"AMD has better price/performance ratio, both absolutely and relatively. I and my friends always buy it. It also lasts longer. Try comparing a 3 years-old Pentium to a 3 y/o Athlon and you will see the difference - AMD is longer usable.
The only advantage of Intel is it's idiotically easy installation and maintenance. You can be a noob and just put it together like a Lego and it will work on the first plugging into the wall outlet. Every socket and hook is so made that you can hardly do it wrong. They started preparing a readily usable layer of silicone paste on the heatsink when other heatsinks had just a syringe with it separately. But the paste in the syringe doesn't obviously dry out, which is where we get to the overall advantages of AMD."

What is the truth about LCD Screens ? Tell me ?

"Definitely avoid the 1280x1024 models! The aspect ratio is very badly chosen, it will limit you in everything. You'll need even different wallpapers for it! I bought a 20" LCD with 1600x1200 and it's right suitable.
When choosing it, pay attention to these:
- Aspect ratio: Never 5:4; choose either standard 4:3 (1600x1200) or 16:9. (Avoid 16:10).
- Brightness curve: Bother and CHECK if the monitor can make difference between, for example, 95% white and 100% white. Some cheap models have dodged curve to simulate higher "contract" at the price of untrue color transmission. Make a pic with a black-to-white bar, bring it and have it displayed. It might be necessary to adjust brightness/contrast, but don't let them brush you off and TRY before you buy.
- Dead pixels. Display a white fullscreen and look for any defects. Smudge a spot with finger if uncertain. Then do the same with an all-black picture (but not shut down, haha)
- Response time. Mine has 16ms and when I switched to it, I noticed a late mouse response. I'm used to it now, but expect it to lag a little bit. You will get used to it fast.
There is no problem with movies, the blurriness seen in older models is history now."

c'mon, this is the internet. it is no surprise at all that images are "stolen" from all over the place.
there's just no way to 100% "protect" your stuff/images once you post them... if you post anything you have to realize that someone somewhere IS GOING TO TAKE IT and do what they want with it... unless you have a staff of hot shot lawyers at your beck and call to go after each and every joker who takes your images then you just have to accept that it will happen... or... don't post anything then nothing will get taken...
I think that you are right. My wallpapers were also posted on *chan several times, but I guess it's a fair deal, as I downloaded much more off there."

animals should have been wild and left that way, pets should be illegal in my opinion.
My point is that no one ever keeps them for real anyway, especially if the pet gets more and more a family...
like duh... rabbits.

You don't have to remind me of RABBITS. My friend saw one in a shopping center and want him because of the cuteness. So he bought him. The pets are surprisingly cheap, far less than a tamagotchi, for example. And he bought a book about how to care about it, but never read it. I did, but he wasn't interested. So he endlessly neglected the poor animal and he died a half year later.
I think that the pets as seen in the flats should be definitely forbidden."

When I was in high school a Geogaphy teacher once told the class that one of the reasons why there is so much fighting between countries in the world today is because most countries are ruled by men. Appparently because men are seen to be more aggresive and prone to violence than women, having them as leaders imply situations solved with fighting. When situations between countries find no other supposed means other than slugging it out, the world finds more and more lethal weapons to boost male leaders' chances of winning.

Hence this teacher of mine said that studies have shown that if women were to rule the world (and I don't mean world domination here), there would be a lesser likelihood of wars erupting. This is because it was regarded that women are more friendly with one another and will talk things out, instead of whipping out their guns and shooting whoever ticks them off. Translated into political leadership this suggests that if more women took to the helm of leadership in countries, there would less fighting and suffering out there.

Personally I do agree that men are more likely to use violence as a swift & aggressive means to conflict-resolution (blame it on the testosterone if you will), whereas women like to talk things out first. However sometimes I see my female peers and the way they act, and this leads me to have doubts about whether are they truly the fairer sex (bullying boys do not make them seem fairer to me).

Thus I throw the question to everyone who reads this thread: do you think if women were world leaders instead of men, there'd be less wars & the world'd be a better place? What do you think?
It's hard to put this in words, but women are not quite suited for this job. Although I agree there won't be so many wars in total, the ones that would emerge would be far less rational and wasteful than the current wars. Mens' wars are typically for: Land, Religion, Money+Oil. These support the war starter if won. However, women would have different motivations. A mere argument would make them kill the citizens of other countries. The ability of men to say "Shut up" is important."

Ever bitten by your own dog before?

"My parents believe that a dog that bites any member of his "human family" shall be terminated. (We don't own a dog.) But something happened to the neighbors: They had a child. Not sure of the age, probably still a baby. They had a huge dog, I'm not sure of the breed, perhaps a dobberman. And the dog bit the child in the neck and almost killed it, the doctors finally saved his life. And the parents just commented that the child must have provoked the dog and therefore it's not the dog's fault.
I'm dizzy about this outcome and know the dog from sight - it's very violent. I believe that the parents should have killed or at least sold him away to protect everyone around."

My mom broke my PS2 by chucking it on garage floor.
She then threw it out.
I had $400 worth of games.
I gave them away.

One of my hobbies was to read manga on computer.
Back in my old country, you could just buy an officially translated versions
for $3 per volume.
Since Canada sells them at like $15, I decided to read them on computer.
My mom noticed that my new hobby
took an hour per day to enjoy.
I was banned from computer manga-ing.

I had just started watching anime a month ago.
I always prefer manga since each cut/scene is a work of art
and I can enjoy original story at my pace.
Well, whatever, better than nothing, I thought.
I watched Ghost in the Shell, Noir, Hellsing
and was at ep 20 of both Samurai Champloo and Trigun.
I was banned from watching anime on computer.

Asian parents... lol

My parents don't have an idea about anime or manga. And if they broke my PC, they would experience such a mayhem that Bin Laden would seem like a baby compared to me!"

If someone did that i would either fight back or Defend for my life or try and get a weapon however what if it was someone close to you what will you do? (i would do the right thing and try to kill them)!
The person would be right to kill me - there must be a reason. I'd wait and hope that it's going to be over fast. At least my family won't get a stigma of a suicidal member."

Ladies give some advice to all the men out there who cant do anything but lie, just to get there way.

Here's one.... Listen to them. the key to a good relationship is to listen to your partner and of course mutual respect while discussing important matters in the couple.

Another... Expect the unexpected. You cant see future events and they will develop.Of course there will be bumps in the road but stay as a team during those hard to deal times and you will see that those bumps will pass faster or easier.
I don't know. My parents don't really respect anyone and anything, so I only know that if the "Shut up" doesn't work, one has to bang the other person to achieve a temporary silence. We are somewhat tense due to this, but it won't change."

"I like the last one with the blanket the most, but the checkerboard-like pink lines are parallel to the screen sides. Try rotating that layer a bit. The first one has the "plant"-like ornaments too regularly one above another, more randomness perhaps. I really think that all of them are good now."

"This CG is overused and the bg is just lines. It would be very hard to make an original wallpaper (non-repetitive) with this one. Think about some area they visited in the anime (Okinawa) and do a bg with it. It's only a suggestion too."

"Please learn how to spell decision, too many people on the forums mistype this word and it bugs me hard.

To the problem:
It's as nasty as it is. They want you to have lots of money for awaited children's upbringing. You may either (1) have the money, (2) borrow stuff and say it's yours, or lastly (3) lie about having stuff.
Ever wondered why speedy cars and huge swimming pools are associated with beautiful hotties? Because they see it as proofs of wealth. Reason given above.

I'll tell you a story from real life. I have already mentioned it on a few forums, but people being forgetful as they are, I'll repeat it.
My friend dated a girlfriend. They had known each other for 2 years then. But his school ended and he was supposed to get a job. He was (and still is) extremely slothy. He kept lying on the floor letting his mother bring him the basic food. (He is not ill or something.) The girlfriend finally decided to leave him despite that he loved her and her past claims that she loved him as well. He was very sick for 3 days (sounds like a fairy-tale, it might had been 4 days, in fact) and then he announced that he'd found a really well-paid job. (I believe that he lies with the sum though, even to me and his parents, because this way, he is valued high.) The girl flipped like a dog who had suddenly smelt a fresh excrement and the relationship was restored.

Let this be a warning to all you guys: Keep money at all costs, prepare for the worst when getting poor."
