"Here is what I would do:
• Diverge from the all-orange scheme a bit. A cloudy layer with Hue overlay mode could do the trick.
• Remove the white strike. It's awful.
• Add a reason why the character to the right is so large. I know that you mean her to be "near" and it probably lacks the legs anyway, but try to underscore the proximity with some lighting, anything.
• The default Mincho font is indeed cheap. I've also used a serif kanji font once, but at least I used Kochi Mincho, which is a bit more fancy variant available for free. Here I suggest, if you have access to a scanner or a camera, to draw the "ikkitousen" kanji by hand and then transfer it into the computer. It should have more success if some IRL effort is put in.

I do agree that capitalism is quite close to the jungle's workings, but it also seems so because we are taught to think so from the start. Working for the good of the whole population is common in nature too and we are yet to find an establishment that would include both the good aspects of each "wing".

Download NTFILMON (FileMonitor) from sysinternals.com and see what accesses the files most often.
Run MSCONFIG and try to disable some start-up programs not from Microsoft. In fact, disabling any such programs won't cause unbootable computer, so just try it.
Download SpeedFan, go to it's SMART tab and check the "Fitness" parameter of your disk. If it appears to fail, replace it.

"I've never had the same problem, but you can invoke Start Menu / Mozilla Firefox / ...Safe Mode. This will let you find out if it's some plug-in.
If you want a new install, you MUST manually delete c:\program files\mozilla firefox AND c:\documents and settings\<YOUR NAME>\application data\mozilla. (Warning: This method is aggressive, you will lose all FF settings.)
As for the memory requirements, ff uses about 30 MB RAM more than IE, perhaps because FF carries it's own implementation of everything while IE uses the OS libraries already shared in memory used by the OS.
But once FF is loaded, this makes no difference in the speed of the browsing. The loading times will, of course, differ from browser to browser, but all are reasonably fast today and you should choose according to the security and features more." View

"I had to upgrade from 512 MB RAM to 1 GB just because of Photoshop 6 back then. Trust me, it needs a LOT of RAM.
The Windows defragmenter is not too good and it may not recover ANY free space, plus it won't really optimize all the files it could. I suggest that you keep your hard drive somewhat empty (no more than 80% taken). The paging file won't be defragmented anyway, so unless you use a good third-party program (Raxco PerfectDisk), the defragmenter won't do any of it's claimed goals properly.
If you are unsure about spyware, run Spybot and Spyware Terminator (both free), you may also try AdAware. This makes sense.
Please also use SFDRVREM to remove STARFORCE which is not detected otherwise and also makes the system slow and unstable." View

Power outage reflashing BIOS?

Has anyone ever heard of a power outage reflashing/reseting BIOS? My power went out the other day for about 45 minutes and when it came back on all my BIOS settings were changed and it's reporting that my Athlon XP 2800 (which should opperate at 2.25GHz) is only running at 1.25GHz. I also think my RAM is being underclocked...
Normally I would just right this off as a misreporting, but I definately notice a difference when playing Oblivion. My framerate chugs where it was rock solid before.
That's nothing, you just need to set up the FSB and the multiplicator properly in your BIOS. This is a different problem than when the power fails during flashing. Please don't mix the incomparable." View

First time buying a mobo, and i got an ABIT from newegg. The user's comments was really positive, they all said that it was stable and reliable, doesnt bug out etc. I decided why wait, ill buy it!. Turns out, the layout for the IDE was sub par, if not horrible in all. specific location of the IDE cables is bottom right, and instead of the slots be facing the upwards direction, it points to the side, and therefore was a pain to try to connect the cd rom at the top, and my hard drive at the bottom. They also gave me a broken IDE cable... *sigh* After connected everything, it works fine. Gonna be a pain to replace the hard drive when I wanna do it soon-ish.
My advice is to use 2 cables - a CD burner should be on a single cable after all." View

The only advantage of Intel is it's idiotically easy installation and maintenance. You can be a noob and just put it together like a Lego and it will work on the first plugging into the wall outlet. Every socket and hook is so made that you can hardly do it wrong. They started preparing a readily usable layer of silicone paste on the heatsink when other heatsinks had just a syringe with it separately. But the paste in the syringe doesn't obviously dry out, which is where we get to the overall advantages of AMD." View
What is the truth about LCD Screens ? Tell me ?

"Definitely avoid the 1280x1024 models! The aspect ratio is very badly chosen, it will limit you in everything. You'll need even different wallpapers for it! I bought a 20" LCD with 1600x1200 and it's right suitable.
When choosing it, pay attention to these:
- Aspect ratio: Never 5:4; choose either standard 4:3 (1600x1200) or 16:9. (Avoid 16:10).
- Brightness curve: Bother and CHECK if the monitor can make difference between, for example, 95% white and 100% white. Some cheap models have dodged curve to simulate higher "contract" at the price of untrue color transmission. Make a pic with a black-to-white bar, bring it and have it displayed. It might be necessary to adjust brightness/contrast, but don't let them brush you off and TRY before you buy.
- Dead pixels. Display a white fullscreen and look for any defects. Smudge a spot with finger if uncertain. Then do the same with an all-black picture (but not shut down, haha)
- Response time. Mine has 16ms and when I switched to it, I noticed a late mouse response. I'm used to it now, but expect it to lag a little bit. You will get used to it fast.
There is no problem with movies, the blurriness seen in older models is history now." View
