^nat
After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

Linkin Park

"Now it is very interesting indeed...I agree that they belong to rock, but don't accept they are metal. As you said, rock has many sub-genres. One of them is Hard Rock, which also has the Heavy Metal subgenre. So the two main genres as you could say are Rock and Metal. Now, metal is something derived from rock, so every metal band can be catogorized as rock to a certain extent. But if a band is rock, could it be metal? This seems to be the misunderstanding. Also, note that all bands choose a certain genre that they mostly hold to, but then start drifting apart with some songs. If Slipknot is not on your liking, try to see the differences in other metal bands, like Nightwish ("Once Upon A Troubadour" -> "Romanticide") or Hammerfall ("Dreams Come True" -> "Crimson Thunder"). Both these bands are Power-Metal oriented, but the differences in these songs are extreme. So you can say one band sings alot of genres, but one stands out. So I agree they have Nu-Metal influences in certain songs, but that's just it. Not simply enough to call them a Nu-Metal band."

Linkin Park

"When I was at the begining of my rock-life, I listened to them 24-7ish and were on top of my list back then. Songs like "Don't Stay", "My December" and "Points of Authority" I shall listen with pleasure wherever they may pop into my life. Just that now I am more into Death, Nu, Epic and Classic and I left them in the past.

By true rocker I meant one who listens to rock 24/7 and is exclusively "addicted" to this genre (as I would like to consider myself, although 3-4 years ago I listened to Eminem and 50 Cent...). Also, he should at least pay some respect the true legends, as I like to call them, meaning the 80's bands.

They may have Nu-Metal songs, but this does not make them a predominant Nu-Metal band, like Slipknot or Trivium. In the majority of their songs, I sensed a TechnoRock influence, and a bit of Rapcore here and there. True Nu-Metal bands are exclusive to this genre, with some exceptions of course (like Slipknot with "Vermilion Pt. 2" or "Danger - Keep Away", which I find relaxing songs).

Finally, all that I say is my personal opinion and I shall never think myself greater than any real music critic. In the years I listened to rock/metal, I started to recognize genres, but I only tell people my opinion and never say I am surely right, because there are smarter people than me that are right before me. But at please, try listening to one Slipknot intensive Nu-Metal song, like "(SIC)" or "Before I Forget", and then change to Linkin Park, "Numb" or "Crawling", and then tell me if you have the same feelings... "Linkin Park was something I liked in the old old days...my rock-starting days. I thought also that they were very cool and stuff, but now (I grew also:P) I'm over them.

Alas, there is one thing that I cannot now look over it...as you can see in this thread, some people think they actually sing Metal...even more Nu-Metal. They are a Techno-Rock band, with Rapcore and Alternative influences. But please, putting Slipknot and KoRn in the same genre as Linkin Park is something ~~ (to be added by viewer). Very commercial (just like Evanescence) and one, at least I didn't, would barely find true rockers paying respect to them for their style."

"I mentioned Trivium because I pair them with Slipknot in a odd way:). Entrance of the Conflegration is one heck of a song, but too bad it was shaded by Anthem (We Are the Fire). That song only got 3 - 5 damn tunes on the guitar. I really looked at the vid. They are great in my eyes. "

Metal

"Metal...man it's a damn drug...I guess you know what I mean. If I were to talk about some of my favs, Slipknot, Godsmack, Nightwish <3 emoticon, Opeth (Now Plating: Opeth - Face of Melinda), Rammstein, Devil Driver, and for worst days, Behemoth and Gorgoroth. I saw in one of these them post:
linkin park is metal isnt it? nu metal

I don't wanna be rude, but if Linkin Park became Nu-Metal, then I gotta slit my wrists faster than I thought. These guys are so damn commercial...electro before metal... They have no respect from me. So I'm really sorry, but please learn before you talk crap. Try and compare People = Shit or Entrance of the Conflegration with Numb or In The End. You'll se what I'm talking about

Also,
Godsmack most certainly isn't metal. They're more heavy rock. Like Disturbed.

They're alternative to grunge-like. So yeah...I guess they are. Even Disturbed has a Nu-like flavour.

I DotA-Allstars about every weekend, about 6-8 hrs a day on Europe PvPGN. It's good that it's very balanced and IMBA only in the right hands or vs the right heroes. Like I rule with Razor, Bone or Viper, but I can't play Bala...talk about stupid...

Need For Speed Carbon

2 years 11 months ago

"Played it, just like all NFS games from Underground until now. I finished it in like 2 days, about 8h a day. The career is easy to beat, only things harder are the Canyon Duels that actually make this game different from NFSMW. I feel like it's a MW with another story and shorter. Not even the cops are active...I finished it getting busted once, but I had 3 chases...

The Reward Cards and Challenge Series are the real challenges for this game...I finished about 75% Challenges and 60% Cards, including online rewards.

Best moment was when I really finished (or beat Kenji in 2nd Duel :D). About my fav car, I finished with tuners, Nissan Skyline GT-R to be more exact. My garage only has Mazda RX8 , Mazda RX7, Kenji's Mazda RX7, Subaru Impreza WRX STi and Nissan Skyline GT-R...it was pretty tough with tuners, but a friend of mine who went on exotics got stuck at the 3rd neighbourhood with a Lotus Elise...but in the end, if he'll have enough money, he would end the game easily...

My verdict is that this is MW, but shorter, with less police and made for the Reward Cards mostly...that's the only hard part of the game..."

Metal/rock hate?

2 years 11 months ago

"I really ain't bothered by stupid, childish behaviour. Like you people said, it's really amusing. And I really don't care...this thread is not about me or any other person. I made it for the idea of rock/metal hate.

Just that rap and hip-hop are just so popular now, that even great ballads are being "satanised". I told everyone that I don't care...they can say Slipknot or HIM are satanists, but when they pick on the names that changed music (as I like to see it), like Guns'N'Roses, Europe or Aerosmith, that have happy-oriented songs and love themes, then I'm getting angry. This is why I think the whole concept of rock is hated..."

Metal/rock hate?

2 years 11 months ago

"I noticed something very interesting in my country. When I am asked what kind of music I like and I respond metal, that person gets a very bad opinion about me. Even when I'm walking down the street with a rock/metal T-shirt, I get enough nasty looks from other people. At school, everyone knows me as a satanist. Althought I am indeed intrigued by the "Dark Side" and I always talk about death and such without remorse (hey...it's a reality), I consider myself as a lost lamb to God, but certainly not a worshipper of Satan. Even when talking about Aerosmith - I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing, they said "You again with your satanism?"

I even talked to some "friends" of mine and when they heard I am a rocker, they started telling tales about hoe they beat up a rocker once, how they burnt rocker clothes, etc. (Of course I think this is Bu|_|_$#!†, but there are people that do this).

So my question is why is rock/metal so hated and it's listeners not that symphatized...or maybe this is only happening here?"

Bullet For My Valentine

2 years 11 months ago

"I think they'll be the future of metal. All their lyrics are based on love, so it's kinda a pink stain on a black background. It's to early to say, having release just one album, but I think that someday, we'll say "Remember Slipknot, KoRn and B4mV?"...

They're something new, but of course I got the satanism blame again, mostly for Hand Of Blood, but All These Things I Hate (Revolve Around Me) and Tears Don't Fall are extraordinary...just too soon for them...talk again in an year or so ;)."

WHY DO PEOPLE ASK ABOUT DEATH?

2 years 11 months ago

"I am not going to choose any of these...people make their own life...if they want to die, they will make it possible. I just want to answer the question "Why do people ask about death?", from my point of view. The first thing is that people are afraid of what they don't understand, death being one of them. In time, they found explanations for different miraculous phenomenons, like lightning (you think it's silly now that you know that it's an electrical discharge and blablabla, but think 3000 years ago), creating GoDs, beings of absolute strength. Again, it's ONLY AN EXAMPLE. But when science evolved, people found out new things and alot of questions found answers...but of course, time immortalized some questions science cannot respond to at the moment, one of them being death...while it was characterized a normal and natural phenomenon, it still has alot of questions, so people are confused, not knowing what to believe and always seeking the answers...this is my thought about death.

PS: Although I indeed find the dark side a little intriguing, a life is not easy taken like a pie and I disagree with inflicting pain if you are aware of you actions, so my answer would be number 5..."

Classic games............

2 years 11 months ago

"A true game for me, which I am grateful to the WWW GoDs I found freeware, is Tyrian (2000, but that's an enhanced version). I never really bothered with the story. The thing that attracted me is the gameplay. You can customize your ship the way you want it, leading to many (and I mean many :D) combinations possible. The graphic for that time was amazing also (I played it in 1999, about when it got out). The sound the same. It was one of my fav games...and it still is now, though it's outdated, you can't outdate greatness.

what type of anime you likes?

2 years 11 months ago

"My fav is romance...as long as an anime has a hint of romance in it, it get's me into it... Also, romance combined with action and drama has a huge impact on my lil' heart. One example is Saikano, which actually destroyed my life after seeing it. Things simply got too crazy then...

My fav is Shakugan no Shana, moslty of the romantic part. It's shaded by the story itself, which is also beautifully made, but it has a major impact on it's course. I also like Shana, trying to hide and deny her true feelings at first, but recognising them slowly, even accepting the challenge over Yuji..."

Scared of your famliy or friends going to make fun of your music?

2 years 11 months ago

"On first hand, people say I'm crazy for listening to rock...I'm a satanist, I'm f****ed up, etc. But those who get over it, say I'm crazy listening only foreign. I'm from Romania...small country, no music culture (for me at least), just 4-5 bands that really play great. So I got english, german, finnish, norwegian, polish and swedish music. My parent's don't give a damn, only when they come to say "Turn DOWN the VOLUME!!!!" or "What crazy music you listen too!!", but some of my friends can't stand foreign music. I don't know finnish or polish, but the songs are just great.

OffTopic: Alot of people make you a satanist for being a rocker, but HIM and Cradle of Filth aren't goddamn satanists. Just heavy influenced by death. Talking about death and worshipping Satan are 2 different things..."

how do you feel about rock music?

2 years 11 months ago

"I like rock, but better I like metal. Rock I only listen to Aerosmith, Guns'n'Roses, Linkin Park 'n' Evanescence (altough Evanescence is metal, just like Linkin Park it's so damn commercial), Van Halen and others. Metal? Say a name:P.

Of course the classics remain, but I'm more of a Neo-Metalist/Rocker. Anything crazy enough to disturb the people around me is good for me. Even when I'm rockin at my headphones, people tell me to turn down the volume. The music has evolved alot, some say in worst, some in better. It's something crazy and dark now. But I say it's better like this...let the anger out >:)."

Music

"For me...MetaL is my life. The best is Nu-Metal, Progressive Metal and Doom Metal. Nu is the crazies, purest metal. It's in the limit's of sanity, but just barely. Progressive is for the times that you need a break. It slowly gets you in the tune and then the metal part begins. Doom is about the voice...that demonic voice with devilish lyrics.

Some of my favourite bands are Opeth, Progressive Doom, which have songs that are slow, but lyrics about death and the devilish voice, Slipknot, best show of Nu-Metal, a true classic band, and Bullet for my Valentine, a future metal star for me:D (Matt Tuck has an awesome voice).

In another order of ideas, Techno, Instrumental (Techno Instrumental ;) ) and of course Rock."
