the difference between anime and regular cartoons

But for me, the main difference is the plot (more complicated) and the level of detail and the style in animation.

For an example, let's take eye design. In Anime eyes are really detailed, since they reflect character emotions. In cartoons though the eyes aren't that important - there is simply no need to express so much emotion.

And about the plot... Try comparing Ghost in the Shell and some "American" cartoon... The difference should be pretty obvious."

I too have my doubts about Lelouch's geass, since I think Orange-kun's ability simply cancels the effect of geass, but still leaving the limitation (that Lelouch can only use it once per person) in place.

"It is just my opinion, but the high school theme is a bit overused, I mean most animes I've ever watched are based on high school events. But...

...School life in general for me is really fun because I get to watch what they do that I never get to do. Like the crazy events in Code Geass (I can't even imagine them happening in my school - or any other school for that matter). It would seem Japan's really obsessed with youth and cuteness but those two things I quite enjoy watching so I don't mind it at all as long as they can keep coming up with different plots."

"I love those things, they are rather hilarious :) And so I think those things can be true... In a way... For an example, one horoscope that says you will have good luck in social situations this week or today, well if you look at me I (communicating with others is not exactly on of my strong sides) but if I truly believed in this horoscope, or even if I didn't and take it lightly, then I might feel more comfortable talking to people in public just from believing I'm going to have good luck in those situations and even meet someone new, so I basically made it come true.

So I think the horoscopes and such do help us in a way, they make us more confident, careful or whatever else. It is also interesting to compare your horoscope to others."

But mostly no, the community here where I live and the one in Japan have vast differences, so it's pretty impossible for something anime-like to happen. And about the actual feelings, drama, that is quite impossible too, due to social differences again... But sometimes, especially after watching some anime I tend to create parallels with my life, but I later understand how wrong those actually are ;)

"I'd prefer city, suburb would be my second choice.

But I'm not entirely sure, it really depends of my mood. I like to live near other people. Also you can find almost anything you necessarily need in the big city and buy, like accessories and stuff. Suburbs are quiet, peaceful not too crowded and are nice to just chill out in.

I'm currently living in suburbs but I'd much prefer living in the city. Only due to the availability of everything within transport reach.

I've grown used to behaving myself in public I've always acted too mature for my age (my friends have mentioned it), that's why I don't like having bad manners in public anyways because I hate getting attention or when people look at me because I did something that stood out. In terms of manners, I'm more concerned about being sanitary, it pisses me off when my family members don't do their dishes properly or don't wash their hands before and after eating."

"My brother watches a little but not as much as me, he says I'm a nerd (though he watches Naruto). I don't think my father or mother actually like me watching or reading anime, but they don't throw any comments in about it or try stop me from doing it they don't care as long as my grades don't drop and I don't do drugs...
And about my brother... He does like some more animes (besides Naruto). Those would be FMP! and Code Geass. That's all."

MONEY = everything???

"Money certainly isn't everything.
Even if you have unlimited amount, you can't always control everything, no matter how much money you have. So much money has been spent on researching diseases like cancer but it still exists. We can spend as much money as we want on researching a way to prevent hurricanes and tornadoes, but in the end, people are still going to get killed - money can't prevent mother nature and it can't control our minds.

Why a good driver has a car accident? If it's a good driver the accident is caused by another person or situation, and luck would be the chances of that guy being there, but if you put a bad driver in the same situation the result is the same and couldn't be the drivers fault, even if he's a bad driver.
But I'm getting off the subject, sorry, about the money thing, it may give you more chances when you're facing something and help your luck, like lets use the car example again: if you have a nice car with everything working as it should etc there are less chances that you'll get an accident, which doesn't mean 0 chances. But if you don't have the money to afford a car with the best technology and you can't afford to check often to make sure everything is ok, you have more chances to be in a car accident.
Money can't do all the job, but it helps, that's for sure.

It just seems that everything's driven by money since we use it so much, but it isn't."

I get responses similar to that too, like "You sill watch cartoons?!", but I too get sometimes randomly called a pervert. (Mostly by my brother, though he watches Naruto... Figures...)

So I don't publicly announce myself as an otaku, unless necessary or asked. I do understand that you do, and enjoy laughing at the ignorant people that automatically assume it's something completely negative. Explaining that to those ignorant ones can be quite annoying."

Air Gear - Yeah, new sports. I got myself a pair of Rollerblades and now whenever I have time, I sort of "roll around". Inline skating for the win :p

Naruto - True meaning of friendship, also that one should never give up.

Gundam SEED/Destiny/00 - Technology for the win! The ideas I got from these series are quite similar to those of Narutos. But also, I learned that one should always follof his or her dreams.
