"I was wondering how many people have seen the movie "30 Days of Night" or at least have read the comic book. Having seen that I would like to ask how would survive an attack of vampires that have cut off a community from the outside world for a period up a week or a month. Please, I do not, I repeat, do not want to hear the suicide option. That does not count in my book.

The first thing I would do is find a place that is either easily defendable at least a handful of people or easy to conceal from vampires.

I do my best to gather supplies and weapons to survive the attack(s). I would say guns and swords as my first choices. "

The reason for the ax is in case I need to break into a place for either supplies or to simply to escape by break down walls or doors. I remember that there is a book called Zombie Survival Guide, it's pretty funny and inventive."

The only difference is that in this day and age handguns are the perferred weapon of choice in terms of practicality. In past eras and ages swords and daggers were in that spot, look at the samurai and European knights and both groups had guns during their times as well."

"As far as a fight goes, be it with a sword or gun, the better trained fighter usually has a greater chance of survival. There are martial arts styles that teach its members to deal with either situation. Both styles Krav Maga and Hapkido teach moves to deal with opponets using guns, knives, and yes also swords are among some really good examples. I could not help but to notice that some believe that blades are generally useless on the battlefield, but from what I've read of reports from battles in the 20th century the bayonet charge is still the most freighting thing to see in battle. "I say any moron can either pull a trigger or swing a sword, it does not matter that one seems easier to do than the other. If the true ultimate weapon, the human body, is not trained to use either correctly, it does matter which seem the coolest or deadlier of the two. If you are ever disarmed all you have left is your arms and legs since both the gun and sword are simply an extention of your own body and skill to use them.

"From my perspective, you have to take into account the style and type of gun and or sword you would feel would be among the most effective to use. The other question one MUST ask is that are the skills to use such weapons, gun or sword, obtainable to the user in question.

As for my preferences:

Roman Gladius, for close-quarters

Bolt-Action rifles, since am not a spray and pray type."

"I will admitt that I like to drink, but I am not into cheap beer or liquor. That one way I keep my consumution under control. I generally avoid getting drunk by all means possible; I 've had a hangover only once and I do not plan on going through that again. The only reason I went through that experience was that I mixed my drinks, I will never do that ever again. Nowadays I go out of my way to control my intake regardless of what it is I drink. I guess I'll share a piece of advise my uncle gave me about drinking. You should only have one serving of whatever you're drink in the span of one hour, one drink per hour. That way you it will take longer to become drunk."

Which anime series are totally different than the manga?

"I love the anime RahXephon, but the manga just down rights sucks. The storyline is completely different from the anime and much shorter. The mecha are barely involved in the manga, which adds to the suckyness of the manga. That's the only one I can think of at the moment. "
