After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

Resident Evil 4 Featuring Ada Wall

2 years 3 months ago

"Thread refers to the wallpaper located here.

Anyway, I'd like to know your thoughts. This is my first effort at a video game related wallpaper (and one for Anime Paper in general). Ada has been gray-scaled save for her dress and eyes and given a slight reflection at the bottom of the image.

I particularly need some advising with the background. As per the advice I've received, I've added a background and set more characters in it, but I'm not too sure where to head from there.

Below is a slightly reworked version of the above wallpaper in the link.

Any and all comments are welcome and appreciated, for I have been a little more than fustrated with the lack of tutorials for Macromedia Fireworks. Yes, Photoshop seems so much more versatile and with the wealth of knowledge about the subject available is probably the better choice, but I do not have the means available to purchase PS.

Thank you!"

Your First Anime?

2 years 6 months ago

"Hmm, it was either Dragon Ball Z, Ranama 1/2 or Macross. I really can't remember, I was like 6 or 7 and I remember my cousin showing me some. What I remember most though was that it was on one of those huge Laser Discs (they were pretty popular in the Philippines at the time)."

What do you HATE the most about anime?

2 years 9 months ago

"I'm personally not a fan of "spectator" characters in anime. Take for instance Protagonist X is fighting Antagonist Y. Antagonist Y proceeds to pummel on Protagonist X while a few vocal observers sit in the background and talk amongst themselves, making the most blatantly obvious comments and chiches.

Spectator A: Oh no! Protagonist can't hold on much longer, he can't beat Antagonist!

Spectator B: NO! We can't, this is his fight, he has to do it alone, his (insert stubborn characteristic here) won't let him have it any other way!

A: ... ?! Protagonist was able to parry Antagonist's attack!

B: He's found his (latent talent, inner strenght, etc.).

Yeah, that irks me sometimes, but what's anime without cliches and usually they aren't too overly annoyting."

Recommended websites for figure\model shopping?

"Heh, dang, I didn't know there was a advertisement to a store on the side there because I have an add-on for Firefox which blocks various images such as ad-banners and the like.

Good call though, I will check there too."

Recommended websites for figure\model shopping?

"Thanks for the input, I should have mentioned that I live in the United States. Regardless, I believe shipping from Europe might be less than if I were to deal with another company based in Asia.

I'll check out the store you linked, thank you :)"

Recommended websites for figure\model shopping?

2 years 9 months ago

"Hey, I have recently gained the interest in purchasing a few different anime figures\pvc statues, but the kicker is that I'm having trouble of locating a good site with which to make said purchases.

So my question is, are there any sites in particular that many of you have had a good experience with which you could recommend for me?

Google turned up many various sites; domestic, international, etc.. But many sites seem to sell items at a high premium coupled with unclear explanations regarding shipping methods and, or prices.

I have even looked on eBay but I am particularly concerned about the possibility of imitations, fakes or other non-authentic goods. Even when I asked a few sellers directly who had ~99% positive feedback whether the items were the originals from the various companies who produced them, many said that in fact they were not.

Any suggestions would be truly appreciated on my part!

HINDER

2 years 9 months ago

"My buddy and his friends recently went to one of their shows in Seattle. One of them had V.I.P. passes and got to hang out with the band for a while before the show. He got a lot of free stuff, CDs, shirts and various other Hinder branded items, hell, they even offered him a drink (which he didn't take because he's 16 XD)!

Anyway, after hearing about them from my buddy I have started to enjoy them; pretty easily as well since they are quite similar to Nickelback, whom I enjoy to listen to."

Eureka 7 soundtrack is the best

2 years 10 months ago

"Not only are there rock and hip hop inspired tracks, but the orchestral and electronica pieces are exceptionally well done in addition. My only qualm with the OSTs is that many of the tracks are too short, sometimes running less than two minutes for various songs. Nonetheless, Sato Naoki and the various artists who wrote and performed songs for E7 did a fantastic job.

On a side note, I had started looking at purchasing the Eureka seveN Complete Best album and then I noticed that it comes with an extra DVD containing text-less OP and ED videos as well as an extra video.

The question I have is that if I were to watch said DVD, would anything it contained spoil the anime since I have not seen the whole series yet? This is a determining factor whether or not I purchase the album at this point. If anyone out there owns this album, any information would be appreciated regarding this matter. Thank you!"

Wii...lots of crazy fun

3 years 3 days ago

"I'm currently home for Thanksgiving break and I have been playing Wii Sports, in particular, Wii Boxing. All I have to say is, minor annoyances aside (such as the occasional unresponsive punch), it is a very addictive game. I mean sure, it's simple, but I don't think I've ever had more fun flailing my arms in crazy succession and looking like a fool since I first played Dance Dance Revolution back in the day. The best part is, I could care less of what others think when I'm playing, which is more than I can say of DDR, heh!

I'm still uncertain if Nintendo will succeed in drawing in a greater demographic of people, but where they're heading seems like an intuitive direction for the future of gaming. "

your favorite sad song..

3 years 3 days ago

"Some non-anime songs that I like to listen to include "Tears in Heaven" by Eric Clapton, which has been mentioned here, "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" by George Harrison, and "Blowin' in the Wind" by Bob Dylan among other songs which do not immediately cross my mind.

A few songs from various anime are notable, which include "Blue", "See You Space Cowboy..." and "What's It Really For" by Yoko Kanno from the Cowboy Bebop OSTs and Stand Alone Complex OSTs respectively. The mother-of-all emo/angst songs "Komm, Süsser Tod" from the End of Evangelion OST (so very angst-filled) and various tracks from the Eureka seveN OSTs round out the list."

"Anyone here a fan of UFC? I just got back from a get-together with friends where we watched the pay-per-view event and, while some of the fights were pretty lame (Monson v. Silvia), the main-event between Matt Hughes and George St. Pierre was just entertainment in its purest form!

Anime Figurines

3 years 1 week ago

"I only wish that collecting anime products were easier on the pocket books! It'd be nice to be able to purchase some statues or figures, but the staggering cost of simply buying the DVDs of particular anime alone is quite a lot, with series spanning 7+ DVDs from anywhere to $20+ depending on the particularities (I know they could fit more episodes per disc without sacrificing bonus material or quality). Thus is the wonderful world of marketing I suppose.

Suffice to say though, I do own a few figures from Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd Gig that came with the special edition DVDs, which are fairly nice. I have been wanting to purchase something from Bleach and Eureka seveN, but it's just too much (I wish I had a hobby store around here that sells these kinds of products rather than having to shop online from importers etc.).

What Is The Worst Anime Opening or Ending Song For You?

3 years 2 weeks ago

"I really cannot dig the Trinity Blood first opening, although I'm basing my opinion on the butchered version that they show on [adult swim] (the only one I've seen). But the opening song doesn't sound all that special to me anyway :P

Besides that, I have to add that I love the Samurai Champloo opening animation and song! Nujabes and Shing02 are just too pro in my books (the various OSTs of Champloo were simply top notch)!"

Info regarding Eureka seveN complete best?

3 years 2 weeks ago

"I hadn't received a post in 2 weeks regarding this same subject, so I deleted the old topic and started this one in hopes of finding the information I'm searching for. The original post is quoted below and is essentially the question I'm seeking the answer for. Thanks again!

Hey, I've been watching Eureka seveN lately and have since become really attached to the music of the show (the OP and ED tracks and the stirring orchestral pieces are my favorites). I had started looking at purchasing the Eureka seveN Complete Best album when I noticed that it comes with an extra DVD containing text-less OP and ED videos as well as an extra video.

The problem, however, is that if I were to watch said DVD, I wouldn't want the anime to be spoiled by anything that the disc contains since I have not seen the whole series yet. This is a determining factor whether or not I purchase the album at this point. If anyone out there owns this album, any information would be appreciated regarding this matter. Thank you!

Dead Or Alive; Is it really just the girls or is it the fighting system?

3 years 2 weeks ago

"Eh, when me and my buds get together and play fighting games, we typically pop in Tekken, Soul Calibur, Street Fighter or Guilty Gear. DOA does sometimes find itself in the lineup, but matches typically devolved into each player just spamming the counter move again and again.

DOA is an okay fighting game; maybe not very deep or complex, but, just to shadow what everyone else is saying here, the characters and the eye-candy they provide keep it interesting far after the fighting has gone stale."

[News] Neon Genesis Evangelion's REMAKE

3 years 2 weeks ago

"Do I think that this will overshadow the original anime in any way? No, not particularly (well, maybe as far as animation quality and sound recording is concerned, but that's all technical); I don't feel that the story could get better by mere simplification, although clarification into the religious and psychological symbolism could be appreciable to some (myself included).

I do feel however, that, at the very most, these remake movies can re-tell and conclude Evangelion (hopefully it will finish with more certainty) in a manner on par with the original series. Heck, I'd like to see Shinji find courage and save the world, no matter how out of character that would be from the original (they can call it character development, haha).

Thend
Hm, weird... I guess it won't be too bad as long as they bring back the same voice actors...

I feel the same way about the voice actors, continuity is always a plus and I hope they'll bring back Shiro Saisu as the composer; I have always considered NGE's tunes unique in style and composition.

I suppose only time will tell at this point and if it's just an attempt to milk the cash cow, well, what can I say? We live in a capitalistic world, as long as a product is decent though, I am certainly more than willing to spend some additional money."
