After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

Few Flaws I've noticed
4 years 3 weeks ago
"You cant read can you, I said TWICE that I liked the place. I'll still continue too. I pointed out some problems that Not only I have found, but Alot of other people as well. (go to any other wallpaper community and ask their opinion on this place, and they'll tell you the same things that I have mentioned).
I have no problem with the paper fines, its a good idea, only how you fine them.
Whats the point of having a section devoted to Forum Problems and suggestions if you don't like them, and in fact, reject them should they arise?

Few Flaws I've noticed

"Ok, I've been a member here since June, and over all, I like the community. I get quality feedback on my wallpapers, and the scans here are excellent, but I do have a few beefs with some of the things that go on here. The sites Wallpaper policy, it goes against what an art community strives to be: A place for artists submit their work, receive feedback and better themselves. The whole Idea of fineing someone for submitting a wallpaper that didn't meet the standards of that particular moderator that day is wrong and dicourages "budding" artists into never trying again. I wouldn't have a problem with this if you actually got 100 papers for uploading the wallpaper, and if its turned down, those papers are then fined, as to not effect the paper balance that the user earned through doing other things (Like participating in the forums, commenting/favoriting wallpapers, and generallys being an active community member).
That policy leads to what I call "Elitism", which can be the downfall of an Art community unless the userbase has a good number of "Elite" as its membership (Like Animepaper does). By having the current policy, it allows for the really good artist to thrive and get all the glory, and the new and mid-leveled artists (Like myself) to struggle to get even the smallest ammount of attention, if at all. The community does not do enough to support the artists who are genuinely trying to better themselves. A wallpaper that for you would have taken you minutes to an hour to do and looks simple, might have taken that artist, who is new to the artform, hours and lots of trial and error. "Submission Zero" does not do enough to help those artists. The wallpapers (Which I have submitted elsewhere and gotten many quality comments) that I have submitted there got comments that were useless and unhelpful.
All I ask is review the sites wallpaper policy to be more forgiving to new artists, and think of other ways then "Submission Zero", which is unhelpful and useless in my opinion.
I like animepaper, but those are the reasons that keep me from really taking apart of this community."

To Get a mac or not to get a Mac; That is the Question
4 years 3 months ago
"wow. thanks for the advice, that was exactly the opinion I was looking for. On the other forums I posted this thread on, I was getting "Macs suck OMFG I'm a lamerz0r!1!1!" type opinions.
And I love the way Mac's look. I've used the Flyakite Mac Transformation software that makes your PC look like a mac (Basicly it adds all the eyecandy and the functionality of the Dock, but it doesn't work so well in a PC environment).
Thank you again."

To Get a mac or not to get a Mac; That is the Question

"I'm going to be doing graphic editing and class work. But mostly surfing the net and listening to music. I already use iTunes (Used to be a loyal Winamp user but I've fallen in love with iTunes) for my iPod shuffle
There are alot of games out for the mac, like UT 2004, The Sims 2, Sim City 4, almost any blizzard game.
I will always have a soft spot for PC's. I have alot of PC games that I love dearly (KotOR, KotOR 2, NFS Underground 1 and 2, and alot of Anime games ^__^;"

To Get a mac or not to get a Mac; That is the Question

"Since my computer died when I moved back with my parents, I've been without a decent computer for ages, and now my work has decided to start carry Apple products. The one that really cought my eye was their G4 iBook
14" Model
1.42GHz PowerPC G4
osX 10.4 Tiger
60GB ATA/100 4200 rpm HD
ATI Mobility Radeon 9550 with 32MB of dedicated DDR SDRAM
All for $1256 Canadian. And since I work for them, I can get it on a credit play and pay 56 dollars a month for 2 years, no interest (Just have to pay the taxes up front). This is a really sweet deal, and is well with in my price range.
Now, I can also get a really sweet PC rig for almost 500 dollars cheaper (3ghz AMD Athalon 64, 1gig ram, 80 gig drive, 256mb nVida graphics card), but I'm going to be starting College in the fall (Hopefully), and I may need Mobility, and the labtops (Windows Based) at my work suck royally.
I've used Windows since V3.11 was brand new, so you can guess that making this switch would be a big jump off the deep end (Although, using Non-Windows OS's is nothing new to me, my last computer was dual boot [Windows XP pro/SlackWare Linux V10])
What my point is, I want to ask those of you who have used PC's in the past, but have since switched to a Mac, what were the Pros/Cons, problems and so on you had when switching."

My World Three - Third Rendering

My World Two - Second Rendering

" My second attempt at 3-D scenery. This one took a whopping FIVE HOURS to render.
It was made in Terragen, a program that generates the landscapes based on Environmental variables that you put in. Depending on how much time you want to spend on the image, the more real it gets (From testing out different variables)
I'm opening this up to advanced critique.
Enjoy!

Username History...
4 years 4 months ago
"Well, aceman67 has been my username for over 10 years. I got it when Hotmail was first launched and was still good (Not the Ad invested crap hole it is now), and I guess it stuck. Never saw any reason to change it.I use the same username for everything, and since I've had the same username for so long, Google has archived a large ammount of websites that even mention my username.
I'm not kidding: Google search for aceman67"

My World - First Rendering

"This is my first attempt at rendering anything in 3-d. This was done in Terragen, and after spending three or four hours trying to get the settings right, I came up with this.Took 1 hour and 12 minutes to finish rendering.
Normally, I would host this on my own server, but lately, it won't let me upload to the site, and photobucket resizes images, so I guess I have to link to the copy I put up on devART

What Am I?
4 years 5 months ago
"I'm not an amature, and this wallpaper, while simple on the outside, is like an iceberg with 90% of the work under the surface. This wallpaper as been removed from the main gallery twice, and I was told to post it here, I dissagree with them strongly, but I won't argue with them. This wallpaper is supposed to show Rei pondering her existance (Hence the miasma swirling around her)
The "miasma" is acually the orginal scan of the character heavily filtered, textured, and using almost every layer blending option that Photoshop CS has to offer and is about 13-14 layers.
The scan of Rei also has some modification done to her as well, you have to look closely to see it, but I acually used a radial blur to make it look as if she was slowly being blown away, and I postioned the scan layer inbetween 2 of the top post layers to blend her in, and then ghosted her with the transparency options.
I've gotten nothing but good reviews on this wallpaper on the sites that I have posted it on, for example, on animeonline.net, This wallpaper is currently rated a 9.18/10 and has gotten the following comments:
"Excellentay! I love it, gives me some photoshop ideas myself. Great!!"
"A nice artistic style wall, well, not exactly a "wall", but i love that sensation and outlook, very cool, and nice extraction on the character, high quality image plus the bg and effect of your own, make this one splendid, good job"

I belive that this is a finished product.

"The following wallpaper I made back in Febuary, and it actually caught the attention of a Skinner on Deviantart, and it was then featured in a popular skin pack for the Black Box skinning program. ( http://www.deviantart.com/view/15048080/ )Heres the wallpaper: http://home.comcast.net/~pluggy/inmydreams.jpg (1600x1200)
I should really increase the size of this wallpaper and sell it as a print *shrugs*"
