Have you ever missed school even though you weren't sick?Why?

"My parents let me skip every once in a while, just because. My dad called it a "Mental Health Day". XD My parents would just write the school a note saying I was sick, and that was that. I always made really good grades anyway, so they figured I deserved it.

Once my parents wanted to go on vacation in the middle of the semester, so they scheduled it for a short week of school (we already had two days off that week), and wrote the school a note for the remaining days, saying my grandfather died. ^^;"

Why did your parents put you that name???

"I was named Jessica because it was one of the most popular girls names at the time. My mom is very uncreative.

The plan originally was to name me Simone, but my dad was late arriving at the hospital, and at the last minute my mom changed her mind and named me before he got there.

She did keep the middle name they planned for me, though - Elise. My dad's mother came up with that one."

"I'm left-handed, but I don't use anything especially made for left-handers. When I was in school they taught me to use my right hand for the mouse, and it's just stuck. At this point, I wouldn't know how to use my left hand to control it. But it's still the only thing I use my right hand for. XD

I don't like most tools made for left-handers, like left-handed scissors and mouses. I'm used to just using right-handed things, though I usually use them with my left hand. When I was in first grade they would make me use the left-handed scissors, even though I didn't know how to use them (because it wasn't fair for me to hog the right-handed ones, or whatever). My first grade teacher would also get annoyed with me because I didn't hold my pencil 'correctly', not realizing (or not caring) that most left-handers hold their pencils differently.

My dad and my uncle were originally left-handed, but they were made to switch to using their right hands in school. That was pretty common at the time, from what I'm told. I also had several teachers in school who told me that they were forced to switch to writing with their right hands when they were children.

My husband is also left-handed. He was originally ambidextrous when he was a small child, but he had a speech impediment associated with it, so they suggested that he choose a hand. He chose the left hand, and lost the speech impediment."

FMA, Naruto Or InuYasha?

"Naruto would be my first favorite. I love the manga and the anime (I don't count the fillers against it - I just don't watch them). It's hard to say whether I prefer Inuyasha or FMA next... I really like them both."

Which is better? Bleach or Naruto.

"I prefer Naruto. I don't know what it is, but even though I watch the anime and occasionally read the manga, Bleach just hasn't managed to suck me in like Naruto has. I keep hearing from many people how much better Bleach is than Naruto, but it just doesn't do it for me.

The characters seem to be a big factor for me. I just don't care about the characters in Bleach as much as I do in the characters in Naruto. Maybe as I get further into Bleach's story that will change. I do like Bleach quite a lot, though. I just don't like it as much as I do Naruto."

What's your most and least favorite month and why?

"I hate the summer months, especially July and August. They're miserably hot, and our electric bill doubles because of the air conditioning.

My favorites would probably be October and the beginning of November. The weather is a bit cooler, and all the holiday crap hasn't quite started up yet."

"I just use a regular TV, 32 inch. We chose it because it was cheap and big (bigger than any TV I've ever had, anyway). "

"I don't like spicy food. I don't have much tolerance for it, and I find that a lot of the time it just ruins an otherwise good dish. If the food is really good, and it's not too spicy, I can sometimes tolerate it."

What will you do to your anime collection if you have grown and become parents??

"I'm already an adult... but I don't have kids. Anyway, I intend to keep it right where it is, on the shelf next to the rest of my DVD collection. If I do have kids in the future, I'll probably just show it to them. XD"

"The first anime I ever saw was Hana Yori Dango, in 1999. I went over to a friend's house, and she had ordered the series from overseas. But I only got to watch a few episodes.

Do you wake up in a bad mood?

"I only wake up in a bad mood if I have to get up before I'm ready. It's worse if I'm woken up by an alarm or someone who's REALLY perky in the morning.

When I was little, my dad was always really cheerful in the morning, and when he woke me up he'd sing. It always really pissed me off, which is exactly why he did it. XD

But my bloodtype is O, so I don't think that has anything to do with it. ;D"

What would you do if you had no internet for a month?

"Gah, I don't know. The internet is where we get most of our entertainment at home.

Last year when we moved we were without internet for a week (there was a miscommunication with our DSL provider). Luckily we had a lot of shows backed up that we hadn't gotten around to watching, so it wasn't too bad.

I suppose I'd watch a lot of TV and movies, and see if I could find anything I'd want to read at our crappy library. I'd keep the house extremely clean, and drive my cats insane because I'd never leave them alone. XD"

What series got you into anime?

"The first anime I ever saw was Hana Yori Dango. It was when I was a senior in high school, and I had a friend that used to watch a lot of anime. I was over at her house, and her tapes of it had just arrived. I think they were fansubs or bootlegs or something. XD Come to think of it, that was also the first subtitled... anything that I had ever watched.

I didn't really get into anime until Inuyasha, though. My husband watched it on Cartoon Network, and I made fun of it while I was on the computer. I started listening along and getting into the storyline, and before I knew it I was watching it too."

"My dad has seen some of Trigun and Gundam Wing, and now he thinks anime sucks. I've tried to tell him that's not all there is to it, but he's stubborn.

Still, I think I could get him to watch some if it was dubbed (he hates subtitles), and we didn't call it anime. XD"

City vs. Country

"Even when I lived in the city, I couldn't find anything to do. I just don't enjoy many of the city activities. In the country, on the other hand, I always had things to do. Mostly I just loved being able to go outside, and the peace and quiet.

Now I live somewhere in between. It's not a big town, but a town nonetheless. Eventually we hope to buy some property and move out to the country."

"I download. We have it rigged so that we can watch the downloaded episodes on our TV, so that's part of the reason. And the quality of the downloaded episodes is a ton better. I can hardly tell what's going on in some of those Youtube videos.

Usually I'll delete episodes after I'm done to save space, unless it's a series I really like and will want to watch again. Then I burn them to discs until I can get real DVDs. "

I remember hearing some of the songs on the radio when my mom would drive me to school, and I would always sing along. Pets?

"I have four cats. The oldest is Ranma, who we think is around five. We really have no idea, since we picked him up as a stray. He was abandoned by his previous owners, so far as we can tell. He has tuxedo markings, and he's pretty big at 16 pounds. He's a big wuss.

Minerva is next, and she is actually the first cat my husband and I got. She's three (nearly four). Her fur is gray with brown and white blotches here and there. She's kind of stand-offish, preferring to watch rather than join in.

The other two are siblings, Gaara and Temari. We got them last summer, when my father found them abandoned in a convenience store parking lot. They were only five weeks old at the time. Temari is the bigger of the two, kind of chubby, with solid gray fur. She's the nicest of our cats. Gaara is the smallest of all our cats, at only eight pounds. He's a long, skinny tabby. And he's EVIL. He thinks he's the top cat in the house, and none of the others care to correct him."
