As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. Do have a look at this beautiful wallpaper!

Random Images

"I've noticed that since v4 came on line, while this is a kewl feature, the images that are displayed randomly aren't truely random. I've tested it in two sections (The My HiME and Yu-Gi-Oh wallpaper sections that I have multiable wallpapers in), and I refreshed the page several times.

The My HiME section showed mabey 6 of the wallpapers in the section then repeated those 6, and the Yu-gi-oh section doesn't even rotate.

Statisticly, One of my wallpapers should have came up atleast once.

Does this feature only show Popular wallpapers randomly?"

"If you're trying to get your vector over to Photoshop, in Illustrator, go File --> Export

Export it as a PSD or a Tiff (Both support Layers, Tiff is universal though), set the resolution to 300 dpi or higher, and save.

Then open it in photoshop, it should be way bigger then what you need, which is a good thing, just resize it down to wallpaper size."

"Its ok, the colors are crisp and clean, the edges are good, although I would spend more time making them smoother, but thats just me.

Good job."

"
It looks good... but one warning... the AP mods dont really like scans on stocks, no matter how good the wallpaper looks like. (I already had two of those wallpapers rejected) Maybe some filters to make it look a little more anime/manga style?

My last couple wallpapers used stock photos. it all depends on how they are used."

"I went for muted Sepia tones in this wallpaper, something that isn't done much anymore. The background image is a stock photo I found last year, and forgotten where I got it from. Its also the reason its 1280x960, and not 1600x1200 like most of my walls.

NEwho, Just wanted to run it past Submission Zero before I submit it to the gallery.

Haibane Renmei Wall

"Its a good wall, I like Grundge walls. Its got nice dark moody colors, but I would have made an effort to get her hair to match the rest of the image, its the only bright spot on the wallpaper thats distracting and looks out of place.

Nice job none the less."

"All I see is an image of rei that's not extracted with feathered edges overlayed on a tiled background. Only thing I see thats interesting to me is the font of the text.

Nice job on a first attempt. Keep practicing."

"To help with the gradients, just restart the background in a new file, and make sure you set the DPI to 300, that will help alot."

"Although the image is good, and is high quality, the default Stained glass filter sucks and shouldn't be used, try 3rd party one. I don't know of any, but I'm sure there's one out there that will do something like what you were trying to do."

"Extraction still needs work, here, because I'm a nice guy, and it is the Christmas season, here's my extracted file of the same scan, all extracted (Flawlessly I might add), and cleaned.

The file format is PNG, just open it up in photoshop and drag and drop onto your photoshop file

WWII Wallpaper

"
Huns and Pirates murdered, raped and pilaged; should we toss in a wallpaper of them here in the form of some girl all dolled up -- or even a picture of them alone, no one would care.

All true, but not to the extent of the Nazi's. They systematicly tracked down, captured, and murdered millions of Jews, Disabled persons (Mental and Physical), Blacks, Asians, Homosexuals, and anyone with these in their family lines, Basicly anyone who wasn't white, blond and blue eyed, in the most horrible ways possible (From fireing squads to Burning them alive)."

WWII Wallpaper

"Had the Character not been wearing an SS uniform (The SS were the caretakers of the Concentration camps, among other horrible things), the word Holocaust not rendered in a fancy text which to me, makes it Look pretty, which is not what one should associate with the darkest times of man kinds history, and the images which are on the film strip showed Allied soldiers during the major battles (there are only two that I actually like, The russians taking Berlin, and the D-Day landing, Some I would have liked to have seen would be The raising of the flag on Iwo Jima, or pictures of Easy Company preparing for battle, or the 101st Airborne parachuteing out of planes, or even images of people celebrating at the end of the war.), and the image of the Atom Bomb over Nakasaki not being used, which was a black eye for the Americans for world war 2 IMO, I wouldn't be quite as offended.

Taken compleatly out of context and looking at it just as a wallpaper, this is welll composed, the colors are complmentry, and the scan is of high quality. I like how you made the background match the color tones of the characters hair, helps with the overall theme of the wall. The filmstrip needs work though, the edges of the holes are faded, and should be crisp and sharp.

And on a side note, The family that served in the war were my Grandfathers. My mom's father was a US Navy pilot who was at Perl Harbour and served in the military after the war up until Veitnam, when he retired and later died. My fathers dad was a merchant Marine for the Canadain navy. His ship was sunk twice by german U-Boats, he survived the war, and He is currently living in Newfoundland.

My mom's step father (The man my grandmother married after the death of her husband), a Polish Jew, was sent (Smuggled is a better word) to New York in a Piano Crate shortly before Germany invaded Poland. His entire family were killed the Holocaust."
