As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. Do have a look at this beautiful wallpaper!

re-CGing a scan

"Thanks MuZ and ShiNN. that cleared things a bit. i actually have an anime screencap, would you recommend something specific for that?all in all repainting seems to be a lot more difficult and timeconsuming than illustrator vectoring..."

re-CGing a scan

"Ok, so basically i have quite grainy and pixelated image, it can be compared to the quality of the source of this Tama-Neko's wall. now i want to do quite the same what she did, but have a bit no idea how ;] what do i use for that? smudge tool? smooth tool? complete repainting? if someone could explain to me a non-vecotring re-CG and eventually point to some tutorials i'd be thankful."View

Stupid ? about regarding photoshop
3 years 5 months ago
"Choose from the top menu - image > mode and check which color mode is checked:grayscale - probably that's what you have, therefore you can apply only tones of grays, no matter what kind of colour you choose from the palette
indexed - gifs and 8bit png files have this - an attached palette of 256 colours or less, you can not apply any different colour then the indexed ones
rgb - 24bit palette, change to this and it will be 'normal'
cmyk - similiar to rgb, but different XD colour palette used mainly for printing
and remember kids -- nothing fixes itself. ;]"

Virus/Trojan/Etc victim?

"You remember sasser? now that was one mad bastard. i once was dumb enough to connect to the net to download XP updates _before_ i installed firewall and antivir. well, it took him like 30 second, and puff -- reboot. as far as i remember this was the only time i got a virus or any other unwanted crap. all other violations were caught either by firewall or antivir. i used norton IS, but now i'm trailing nod32 + kerio and i must say they are very good and whats important -- light in resources consumtion ;]"View

What alcochol you drink usualy ?

"no, drinking on christmas is a rather shameful custom, and moreover shameful if in Poland -- all in all despite everything we are a Catholic country, and i personally am against drinking during Christmas. but then again i am completly positive about drinkin till death on new years eve so.. this kind of tells ;p
btw, my fav drinks are those which dont go below 38%. and just recently i had a longer session with tequilla, straight non-mixed with salt and lemon and i must say -- man, it's even better than vodka. moreover, we did a 07 bottle for 2 ppl, and yeah, that kind of kicks [though not to death, still not enough i suppose. 1L would suit just fine]"

"Hmm, there's a colored scan of the cover with this pic in the scan section. anyway, you can go for b&w , but man you lack quality XD first of, this wind effect is a no-no. just forget it ;] moreover, i see text on her gun, you should fix that.all in all - i recommend going for smoothness, sharpness and simplicity, instead of any filters.."

html help? who knows
3 years 6 months ago
"Well, imagemaps are applied directly onto an image, as they are connected by a parameter within <img .. tag. if you put this image into the background you wont be able to use the imagemap on it -- you wont even be able to use <a href.. on it.here's a nice site explaining the imagemaps -- [and not only, w3schools cover a lot of stuff --- but not all though..] http://www.w3schools.com/html/tryit.asp?filename=tryhtml_areamap
using notepad may be ok, but you may want to take the measurments of the map figures using some gfx application like photoshop. then it's just typing in html."

Wallpaper Air Gear (Third try)

"The general concept is ok, but you lack quality. first of all, the extraction of the character - very jiggy, actually you should try and vector him. next, the background -- blurred pixels due to probable enlargment - you have to either apply some extensive grunge/brushwork [but i dont know about this stuff much..] or you could try and make an amazing vector out of it..."View
A big problem with PHOTOSHOP :(
3 years 6 months ago
"Look at the layers tool window, you probably have only one layer, moreover with a padlock. the simpliest thing to is to select all ctrl+a and the copy-paste. you should see a next layer to appear. just delete the background layer with the padlock, and there you go, you cutout to transparenct.[make sure your image mode is RGB or CMYK. greyscale or indexed color wont work. indexed color is with gifs and non-alpha-channel pngs, grayscale is.. rare ;p]"
