Languages

"I'm an Asian American, and I currently know English and Vietnamese -- I used to know Chinese too but ever since my dad divorced with my mom some many years back, I totally forgot the language. :( Right now I'm currently learning Spanish and Japanese, so that totals to attempting to know 4 languages. I think that's not bad if I managed to speak all 4 half-decently. :P I really have a lot of fun learning new languages, I dunno why, heh.

I also "celebrate" just about every holiday on the calendar as an excuse to be lazy or miss school or work or something like that, I am really horrid, aren't I? "

Wolf's Rain Wallpaper

"Don't forget to put your signature and last-minute copyright claims and stuff at the bottom of your wallpaper... you wouldn't want it rejected because you forgot that. :) Anyway, I personally think it looks and feels better without the wolf, because with the wolf so brightly colored in the foreground, it's diverting a lot of attention from other elements of the wallpaper, like the other two characters and the background itself.

They both look good though, so I guess the choice is really yours!"

"I don't get it, why is it that even though we watched a movie we like already, we always have the desire to watch it again and again...? we already know what will happen, we already know who dies, who lives, who kisses who, etc etc. I watch the Lord of the Rings series over and over again when I have the time, but I could never quite understand why I keep on watching it, despite knowing everything that's about to happen.

Anybody else get this awkward feeling, or care to explain why? :P"

"I'm not trying to be a jerk, but to spit out my opinion in all honesty: It looks like you could use more work on it! It looks as if you slapped a scan onto a picture and used a few filters here and there, with some nice text. The focus and detail are not working together. I think you can do a lot more with it. Remember that a wallpaper is much like a piece of art (like a painting or a mural!), as such, your artistic vision should be (or just about be) the same. Read the AP Guide on Wallpapers to ask yourself some general questions on evaluating your wallpaper. In short, you need to invest more effort and artistic composition. :) Good luck, hope I helped you a wee bit."

"Green Day's Dookie is a classic, I'm not exactly a fan of their later albums as their whole music aura and attitude change. I'm not a hardcore punk rock fan in general, I just mainly like listening to it because of its rhythm and sounds, and I can say the same for just about any other music genre too. My tastes are not limited to punk rock. ;)"

"There's no such thing as "mature prank" is there? :P Just yesterday some noobs brought some sort of a homemade device that acted pretty much like a bottle rocket, except it was really small and could fit nicely in the palm of your hand. Anyway, during passing period, in the middle of a large, moving crowd, the guys lit it, placed it on the ground where everybody's feet went about, and it blasted fast and high into the air (around a hundred or so feet) before it disappeared. Funny thing is, nobody caught them. O_O"

"People are in it for the money now... or that's how I see it anyway. They make movies which carry a sad excuse for creativity, impression, and/or uniqueness just to rack in some money... that's why some movie makers resort to creating movies based from games, books, or even just simple sitcoms (although some of them are well done and good, but the majority just plain suck). I don't expect much in Final Destination 3 to be different... after all, it's the same old "same old," just with different characters, setting, and sad attempts at a few twists to try to break away from the standard plot chain that we so oftenly see in almost every movie these days. I hope the movie industry can get its act back together and gather some more inspiration to create better movies."

how do you submit scan or wallpaper

like I said I don't know much about how to make wallpaper, but recently I was able to capture some picture from the anime series that I have. Can I submit that or do I have to do some artwork with it before submit? it is 680x480 format, I think that is the stander size for most wallpaper..avage about 1276KB.

Hillo, myenson. Please read the AP Guide (particularly, the scans guide in your case) to know what's allowed and what's not. In short, 680x480 is way too small for a scan, even for a wallpaper. Scans must be absolutely large enough for somebody to be able to make a decent 1600x1200 wallpaper. Read the scans guide here. Hope this helps. :)"

"After having read the 6 books so far, and watching the first three movies, I wouldn't say I'm all that hyped up for the 4th installment of the movie series. After all, in most cases, books are always more interesting than the movies, because the books tell everything in as much time as you want it to. Movies have to literally skim through the book in a matter of 1 and a half to two hours. Imagine how long a movie would be if it attempted to base itself word for word off the book.

I really enjoy the efforts put into movies based off books though, because the visualizations and imaginations of a director of the book, after having read the book, can really come to life on the big screen for all of us to see and truly visualize. Usually, books are more interesting and revealing, but its movie versions are, most of the time, more visually appealing. So, in short, if I have some cash to spare for movie tickets, I'll most likely watch it in the theaters and see if its visual portrayal of the book will be similiar to how I visualized it. :)"

If you haven't thought of it already, since you're doing a consensus of what everybody uses and will "inform" your audience of the latest stuff, why not try using statistics in your speech? It'd demonstrate that you know your stuff (teheh!) and you did your research and collecting. Just merely talking about such programs won't do you much good; talk about the multitudes of people who use these programs and who uses program A more than program B, and such. :) Good luck with your speech, I hope it'll go well for you."

"Although it's simple, the color selection, in my opinion, sucks. It just doesn't seem to blend in with the characters or capture any essence of artistry or mood. Don't get me wrong, simple wallpapers are fantastic if they are done correctly. You can take another step to making it better if you play around with the background colors a bit, and find one that suits the characters particularly well. The character shadows aren't necessarily needed either, especially with a generic background.

The extraction work is nice overall, just the guy on the left needs some extra fine-tuning, especially on his arms. Keep working on it, and it'll turn good!"

"It's funny to see how soccer moms and overly-zealous people and organizations complain, argue, and constantly attempt to censor such content found in video games, and then whine to the government. My real question is why they don't do the same for movies, TV shows, and books... they are just as analogous as video games. It's totally unfair for those who play games. Games do not promote violence, sex, or any of that propaganda; they merely harbor it. It's not like you see games with direct or implied subliminal messages going "Do what I did, folks, kill everybody you see!" Just remember that it is a form of entertainment and human leisure (along with movies, TV shows, and books), and as such, you should not censor or whine about it."
