"As it is... it doesn't work, like dixneuf said. The grass is supposed to surround the elements that are in it. I'll give a rough example:



You do so by making grass layers behind and in front of the object layer, for starters. Also, the grass covering the base the objects should be solid, so that said base won't appear.

The sun also looks weird - a square? Also, the background is empty and boring.

Finally, the elements (grass, stock tree/cathedral and 3D character) themselves don't match each other; if you want to make a good piece, work so that its elements look like they belong together."

Although a simple background doesn't mean a bad wallpaper... as it is, it doesn't match the foreground in any way - be in tone, be in theme. I'd suggest either working on it, or coloring it to match Yuki's color scheme better."

Try using an imageshack link with a thumbnail for us to get to the wall... Don't use photobucket, imageshack is much better and does not resize your images.

Photobucket has improved lately, though. Not only better bandwidth, but a larger file limit as well - 1MB (although this last feature must be selected in the uploading options). But imageshack remains a fine option, and doesn't require registration. But doesn't keep track of what files you uploaded, if you didn't register, either...

Anyway, to OP: analysing the first post, I've noticed you linked to a file in your own PC. You need to host it somewhere online so that people can view it.

Suggestions are Imageshack and Photobucket."

But anyway. This chain of events is surely ominious, and I believe something greater will pop up if Israel gets counter-attacked by a proper State - like Iran, for instance - instead of by faceless 'terrorists'.

Or if USA and other occidental supporters of Israel notice that Iran is aiming nukes at jewsland, or something. Personally, I'm totally seeing that happen."

How do you know if your wallpaper has been accepted?

"If you noticed a loss of papers after submitting it, then it wasn't accepted, I believe. Or so things were before I was a community member, at least.

When a given wallpaper is accepted in the gallery, it will appear among the latest ones, in the front/home page."

"Twelve circles of four colors, over a black background. An inverted extracted LQ screenshot of Kero in one of them, and text.

Those elements aren't enough to make a wallpaper. I don't see any concept behind it, and the execution is poor. Taking into account the current wallpaper rules, it would be deleted on the spot.

"Bashing" aside... you need a concept, a theme, even if just a joke one, and then start working on the skills needed for it. If you just want to make a Kero wall as in a "hit the mole" game, for instance, you could start giving a try at vectoring - redrawing that Kero won't be too difficult, even for someone who has just started. The circles could give place to holes, and could be arranged in a less... boring way. Three lines of four circles simply doesn't work, after all. The black background could give place to a grassfield, a wooden surface, or something like that.

If you feel lost, seek a few tutorials and stuff. This board's sticky should be helpful for that."

Okay, I guess now there's more to talk on... since I had an idea for the background. Instead of random space-filling words, a notebook page with a... rather pr0n sketch on it. (I won't ever forget Kev's words, that one of the techniques of putting away the waller's block is working with etchi. Whatever it works or not is an entirely different matter...) Yes, I'm making a parallel between drawing and walling, since I'm lame.

The 'ghost' is a trace of chibi Ren (DearS); the pr0n trace is of a character of an h-game.

So, any comments on this?"

Even though it's already signed, I believe it's too simple to be posted anywhere - I mean, it's just a vector, two ballons and text on a plain blue background. It obviously lacks something.

However, I don't know how to proceed without going lame or too complex. I thought of adding Tama's clock texture - but it didn't fit well, since it kinda "broke" the style I was aiming; the default PS CS2 textures were no good, either. Firt, I had thought of a desk or something - but, then again, the source screenshot (taken from the opening sequence of the firs) Comic Party anime series, by the way) had a desk as bg, so it wouldn't be something too interesting...

So, I come seeking suggestions and criticism. That's right: I've got wallersblock'd when making a wall on waller's block. I'm odd like that.

So, any input? >_>"
