"Personally I think any type of character can make a good series as long as the story is good enough. Personally I like this kind of character:

Female: Outgoing, long red/orange hair, takes pleasure in simple things and has many internal struggles.

Male: Again Outgoing, shortish/longish black hair, whimsical, tough (so i guess slightly muscular) and has an almost impossible dream."

Finding the Gay Gene

"This article kind of goes around the fact that there is a gay gene. It merely says there is a possibility. It gives really bad examples like the genes for stamina and such... Also it doesn't really have any contradicting views like if being gay is due to nurturing. this article was pretty much about ethics of homosexuality and choosing the destiny of one's child in general. Personally I think it's bad to do such things. Making all these choices for your kids is like re-creating yourself through them. People just need to let their kids be who they are.

Ok enough about bashing the article.

Being homosexual maybe I can help this debate. I've always thought homosexuality was based on nature, but I've seen studies that definitely say different.

On the show 60 minutes they had a news report about gay identical twins. So this brings up a point that it could possibly NOT be genetic. However, there still is the possibility that it is genetic because of the possibility of mosaic genes. It also brought up the point that for males homosexuality occurred more often if they had an older brother from the same parents(the percentage of homosexual males with older brothers was still exuberantly low. I think less than 1%). Their reasoning for this occurance was that the mother doesn't have a Y gene so her antibodies could have done something to the baby.

Ok well it's pretty much up in the air for nature vs. nurture.

If you want to talk about why homosexuals exist that's a whole new can of worms.

Like you guys said if it's to even out the population then you have to believe it's the work of a higher being or mechanism. But then again we have to think of the occurance of homosexuality in other species. Are those species over populated as well?

Another theory is choice. But I really don't agree with this theory because I don't really feel I consciously chose to be homosexual. Although I do believe SOME people choose to be homosexual for one reason pleasure. I won't go into detail, but some "straight" males enjoy gay sex. I know this is a really bad argument, but w/e it was the only other theory I could think of.

Right now I don't think anyone's going to find an answer for homosexuality. Maybe in 10+ years. But I guess we can all ponder..."

The .hack Series...

"The .hack// series is fun at first, but gets really boring pretty fast. Generally you don't spend too much time on each game. I remember beating the 3rd game in like 2 days... The difficulty of the games is pretty easy too. Once you've beaten one you can beat them all. The story is pretty interesting and there are a lot of characters so there are a lot of "personalities" in the game. The worst thing about the series is how it's split into 4 parts when it's practically the same game in all 4 parts. The game play does not change so you can keep all the items from the previous games, which I guess is a plus. The story evolves little by little through each game and at times it kind of goes no where.

So pretty much it's good, but seems too drawn out."

"I go by art. If I like it I'll read it. I don't like to read reviews because it spoils the story. Even if it isn't in depth it still spoils the experience of learning about the world in a manga."

Japamese Anime Style

"Uhh I wouldn't say it has anything to do with genes... More like how they are taught and what style the want to draw in. In terms of unique-ness in japanese animation, there is A LOT. If you generally only watch anime you may not see a huge difference, but if you read a lot of manga you can "get to know" a mangaka's art style. As for the archetypes of anime (big eyes and such) usually that's seen in a wide variety of shoujo anime and some shounen anime that become mainstream.

Anyway I don't really think art style really has to do with regional boundaries, but more on how a person wants to draw."

"Umm I think being honest is wayyy more important. I mean if someone isn't stimulating mentally then it's kind of a waste of time right? Plus sexiness is in the eye of the beholder. Not to mention if you really really like someone of course they're gonna look sexy to you.

Honestly though people in general like "sexy" people. Physical attraction just compels people, and it is the first thing people judge a person on. If you've ever had a boyfriend/girlfriend ask yourself what was the very first thing that attracted you? It's probably a physical feature. In the end it's just how the mind works I guess."

"I like modern style I guess or something funky. I like some of the outfits in Eureka SeveN. Mainly what the kids wear. I also like the stuff in Erementar Gerad.

"Usually they aren't my favorite genre, but there are a lot of good ones in this genre. Higurashi no Naku Koro ni is one of the best in this genre. Also Speed Grapher is pretty dark cuz they all have gross fetishes...

But if you love dark animes there are WAYY darker manga. The only one I've read is Homonculus which is crazy!"

"I know everyone loves Hagaren, but I love Eureka SeveN way more. I like the character development better. It defiantly has more of a love story, but it also deals with how people understand each other. Hagaren deals with how organizations can look good on the outside but be corrupt on the inside. So I thought Eureka SeveN had more of a personal feel. Plus I love the genres Mecha, shounen, space-age and of course love."

"I don't think they should make DDR for wii... It would be pointless. The fun about DDR is playing on a pad, which wouldn't utilize the Wii's full potential. Even if it was ported to the Wii it would be like the PS2 games that utilized the "Eye Toy" in which you played on the pad but also had to use your hands for some moves."
