Life is unexpected, but I think most people are greatful for the majority of the predictable things in life."

"Lolis are hot. Sometimes anyway. Sometimes they are drawn in a suggestive style that just screams sex, doesn't make it wrong. I've seen 12 year olds in anime drawn in a sexy style and I've thought, "thats hot" and I never felt bad about it because it doesn't correlate to real life. There is no such thing as a hot 12 year old. There's hot high school kids, but thats something else entirely. Kids aren't hot, they are kids. Anime kids are fiction, like the photoshopped models you see in magazines, its fake. I don't quite care if someone likes lolis, as long as it is just fiction based."

What do you do when you're bored in class?

"When I get really bored in class, I just watch my teacher's mouth move. I take a look around the room and notice whose hot, what the funny people are doing, what the slackers are doing, and think about how I will survive the next 35 minutes. Its all pretty tedious."

"If I'm going to die tomorrow, then I'm popping no doze till the end of time. I would walk around town flirting with every cute chick I see and generally acting out like a fool. What do I care, I will never see these people again. I'll empty my back account on things I can enjoy right here and now. There is no longer a future to look forward to so I would do it all now. I'd try everything under the sun. I'm game for everything. Heroin, pot, unprotected sex, streaking, starting bar fights, smashing windows, its all game. I don't need to tell my family I love them, they know because I tell them everday. Hanging out with them would only be depressing. I would leave them with awesome words from Bill and Ted, "Be excellent to each other" and then I'm out. I'm eating steak, and then drinking wine on the classroom steps. Making out with my girl in her father's bed and then go out completely emo. I would be drunk off wine with black bags under my eyes watching the sun come up bitching and crying that this just isn't fair. Because it wouldn't be fair and I know that there is no way on this earth that I would accept my own death calmly and with dignity so soon. This is what I think I would do."

"Tenma is cool, but she is the last person I hope Harima hooks up with. Its either her sister or Eri for obvious reasons. Weird how season one was all about showing how compatible he is with Eri and the second season how compatible he is with Tenma's sister. Its a hard decision."

"What I love about this series is that it doesn't put all of its eggs in one basket. What I mean is, its got tons of action ( the mechas), an ingenious leader with a strong sense of justice and the will to do what needs to be done (Lelouch with his chess genious mind) and tons of ladies I totally dig (obvious.) Its also really funny at times, and I like Suzuka despite what some people say. It all just flows really well together. The only thing I'm worried about is the pairings, because if Lelouch hooks up with Shirley, thats cool, and Suzuka hooks up with the princess, thats bearable, but I don't know who Kallen hooks up with. A minor problem, I'm sure, but I can't help but think about it whenever I finish an episode. I see Kallen and Suzuka hooking up because they are the ace pilots fighting against each other without knowing it and they both feel strongly about what they are doing."

"No, I never lose interests in real girls because there are always some that I totally dig and want to be with. Heck, I see one I want everytime I go anywhere. Women are just so freaking incredible that I can't get tired of them. And my type of woman is so broad that it incorporates the entire gamut. I love the bookish, the ginger, the outspoken, the athletic, the flirt, and all body types. The world is just way too interesting to lose interest for me."

Sasuke's decision: wrong or right

"The bigger question to me is how is Naruto going to turn Sasuke back into a good guy? Because who cares if Naruto beats up Sasuke? If my best friend leaves, then I hunt him down and kick his... ummm yeah. Its not like his gonna stand up, wipe the blood from his face and then suddenly agree that I was right and he was wrong and come back to our city. NO, he will get up, sulk away and go back into training to kill his brother. Naruto and Sakura are going to have to help Sasuke kill his brother. Its the only option I see in store for this to end in a good way. The only reason Sasuke would roll with those two is if he thought that they would be more beneficial in his pursuit of killing Itachi. That is why he left, because he thought he wasn't getting strong enough fast enough. He was only looking at the best and fastest way to become strong enough to destroy Itachi, and he didn't think escorting old people was going to get him there. They need to find a way to help him reach his goal or else they will just always be in his way.

Looking at it this way, I can't fault Sasuke for seeing what he wanted and going after it with everything he's got. Most people don't have that kind of drive. Drive to sacrifice everything they know and everyone they care about to accomplish that one goal that gets them up in the morning. Those people you care about just hold you back from getting what you want. And for some people, thats fine. They love those people and can't picture life without them, but for a select few, their dream is worth giving everything up for. I admire him for that.

And its not like Sasuke hates Naruto or Sakura, its just that they keep getting in his way. They keep blocking him from his goal. I would get pissed if someone kept getting in my way. "

I disliked Echizen from Prince of Tennis. I find it really boring how he always won his games for whatever reason. I hate his invincibility on the tennis court =(

I totally agree! Those exact qualities make the entire show uninteresting. Who cares about a guy who is invincible, calm, and perfect in ever aspect of the game? Where is the conflict? I just couldn't get into the show because the guy is just too good, and he never sweats in any situation.

If I don't like the main character, I tend to stop watching an anime alltogether, so that was the only one that I watched 40 episodes before going, "What am I doing?""

What do you think is the saddest story told in an anime?

"Well series that tore my heart up like crazy would be the much mentioned Kimi Ga Nozumo Eien, Gungrave and Kannaduki no Miko. Kimi was totally unexpected because I almost dropped it but, after the second episode I was hooked and depression set in for 12 more episodes.

Gungrave is unnoticed sadly, but that show is amazing. It is really well told, and the story itself is like freaking epic. The story spans a lifetime, and there are so many moments of "OMG! No way! Why?! No freaking way?!" But the last episode just made me cry because it was out of this world."

Prince of tennis

"I find this sereis hard to watch just because of how ideal Ryoma is. He is always cool-headed, always says the right things, and his talent is freaking incredible. Those are usually good things, but I like my main characters to have some flaws. It makes them appear human, and because of that, they are more relatable. Come on, the guy never gets shaken or looses his cool. You can be cool headed but still show signs that you are being effected by the situation, instead he just loses for awhile then smiles and says he has figured out how to defeat his opponent and proceeds to whoop them. I watch shows to see people overcome their problems and weakness, the main character in this show is just too strong to like for me. I like the other members of the group more because I can see their weaknesses and their progress. I can't watch this show anymore."

"I think it is one of the dopest anime's I have ever seen. I have so many favorite scenes in that series, and its follow up. I just love how they talk about the commoon feeling of doubt in everyone in where your life is going, how you act when your in love, and you interact with close friends. I love the bond all of them have.

If You Had One Day Left...

"Well I hope that I would have known about this in advance to some degree because otherwise I would spend half of it in disbelief and go through those 4 stages of dealing with death, and then finally pass away crying, but ideally, it would go very differently. No, ideally, I still can't think of being suddenly told I only have one day left. I'd pray and wait for death, because knowing I would be dead in less than 24 hours would suck all the pleasure out of the remaining days. There is no avoiding that feeling. I would rather no one told me I was going to die, and my family just spent the day with me listening to the music we used to when I was growing up while everyone danced freely in the living room. Then we could all sit around and watch one of my favorite movies and me and my brother and sister would play video games for awhile. I'd call my friends just to see what was up, and make sure they were doing well, and then go out while listening to some of my favorite songs in bed or doing the kitchen. I wouldn't want my last day to be much different than my regular kick ass days, otherwise they would feel surreal, and I want my last day to sum up my favorite parts of life. Family, Friends, Good sources of media, and being at home. I really don't need anything else."

Marriage Life

"I agree with Raven on a lot of points. My main concept of a working marriage is that one must recognize when things have changed for the worse and take proactive steps to fixing them. A quote to keep in mind would be from Frank Herbert's Dune series: "Empires do not suffer emptiness of purpose at the time of their creation. It is when they have become established that aims are lost and replaced by vague ritual." (Herbert 48).

What I gathered from this applies to a lot of things, that when two people get married, its because they love each other, and more than that, they make each other happy. They make each other feel good about themselves, which is very important. There might come a day when they only tolerate each other, because somewhere down the line, they started to make each other doubt themselves. One might make the other person feel like they are inadequate or something, and I am a firm believe that the first and most important love is self love. If your partner only makes you feel bad about yourself, then things will not go well.

Then again, I've never been married."

What's your most and least favorite month and why?

"I gotta agree with FlawD on both favorite and most hated months for a lot of the same reasons. I love October because it was the month my big sister was born and its just such a passive month, but can be very active if you want it to be. Not much is expected of you, its all up to you how you celebrate Halloween. Plus its usually nice and cool.

I hate December because the weather where I am is never cold enough, and we never get snow. The weather ranges from chilli to cool/warm enough to go without a jacket. Thats not holiday whether. Plus, the pressure of the holidays takes a lot of fun out of Christmas. Its not the same when you get older. When you are young, you just receive gifts and then enjoy them all day Christmas while your parents and siblings work or whatever. But now, you gotta get everyone something including good friends. By the end of it, you are usually tapped out except for the gift cards and cash you get from everyone else. Its kind of cool, but takes way more effort than it used to. Wait, it never took any effort before."

"Tamaki is dope!! He is so funny and his heart is in the right place. I always dug him, but when I saw how he pierced everyone's problem bubbles and got them to join his group, that cemented my idea of him being King. How he saw past everyone's outer shell and saw what was important to all of them. It doesn't get any better than that.

"O man, there are so many parts of that series that will forever stick out in my mind. Like the scene where the little boy goes looking for his mother in the red light district, and the appearance of the Magnificent Steiner. That series was just all out amazing.

what turns you off in an anime???

"THings that turn me off in the middle of an anime series? Jealousy and overconfidence. Not small instances of either one, but when either one goes beyond two episodes because then it becomes an underlying theme that pisses me off. I hate jealousy in romantic comedies if it goes for more than two episodes because it screams inferiority complex when the jealous character does nothing, or does nothing but whine and moan and act like an idiot. THe typecast jealous character. For goodness sake, take proactive steps to getting the person you want because doing nothing or complaining won't get you that person and even worse, its incredibly boring to watch. I know your going to complain or suffer in silence so I don't care anymore about anything. I've stopped watching shows where they do that because it became such a constant theme and I couldn't take it.

Overconfidence is only good in small doses where the confidence makes for an incredible fight, but for characters whose regular personality is nothing but JUSTIFIED overconfidence, I can't care about them. I spend all my time hoping for their first loss. Who wants to watch a show about a person who always wins, and who knows that they are always going to win. They never show nervousness or apprehension. I love shows about characters overcoming their limitations, and people with extreme justified overconfidence don't ever need to overcome any adversaties. Struggle is beautiful, entertaining and uplifting because everyone struggles. Who cares about a person who never has to struggle. There is no story if there is no struggle. He might as well fight a broom for all the excitement we are going to see. "

"Given a choice between tv or pc with my choice of the language and subtitles, I would go with PC just because its already become a habit. For the last 4 years I've watched the majority of my anime on pc, but given the right couch, that could all change."

"I hate when an anime changes a few lines from the already perfect manga. They did it in the first episode of Bleach, and even though it was a "small" change, I have never forgiven them for that and I never will. I am strictly following the manga now, my first love.

I also hate when the second season or continuation of a series seems to be going nowhere. Thats what I think happened to Hell Girl the second season. I can't watch it anymore because its just like the first part but starting over. If you can't give me something new then I find it hard to care about it as much as the first one. Other series have done it as well."
