After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

Anyone like the new Animepaper?
3 years 10 months ago
"V4 runs circles around v3. It has a lot more to do, has many great new features, and has many improvements over already-existing ones, and the color scheme is real easy on the eyes (although that's not a major plus with the advent of shared styles :P). It makes using AP more convenient, productive, and conventional. Of course, attuning to the new CSS will take some time to get down, but it's like that with every new design."View
Reasons for being a parent?
3 years 10 months ago
"... and even human love is bounded by desire and selfishness. In fact, I think such two basic attributes fuel our human instincts. As mentioned before, there is no unselfish reason to have children. It's probably not a matter of whether to have kids or not because its selfish, but a matter of other factors too -- and I don't know of any other factors right now because I'm not exactly experienced at life (I'm only 16, never experienced love or anything like that -- I suck!). To not have kids just merely because is selfish (without any other logical reasoning) is simply sentimental and will get you nowhere."View
Reasons for being a parent?
3 years 10 months ago
"You got some pretty good reasons on "not being a parent," I would try to help with answering/refuting/qualifying them all, but I'm about to head out to tennis practice in about 5, so I'll take on the one that intrigues me the most: #8.It depends on how you see a "unique experience" as. Some can see it as selfish (which is true, since it would be about you, not them), and some can see it as a part of life, selfish, selfless, or beneficial (how I see things ;)). But think about all the other mundane and unique experiences you had in your life alike. I'm pretty sure you experienced something in life, and since you experienced these things, then you could say in a way that it's selfish too since such experiences manifest your own growth and learning as derived from it. So this idea can extend way beyond parenting -- it can apply to just about any other entity in the world, not just in this context. If the world lived by avoiding selfishness, the human race would be doomed without future generations as we would know it (assuming we factor out unintended pregnancies and the like).
I'll be back to post more later!"

A universal language
3 years 10 months ago
"Good point, learning other languages isn't so bad, in fact, it can be fun sometimes (except when you're studying Spanish and Japanese at the same time like I am ~_~). However, yes, that would be convenient if there was one universal, standardized world language that everybody can use to communicate with everyone else in the world, but asking for something as convenient as this oversimplifies the issue of communication and language problems around the world (see posts above on what I mean). However, a universal language is beginning to develop and take hold in our midsts -- English. While not regarded as the most spoken language in the world, it is indeed an international language, and the most spoken and studied second language in the world. So, technically, you can say English is slowly becoming a "universal" language that we can use to communicate with just about anybody else in the world. It's still quite a far ways to go to be dubbed as a "universal" language, but for what we have now, it's about as close as we can get for the time being. :)

Ultra cool but banned Xbox360 commercial

"A thread like this already exists. :P Although, it is a bit old... click hereThe commercial wasn't actually banned, it's just that Microsoft has held back on airing it, or decided not to air it at all. It was leaked to the public before its intended release date."

GO and GA characters in Hirigana

"Either that, or your Kana chart only includes the basic Hiragana sounds, and not the additional daku-on and handaku-on sounds. Once you get the basic symbols and sounds down, learning the additional sounds and their combinations isn't so difficult."View
Graphics Tablet and Tablet Pen

"I don't own one right now, but I have a friend who does artwork with something like that and she likes it. I think of it as vectoring, except you get to use your hands (something that's actually made for drawing! Who needs the mouse??) instead of trying to use the mouse. I tried drawing on it once, and it was pretty cool. Drawing with my hand sure beats drawing with the mouse. If you prefer to draw with your hand and bring it to the computer screen, then it's probably right for you. Either way, if you do buy it and don't like it, you can always return it. :P"View
The PC

"A PC is not "just another gaming console," A PC is a PC. Sure you can play games with it, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's a console like the other actual consoles. It's a personal computer. There's a major difference between a "console" and a "computer," I'll let you refer to the dictionary on that one. :)"

The PC

"You make it sound like consoles have not already been trying -- they have been, and are failing miserably at it (except for its capability to connect to the Internet, albeit at an expensive price). Take the XBox for example, it's a sturdy, half-revolutionary console with awesome graphics, capabilities to play on XBox Live with other people, and has a price that owns the contents of your wallet. Not to mention, it also could play DVDs/movies and the like. Now we have the XBox 360, with a price that'll own your life savings, and tries very much to act like a PC -- plays movies, has a media center, nice Internet capability, and dishes out a lot of media wealth besides just playing games.Don't get me wrong, I'm not disapproving of consoles in any way, I'm merely pointing out how some of them are beginning to be more like PCs and other electronics so they can be worth the buy, despite the fact that such features only up the price some more. :P"

"There are pros and cons for each type of gaming. I used to be a hard-playing console gamer when I was a young kid, then I found out about the PC. There are things about PC gaming that you just can't experience with the console -- and there are also things about console gaming that you just can't experience with the PC. Me being the RPG gamer/FPS/strategy kind of guy, I prefer the PC over the console, but there are game genres that I enjoy on the console too. The only problem is, all I got's a gaming PC, but not a console (a bit broke, see...).I don't expect PCs to dominate the gaming market anytime soon; they'll only dominate multiplayer gaming, because the PC is meant for that. XBox and Halo 2 can try all they can to overtake the PC in multiplayer gaming, but it just doesn't stand a chance against something that's meant to play online with other people."

when your first love come back (and is hot )
3 years 11 months ago
"Okay, I'm not exactly all that great of a social/love person (which may explain why I'm single, hehe), so please bear, but it seems you're in a pretty tight spot. :PPersonally, if I was in this situation, my best bet (and probably one of the safest) is to make use of time: Don't make a decision right away, rather, get to know your sides better. Sure she's beautiful and "charmante" on the outside, but after all these years of not seeing her, do you have the slightest idea of her personality or how she's really like now? Probably not (correct me if I'm wrong). Before making your decision, you should spend more time knowing this other person better and seeing how she's really like, while still maintaining the relationship with your current girlfriend. Once you've done that, you can figure out the best decision easier. In the end, it's all totally up to you, there are pros and cons for doing one of the either, hope this helps -- I ain't all that great as you can see."

Justified War?
3 years 11 months ago
"That's still a way to resolve something, be it "right" or "wrong," correct? Forcing things one's own way is a way to resolve an issue, albeit in a very unfavorable fashion for the opposing side -- you're right. Of course it's never a justified or a right thing to do, but it is still a way to solve something (that doesn't mean that all the other practical, more peaceful solutions should be voided, though).
Take for example the American Revolution -- the colonists wanted their own ways to be done, the British wanted their own ways to be done also. Tensions arose, and no fair solution could be found between the two, so they resorted to war -- and the colonists had their own way which eventually paved the way to the founding of the US. I am definitely sure there could have been other ways to resolve both sides' grievances besides going to war, but none were to be found at the time. Obviously, I didn't do my homework when talking about the Revolution, but it gives a general idea. Engaging in a war of any kind is never right, ethical, or justified; however, it is one of many ways to resolve an issue, but it should stay at the bottom of the list of options to use to resolve an issue, or be completely off of it."

Justified War?

"Pretty much -- we're just there to ensure the safety of the upcoming elections and to keep the insurgent threats at bay. Hostile forces are still around Iraq, albeit a bit scattered out right now. Of course, war is never justified -- killing people to solve an issue; smart. War is indeed bad, but for some reason in our world, it solves things (look at back at all the wars in history and their aftermath effects)."View
Religion

"Indeed, a thread similar to this already exists. I'll give my two cents nonetheless:I'm Catholic, but I could care less. I'm not a religious fanatic as I've said somewhere else. I'm usually too lazy to go to church (in fact, that's my only reason why I don't go to church sometimes on Sundays :P), but hell, I like to go just because there are so many people there. It's like a religious social thing; it's fun sometimes."

What are you going to do for New Year's?
3 years 11 months ago
"Instead trying to make smart remarks about what I am planning on doing for New Year's (or as a New Year's resolution), I'll just be honest: I think I'm going to go out with family on that day and go get fat off restaurant buffet food or something, or maybe we'll just all chill out at home and do our own things like we usually do when we're all at home. That's how boring we are. :P"View
Heaven & Hell
3 years 11 months ago
"To play around: Heaven is above us, and Hell is below us; Earth is just right between the two -- it makes logical sense, doesn't it? It also would imply that in a way, Earth is the combination of Heaven and Hell, which may explain why there is so much evil as there is good in this world. I think about them often, because it's a cool idea (if it really really exists), but I'm not that much of a religious fanatic to think about the two seriously. On a side note, since Earth is between the two, I propose we nickname this place "Hellven" or "Heavell." :P"
