Equality?

"Just a while ago our English class read the book "Animal Farm" and had a discussion over equality by changing a quote in the book to "All high-schoolers are equal, but some are more equal than others." I basically said that the response to this quote is dependent upon how you look at "high-schoolers" and how you look at "equality." If you look at individual traits it is impossible for people to be equal, some are smarter than others, some are more athletic than others, and some are more involved in their school than others, etc etc. With this in mind, some students who try hard but are less smart or athletic will fail to get into more prestige colleges than others, some will gain more respect from teachers, and ultimately groups of "smater" and "dumber" kids will form, thus "All high-schoolers are equal, but some are more equal than others."

However depending on how you choose to look at people in a more broad way can determine if people are equal. I do not think I am any better or worse than anyone else, I am a human living my life, you are a human living your life. Everyone has their strengths, weaknesses, relations, views, etc. I choose to think everyone in a sense of a human in existence is equal. However society in order to thrive in technology, education, economy, military, and other areas of importance, need to pick those people who are "more equal" in those respective areas than others, so discrimination starts, and pure "equality" is abolished. And of course there's racism and all that jazz.

Basically I believe to the individual, equality in humans is something that is up to you to decide. However to society, it is obvious that equality is almost impossible."

"I usually have a bad habit of looking at every character for the own merits and just end up liking everyone :x. But I'd have to say the two types of characters I go for the most are the characters who have some kind of problem (social/psychological/physical/whatever) and get over that problem in a realistic/meaningful way. Also I love characters with really different philosophies that are complex and logical.

Good examples would be Shinji (Evangelion) and Sudo (Narutaru)."

"I think that TOS: Dawn of the New World was a great game, you just have to take it for what it is. Keep in mind that it's a spin-off sequel. The story was an interesting way to show the aftermath of the first game, the new characters where in my opinion pretty interesting, and the game play twists were fun to mess with. Overall I thought the game was really fun, but it's not as epic as the first game."

How does you family feel about Anime?

"No one in my family really watches anime besides myself. My younger brother is interested, but I don't think he watches it too much. My family by no means dislikes anime, whenever they see wallpapers or any cool artwork of anime they usually comment on how cool it looks. As far as my friends go, I think they watch and talk about anime just as much as me :X."

Looks or personality?

"Personality for sure. Looks are nice, but having someone always being there for you when you need them would be ideal. I guess in a way I would look at having a girlfriend like having a best friend. I don't really pay attention (and I don't think a lot of people do), to what kind of outside appearance my best friend puts on, I just pay attention to the things we do and how awesome it is hanging out. In the same respect I would rather have awesome memories and moments with someone I can really get along with, rather than just have some shallow person that looks good.

Also for the record I'd rather have someone more "cute" than "hot". "

Console or PC?

"Overall I like the PC better than the console, but for me at least, it really depends on what you wanna play. I love competitive online games, and for that I use the PC. The controls and the community on the PC always seem better. However I also love RPGs, and of course all the the good single player RPGs are rightly on the console. Really I think a gaming system is defined by the games that are on it, and thus it depends on what your into. Hardware would, however, be a different story. "

Metal Gear Solid 5

"If they make another Metal Gear Solid game I personally would like to see Kojima work on it. However I'm the kind of person who likes good things to end before they drag on, and I think the epic story that is Metal Gear Solid should end at number 4. However if they do plan on making MGS5, it would be nice to see someone as experienced as Kojima work on it. Ultimately though I would agree with Deerstalker, the series already had a beautiful ending to me."

Code Geass Season 2 ending...

"Personally I think Lelouch dying is a more fitting ending than him living. He sacrificed himself for the people of the world, and him somehow living would, like vagoverto mentioned, would lessen the impact on his decision. He lead the world into an age of peace, at the price of denying himself from entering this world himself. Honestly I think that's far more meaningful than him living.

Also his plan just seemed brilliant, I bet the fact that his carrier had that slide was part of the plan too, so he could talk to Nunally one last time :O."

Why did you like Code Geass

"I liked Code Geass for a lot of reasons. Like people said the story was great, the mecha action was well done, character design and art were amazing, music was fitting, etc etc. However I think the thing I liked about it the most was how the series looked at each persons emotions towards the events going on. It seemed the main theme was fighting for what you think is right, fighting for happiness and for others, even if you have to take the fall yourself to do so."

Everyone hate Susaku?

"I wouldn't say I didn't like Suzaku, I just favored Lelouch, so thus I was kinda mad with how he got in Lelouch's way on occasion. However throughout the last few episodes I began to really like Suzaku, what he did in the last episode was Lelouch's (and the world's) wish, and was also his way of trying to atone for all the wrongs he did in the past. I loved the ending to the Code Geass series, and the fact that Lelouch was my favorite character made me like it even more. Although the series makes Suzaku out to be a traitor with a misguided past, in the end he becomes a hero."

"I still feel bad for Lelouch :(, but at the same time he's in a war. People suffer casualties in war, many people lost loved ones, Suzaku lost Euphie, etc etc. So although he feels terrible about Shirley's death, hopefully he realizes that this is going to be part of what he is going to have to go through if he is to take down Britania. I don't want to see Lelouch get a Light Yagami ending :X, but at the same time I don't want it to be an anime where he wins and everything is all happy with no strings attached."

"I played wow for a while, but I really didn't consider myself addicted. I often found myself getting bored and would skip out on weekend raids to do stuff with my friends :X. I have a few friends however that are addicted to games though :(."

One concern I have is that I'm unsure if the wallpaper is too cluttered. I really like how all the images are there and how the colors are so vibrant, but once again, I'm unsure if it's all a bit too much. In this response I made a version without the text and without the text/brushes. I've asked a few people and they preferred the completed version, however having session zero's opinion would help me :). Also I really didn't add a ton of brushwork or textures simply because I love the way the artwork was and didn't want to change it a lot. Anyways enough of my rantings, criticize away.

I faded the background images and lowered the saturation (although I didn't want to make them black and white, I agree that they needed to not stick out as much). I also changed the text to not included the "five".Technically that text was accurate, but that could get confusing for people who haven't played the game. I also changed the outer glow slightly to look a little more spread and blurry. Anyways these are what I got.

"Hey, although I don't think 8bit techno is an insanley popular genre, I really like it. For those who don't know the genre sounds like techno made up of bleeps and bloops that sound like they come from old NES games. I was wondering if anyone else here listened to 8bit techno, and if so, what bands do you like? Some bands I've been listening to through their myspace profiles have been Giveupnewyork, Anamanaguchi, The Dairy Products, and some atm//.
