This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Don't know if I have the talent to draw....

1 year 2 months ago

"They all said it. But one thing cannot be ignored. Yes there are talented people out there born with the sense and ability to draw or paint, however their direction as artist is also affected by such talents so call it some kind of balance because more often than not these talented people are less flexible than those that acquired the skill to draw and paint or sculpt. Take note of the "more often than not" portion because there are exceptions aswell since there are talented flexible people but again because they are like that you may find another aspect of them a bit lacking... usually their mental health or ideologies. Don't worry too much about it because whether you are talented or not you can still draw given you have the patience and will for it. Heres one way to usually tell if one is talented. Talented artists usually don't draw cartoons, they more often draw what they see or what they feel and it is expressed usually in their own terms and often in their own style. Much of the talented original Anime Artists are now really not easy to come by nowadays since much of the Anime and Mangas we see today are based on how these pre-commercial mangas were created, more often than not ehy are not even teh head of any anime firms and such. So you define for yourself whether you are talented or not then set it aside and start drawing. Talent or not the true road to any artistic achievement is in your passion to do it.

As for your drawings I'd say they're pretty good considering you don't pick up the pencil often not to mention your shading, you don't see that often from people who start."

"With practice you'll obviously eventually get it. The only thing that really got me here was that you got the feathers outside the wing right but then the wing feathers turned out well... not as great. You live up to your name though. Kawaii drawings and all."

"Okay the drawing is fine and dandy but now since you mentioned an existing storyline do describe who this guy is so that we don't see him as but another anime guy you see in a lot of animes out there. Give us something that will make him stand out. Help us appreciate him more eh?"

"One way to give the illusion of smoothened lines is to shade them in. When you start your drawing you also use lighter lines to sketch the initial figure then darken it only when your certain the shapes and forms are correct. To darken simply trace the sketch lines but not too dark or you might destroy the paper and give it grooves... Then shade it. IT won't be that simple though so as we all always say... PRACTICE. Oh when I say light I mean LIGHT... really light where they are a bit hard to see but very easy to erase and change."

Summer Pose '07

"I'd say your head is right... The rest of the drawing isn't however. Your head is drawn okay but the body is the one too small and not the other way around. Your anatomy is flawed. Thats what needs work. I suggest a re-draw... wait... do you start with a guide figure I.E. a stick figure or do you go straight into it?"

"The character looks like a man thats the problem. Adjust the way you did the face because the features are rather masculine. I agree with aeres about the chest. Your form and pose is good but everything else needs refinement. That would be your details, shading, anatomy, and lines. Keep practicing."

Base sketches before being put into the color works

"Oooh... that first one would have been more interesting with more details and deeper emotions to it rather than a character smiling like some cool guy there... I specialize in making battle scenes in graphite so that one caught my attention :D Best make them not all dead... some sufferning wounded here and there and some of the guy's allies executing some of the wounded by stabbing... Just to add more drama to what is really in a medieval themed battle scene."

"What do you want us to say? If your serious about getting better there you might wish to consider to use a pencil there and soften your edges and strokes. As far as design goes however its nothing that special given that many have already done that... I'll just really say if your serious about drawing grab a pencil and start practicing... Since you like doing this stuff practice by drawing the rest of the characters available for that game. Good Luck"

"As always its all impressive but for this one there be something off with the fourth piece that could use a little attention. Her arms may be the right length but somehow the way they were done makes it rather off. Either the lenght is somehow wrong or the bone structures just doesn't make sense or the way the forearms were done... Well it would seem excusable given that of all four that last one seems to be an unfinished rough sketch colored in. Hmmmn... well on closer inspection it would seem the second drawing may have a similar error. Hmmmn... well okay... nevermind I'll give you a statement... watch the anatomy and proportions... The third one has odd legs, I don't know if thats the knee I see there or what but it sure don't look right. There may be more given that on closer inspection I caught more offshoot values. I advise you review this batch and consider it for future works."

I'm Hoping I'm getting C&C 3 Tomorrow !

"Hahaha! I understand that. I meet a lot of those people in Dawn of War online and I recall Generals was somewhat like that. We call them stat buffers because thats all they care about. To avoid them you can either play with newbies or try to get in contact with those that don't care."

I'm Hoping I'm getting C&C 3 Tomorrow !

1 year 5 months ago

"Over zealous are we. 1. I didn't compare it graphically because I don't see any point in doing so (The game was released a long time ago whats there to compare?). Let me quote the statement - "Its technicallity and slow paced play appealed to me but if you are going to compare it to TW it has less appeal to the General public." By technicallity I meant its game theory and the ways it can be played given the the effects of terrain on the units and weapons etc. If I was going to talk about graphics then I'd reffer to its requirements. 2. I brought up Star Craft NOT to compare it to C&C thoroughly but only in its market aspect. I already also stated that I agree with you on how TS was an excellent game of its time however it may have been too good for its time that many players were not quite able to handle it.

Look I know your trying to defend this game and all and I know you aint angry. But please man, do not assume a lot about what certain terms mean in another person's post. What I see here is that you assumed I dissed the game, well heck no Star Craft was for me the biggest dissapointment and one of the crapiest things I ever played and I aint dissing it for convenience just for now no, I'd do this anytime to a game that badly dissapoints me. TS was the complete opposite, everything about it was something I loved. Too bad its market didn't boom, lots of em missed out a great game.

Critics don't make the game a failure true but if the game died out early then it did. People know it but few outside certain communities play it and it hasn't been growing for a lot of years now and last I heard they're getting smaller because some moved over to the new one. Your statement about its fame cannot also be verified yet because 1. Its unfair to compare it to the old C&C which was released as a very new look into the way RTS is to be played and really made fame from nothing (them Dune 2 boys had to adjust to this one). 2. Tiberian Sun partially gained a large number of its fame from hypes and fan based advertisement to the others (which in the end dissappointed a lot given its massive critics). It was famous though. 3. The latest installment is still too brand new to determine just how far it will go. Wait a year and then we will see. Oh and be careful of how you consider critics. Everyone has a right to criticize even if they have no bragging rights but the content of the critic is only to a certain extent. But younger "newb" players are the best way to see how people who never knew the universe will be the one's to show just how far the game can go. Its where you account the general public and if they don't like it well your in a bit of trouble. Call them the main stream given they are the greater majority of gamers today. They may be newbs now or yesterday but I'll bet you some of them may be the authority of the gaming world tomorrow and they also hold the trend of the next generation. I know their critics are ludicrous believe me, but as far as marketing goes... that counts, but if your consideration is the game's success as a great game for its time then yes they don't count. As for Supreme Commander, I didn't like it so much but I wouldn't under-estimate it. I played its demo thoroughly to consider if I would buy it and it does have a lot of gameplay options available to you and no I cannot say its a copy of TS and Generals because it still very much reminds me more of Total Annihialtion due to its game system. Its one of the few RTS games out there that have advanced considerations into projectile physics I.E. they miss on many accounts depending on where the target is and how much cover and its not based on some percentile chart. It has a lot more of that to consider how you will attack the enemy. Sadly though the game has the one of the biggest flaws which drove my decision to not buy it. All that strategic power will all be suddenly useless in the latter parts of the game... or even 30 minutes from it... because of the game system which was Mass Production. The game has that as the sole option for any player to defeat the game and well its always down to some rush and a stable economy. So strategy has become near useless therefore... its below TS in strategic standards.

Hey its a pleasure speaking to a guy that appreciated TS! So heres the final conclusion TS a success? Yes in terms of the achievement of making an advanced game for its time but not in the marketing side. If your going to refute me again well be my guest I'd love to answer your questions but please don't assume the terms. I should add you on my very short friendlist. Oh and Avenger, sure. I'll watch you then."
