"I used the colors that are used during the opening of the show.

As for the font, I haven't gotten around to selecting a little more stylish font.

File has been updated with Warmer colors.

As for adding to the simplicity, what would you suggest?"

i know, i read your post and everything, but what i'm saying is that
her opacity is too low, even if you do want to preserve the feeling because the bg is kinda taking over the whole desktop

especialy at her fingers,
so wait, i didn't really get what you were saying but, basically you just merged two scans together, sort of?
i'm not sure if that will work, honestly, because usually you have to make your own bg
although it looks nice

"I made this wallpaper by merging two similar scans of a Street (With out Lain), and one with Lain standing on the street. I then extracted her, keeping her in the same place and did various tweaks with filters, pattern overlays and radial blurs to make it look like she was out of phase, but still looked pixelated, keeping with the Technical theme of the show.

"I did that because in real life, at night, with no lights, with a bright souce of lights (Like Mai's Child there), it would look similar to this.

"Photobucket doen't resize if the image is under 512kb (There's a setting that you have to change in your account settings), and it looks 1600x1200 to me.

"Here are two updates

Changed the background to red, as suggested. haven't done any brush work yet, I'm browsing a brush site as I type this to find some decent ones. Any suggestions on what type of brushes?

I also changed the faded scan lines so that it only covers half the wallpaper. (Its actually a transperent Radial Gradient with a scan line applied to it)

I've also got an Idea for the banner that should prove to be kewl, I'll keep that a secret till I finish the other stuff ;)

And yes Trismugistus, I was going for that old skool look.

"Don't think mixing the Manga Art and Art from the show is a good Idea, the styles are compleatly different.

and I'd drop the Cirlcle texture, its distracting and doesn't add to the wallpaper."

"Since V3 was released, I haven't gotten any notifications (But I know I've gotten several on my last Inuyasha wallpaper).

Are we still being notified of Comments/Favorites? At the moment, the only ways I can check is clicking the comments/favorites tab, which lists all of them that I've received, or checking the wallpapers themselves."

nice wp! love the scan (very sexy). it's not that the bg doesn't suit her, it's just that the bg needs more. maybe more of the dots. the text is alright, i feel it needs something but not sure what. the only thing i can think of is maybe place it higher, not so close to the bottom cuz there's alot of empty pink space on the left. otherwise, very nice :P

I have a few Valentines brushes, I'll try something when I get home."
