Trick or Treat by °chanelqueen17 1 month 1 week ago

^nat
After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

"The quality of the scan is not great to begin with. The only way out of it is to vector it or to size it down some what. Otherwise there is no way out of it. This is the only issue I see, aside from the signature size and positioning, although it is a fairly big issue. I suggest attempting to vector it, since doing so will also fix your jagged edges as well."

Can I submit this?

"Echoes what all above has said. Oh, and please don't hotlink th image. Use the code for thumbnail 1 and perhaps you might want to make your signature smaller and move it to the very bottom. "

should I submit this or not?

"To completely desaturate, it should be Ctrl+shift+u. To adjust the level of saturation, go into adjustments under one of the tabs. There should be an option called "Hue/Saturation"."

[v2] the return of the LEMONADE

"Actually looking it again, there seems to be a slight white on Shinn's hair.
Indicated here.
Maybe it's just me. =[
I suck at vectoring, so don't take me too serious. Lol."

Thanks for all the suggestions!

Teresevo
I highly recommend adding a slight shadow of the character faint enough just to be seen.

I'm not sure what you mean by this, if you could elaborate that would be great.

Taking the suggestions, I came out with this. Text is a bane of my existence though.

Simply make a the person's shadow behind him. The flame acts as a light source, thus generating a shadow that can be seen on the right side. Once you've done that, you can move the character and the shadow layer a little to the left (Just a little), to even out the wallpaper.
The text, I can't really help you out with. But, you can get help from august199 (She's the head of the Script Refinery group). I suggest messaging her (Just don't say I lead you to her. Shhhh). Either that or you can wait a bit. I'm sure others would be able to help.

I'm not too sure what it really needs, but the background is still rather . . . bland? That should be the right word for it. The fire, I think is also excessively blurred (I blur things too much too). You can argue against, I guess, but I'll say my bit.

See, the main focus of the wallpaper of the moment is the flames. It is the only object colored, thus our eyes immediately train themselves to it. Simply speaking, the fire has to be something spectacular and noticeable; it has to make the viewer see it and immediately fall in love with the wall. That might be little over-exaggeration but that is what the primary point is.
In short, the fire must be "sparkly" but not too sparkly. Something more of what you have initially fits this better. While I do agree on that it needs to be unsharpened and blurred a bit, too much of a good thing is a bad thing.

I also want to bring upon the attention to the edge of the fire on his arm. It's still too noticeable. You would need to smudge it a little, or manually blur it with a brush.
Also, on the lower right corner. I can't make out what the faint tint is (whether it's part of the scan or that it was added manually).
Here."
