This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

"Sorry if someone's already posted these:-search for character (within a series)
-search for resolution (I really like the new multi-res features!)
-being able to find all walls using certain scans (this one . . . might be tricky)
-an actual *rating* system (rather than a rating system based on number of posts, one based upon a grade given by commentors . . . or better yet, a members-only polling function that anyone who full views the wall can use to vote on an A to F scale without having to comment) (this one is probably a trickiest of them all!)
So, yeah. ^-^;
Also, a more organized mp3 grab forum would be nice. It's hard to remember which I've gotten and which I haven't because once someone posts, the topic is bumped to the top."

The highly rated, highly underwatched Fantastic Children ... do fansites exist?
1 year 10 months ago
"I watched the anime Fantastic Children in its entirety last year and loved it. At the time, there were no FC fansites in English that I could find. Now that the first few DVDs have been released in R1, I figured that, hey, maybe there are some FC fansites by now! Nope. I've searched high and low and not found any (in English at least . . . I know a some Japanese, so at least I can manage my way around those sites). So, because I've nearly given up and this is kind of a last resort stab-in-the-dark . . . does anyone know of any FC fansites . . . preferrably in English, but in any language? And I'm not looking for a blogger who reviewed the series . . . I already know what it's about, thankyouverymuch! I was thinking more along the lines of fanart, fics, or even just a basic HTML page that says "FC is cool." Thanks!"

Trouble Seeing Wallpapers
2 years 11 months ago
"Well, I am a really busy college student who doesn't have any of her computer art supplies; they're all at home in a different state! I'm not particularly good at making wallpapers; I'm in the process of making one with a really outdated program, but it's taking a while. Plus I'm a little stuck due to a mistake on the original artists' part. Plus I don't want my wallpapers to be rejected (again) and I have little confidence because I have no clue what anyone is talking about when they're talking about vectors etc.Anyway, can I not start seeing wallpapers again until I upload wallpapers?"

Trouble Seeing Wallpapers

"Recently, I haven't been able to download wallpapers. Since then, I've made some forum contributions, commented wallpapers, and cleaned out my cookies. I even stayed off the site for a full day (and then some). But I still can't download wallpapers. I have 1900+ papers, so I'm not quite sure why this is. I can see scans just fine. Help!"View
another shuffle wall
2 years 11 months ago
"Shuffle is just so cute! The photographs turned out okay, and the wood part of the table is fine, but the outer metal rim is unrealistic. It really cheapens the wall. Not to mention, it could get cut out by the toolbar. I'd remove it, myself. I also dislike the words; not only are they hard to read, but they detract from the cute photos. I've never been a fan of the words, and really wish people would not add them; it's so hard to get them to fit just right with the wall. If you really want to add text, how about in the form of a post-it note, or a stray piece of notebook paper?"

Making white transparent
3 years 1 month ago
"Thank you very much for your suggestions! Although they didn't flow exactly with my program, working with masks did the trick. I created a new mask, using "from source luminence," and inverted the mask data. Then, I used the paintbucket to paint the whole mask black. Now, it looks perfect! Here's the picture I was doing (these aren't the colors I'm using, but it shows that I got it to work).http://img241.imageshack.us/img241/3743/spicafairydemo8vx.jpg
You can bet I'll be back here when it's closer to completion. ^-^;"

Making white transparent
3 years 1 month ago
"EDIT:Okay, so now I have a new problem . . .
I've been coloring in the wings (with temporary colors) to mark them, as the picture does not provide a complete contour. However, when I got to the last wing (right lower) I realized the artist made a mistake. The lower wing should be connecting up (or close to) the upper wing, but the way that the line goes, the wing dives too low. (see picture, area to the left of the arrow, near where I stopped coloring it red) Although I'd rather leave the original art intact, I can't figure out an eloquent way of making the lower wing swoop up to meet the top without re-drawing the problematic line. Any suggestions?

----------
I'm working with a picture that's in greyscale. It's a black ink drawing. I want to be able to add color behind the black outline, but in order to do that, I need to make the white transparent. So how can I make the white background completely transparent, without making the greys look terrible in the process? The best I can do so far makes the black look like it has a light grey halo around it, or makes the black look very pixelated. I've looked all over my program's help menu (I'm using Jasc Paint Shop Pro 7), but can't find anything even remotely helpful. Suggestions would be more than appreciated! ^-^"

Trying to Fine-Tune My Work
3 years 2 months ago
"I think my wallpapers are fairly good, but not quite good enough. However, I feel like I've hit a plateau and don't know what to do to advance my work. I know they tend to be a bit on the simplistic side. Also, I have some trouble with the way JPEGs compress and can cause poor picture quality (see the Ocha-Ken paper in particular). How can I overcome this?
Thanks for your input!
