This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Rurouni Kenshin

"I have watched this anime from start to end 3 times so far since I got it a few years back and I just started to watch it agian last night. Though I know what is going to happen in the end I always forget about the little intricit moments that help to make this show so great. From the comedic moments to the intense lessons to be learned and dialouge this anime definitely has it all. I will never get tired of Kenshin and the gang and all the adventures they have (ahh hemmm...except for maybe the 3rd arc...I usually skip this. haha)."View

Is there a level after Bankai?
5 months 1 week ago
"Well if they keep the anime going there will of course be some new level for Ichigo and the others to release or else all the enemies would be pretty harmless wouldn;t you think. Her ein lies the problem with most if not all shonen anime...they must continue to get stronger and stronger beyond even the imagination of the viewer at the beginning of the show to the point all enemies in the past seem like a fly on the wall compared to what is achieved later on (which in my opinion is regretful). Honestly Naruto is a good example of an anime that paces the "leveling up" portion a bit better. Yes Naruto and the others are alot stronger now then they were in the beginning...but not by unimaginable amounts! Ichigo has surpassed event he highest ranked Captain level and continues to increase his power. It makes me think all the tension built up int he first two seasons around saving rukia and facing of against byakuya was for nothing. I mean if there were this many powerful benemies out there before Ichigo came along..how did the soul society and Death Gods survive? It seems noone can match there strenght except ichigo. Just somehting to think about. However, even after my rant there I must say that I enjoy Bleach very very much. It has a style and flare all its own that you don't see much int oday's or even the pasts anime much. "

What do you think Naruto can do to surpass Sasuke
5 months 2 weeks ago
"Naruto just needs to keep being himself and that shoul dbe enough. Sasuke is one of my favorite characters but really I mean c'mon naruto has the nine tails so if he just snaps or for instance "see's sakura get hurt" OMG!! whatch out because then you will see some power unleashed!"View
Rock Lee and Guy Sensei

"When the show first started out I thought Rock Lee was just an annoying incumberance placed upon the team and the show. Well I still don't put him among my top5 characters on the show but he definitely has his moments. I just recently finished the episode where Gaara is returned back to the sand village and at the end when Gai sensei is carrying Kakashi back to the Konoha (which in iteself is hilarious) the camera pans over to see Lee bent over and then he says "Neji.." as if to imply to have neji get onhis back so Rock can carry him......This was by far one of the funniest moments not only in the Naruto series for me but of all anime! it was so subtle yet so brilliant and the timing was perfect...not to mentionthe characters expressions. By far a favorite moment for me..at least involving rock lee."

How many episodes is perfect?
1 year 4 months ago
"Personally I like 26 and think that is about perfect. With 26 if the story is properly paced I don't think the anime series feels rushed unless of course the stroy is so deep and involved that it requires more episodes (ex. RK, Naruto, 12 Kingdoms, FMA). These stories all required that the viewer spend at least 10-15 eps. just tto get to know the charatcers, the world, and the setting before the real story could begin, so in this case it was well waranted that they went beyond 26 eps. and it still didn't feel to long. However, speaking of Naruto, of course the real problem was the lack of story due to the manga falling behind the anime, but they stretched they fillers way to long. BUT, now that it's back on track, the anime is shining with brilliance and enjoyment again even being 100+ GOOD episodes (cutting out the fillers)."

Which do you like, watching old classic or new anime?
1 year 4 months ago
"Well it depends...I will always love classic anime because that is what first got me into anime and what I grew up with. Also, I prefer the old art style of anime (hand drawn, ex. RK) to the new computer animation or combined styles of today. I think it just had alot more "rough" and "grungy" real-life detail to it, not to mention I gave alot more credit to the creators when they did it because of the work that was involved with it. now days it seems the animation has less detail, flatter textures, brighter and to few colors, and has almost merged closer to the amercian "cartoon" style of animation (bad).
that being said there are still plenty of new animes out and coming out that I enjoy and it is inevitable that we (everyone) will like new anime because as much as we like the old classics, "we've already seen them and know what will happen." Everyone wants a new story and that can only come from new anime. Though I do find that there are fewer and fewer anime among the many choices coming out that I like. It seems that the writing, story, and ideas have gone down as of late in the industry and there is a real lack of good quality anime (as opposed to say the 90's when almost every anime that came out was a "classic"). A few new anime's I do find great currentyl however are: Death Note, Bleach, Naruto 2 and Black Lagoon.

What do you think is most important in an anime?
1 year 4 months ago
"Well obviously story is a major component but if you look deeper it is really the characters that are the most important as they not only are the center of attention, but they are the drivers, protagonists, and "creators" of the story. The characters and all their different personalities is what really makes or breaks an anime in my opinion. If the characters don't have a strong will or goal, or if they don't have a purpose, then there is connection that can be gained between the viewer and them, and thus: lost enjoyment. Also, if I cannot stand, or if I don't like any of the characters I don't care how good the story/ plot is because I simply don't care how it ends for the characters. In the end I would say: Characters, though I do think a strong background/ story, animation (this is also key as some animes at first only draw my attention due to the great artwork/ animation), and great action are other components that help to make an anime more compelling for the viewer."

There are so many people out there in lovw with it that I thought for sure I would like it but I find it pretty basic...nothing special and really really long. The characters seem cliche and I just cannot stand the girl in this series always whinning about some stupid thing getting herself in trouble and making everyone elese save her."

"Initial D is an awesome series that never gets dull, never gets boring or repetitive, and is always entertaining. Its got alot of useful information in it as-well...alot of the details they talk about while driving can be applied in the real world. There's no crazy rocket cars or fantasy stuff jere...just the real deal and its very good. The sides stories apart from the races are almost as entertaining as the characters themselves are all interesting and very unique.
Great Series!"

Rurouni Kenshin (Samurai X)

"This anime indeed has everything a great anime should have and not only does it have everything but is has it all and does it all better then almost any other anime/OVA series. The animation though produced back in 1999 still shows its beauty today even in the face of all the high tech, computer generated/ amplified anime sereis out there. Facial expressions, body style, movement, action...everything is fluid and gorgeous to wacth in motion. The story is of the best of its kind. Not only is the premise of the story brilliant but the pacing and they way in which it is told is very well balanced and un-flawed in my opinion. Along with the story and what also adds to it greatness are the characters. The RK OVA has some of the best charaters full of emotion and feeling...and it shows!
Truely a masterpiece and a must see for anyone in my opinion who enjoys a great story...not just anime fans."

Great Teacher Onizuka
2 years 1 month ago
"From the start I wasn't quite sure what to expect from this anime. Not ever having watched a "comedy" themed anime before I was quite skeptical about how it would actually be pulled off. Don't get me wrong I love comedy but apart from the ocassional funny bits in various animes (Trigun, RK, etc.) I haven't ever watched an anime centered around comedy. However, all my fears were put to rest with the very first episode. The story (and all to follow) was cleverly conceived and very well paced. The animation style is a bit odd at times but works well in my opinion to accentuate facial features and display the humor element of each situation. This series made me laugh out loud countless times...something I didn't expect (I thought it would possibly be funny...but not laugh out loud funny).
For those who haven't seen this series I highly reccomend it if your looking for a great time and alot of entertainment. Onizuka, the lead, is one of the best and most interesting anime characters to date."

what do you think of cowboy bebop??

"It's brilliance is masked only by its greatness. LOLTruely this series is like no other. There is a story in my opinion contrary to the majority who review it. I think most people forget that they are bounty hunters and that they are supposed to be after a new "bounty" every episode...its there job! also the characters are all unique and some of the best in anime. The action is so suspenseful and exciting and the animation quality is top notch. Of course the music is some of the best veer in an anime series.
In conclusion...This anime has it all...and it ALL is great!!"

HOW MANY EPISODES DOES AN ANIME HAS TO HAVE?
2 years 1 month ago
"I'd have to say an anime for there to be enough time to develop the story and character sufficiently it needs at 24-26 episodes. Anything beyond say 50 is usually a stretch for me though Rurouni Kenshin pulle dit off quite nicely (though the 3rd arc kinda blows) and Bleach was a very exceptional anim eup until eps. 64 with no lag what-so-ever in its intensity and sheer greatness...though the filler arc has kinda ruined its momentum for me. Naruto of course is a great series that spans 150+ episodes ans while the fillers are getting old quick I think most can agree that the first 100 eps. give or take a few were very very well done."View

He takes a long time to come around to the "good" side even though overall he was always good he just had his reasons for acting the way he did...and his reasons in my opinion were justified though I do believe he took thema bit to far.Besides that he has to have ove of the coolest Bankai's ever and his shear ability dwarfs all other shinigamis by comparison. He also looks cool and has that laid back...I can kick you ass but not right now if I don't have to attitude that I love."

What do you think is the best Anime ever created?
2 years 1 month ago
"OK people...NGE is good but its not GREAT...and no way is it the best anime of all time! The story was different, deep, unique, and interesting yes but you can't tell me of all the anime that have come out since then that it still excels in each category. Of course you can't compare animation from an anime that old to current standards...but story, characters, etc... you must certainly can.A few I think easily dwarf NGE and are capable of being rated the greatest:
Rurouni Kenshin OVA
Full Metal Alchemist
Naruto (Before Fillers...fillers are the reason it is not labeled GREAT in my book anymore)
Last EXILE
BERSERK
Cowboy Bebop (Series & Movie)
Twelve Kingdoms
Gankutsuou

Any new good anime??
2 years 1 month ago
"In your Q you said "new" anime but then asked about Trigun which was way back in 1998...so based off of that I'm guessing your really more interested in just great anime series in general...here I will try to answer that for you as-well as some of the Q's I've read that you posted:Trigun - Great action anime that incorporates comedy like no other. This series can switch from Vash (the lead) being a complete goof too an unbelievably smart and admirable character. The series starts off quite light-hearted and gets pretty deep/ dark towards the end. It's an older naime so the animation show's it but it is still one of the greatest of its genre.
Gundam SEED - Is probably the best of the gundams I have seen as far as story goes so far (with close and maybe possible exception of Gundam Z). There is alot of criticism about this anime because it is basically a chopped up and pasted together version of about 4-5 different Gundam Series. it takes all the best parts of each and mashes them together to get SEED...which in my opinion doesn't matter at all as long as what you end up with is an interesting and good series...which it definitely is. The animation is the Best of any Gundam series (SEED Destiny is pretty much the same rating) and it has its fair share of great action scenes...what would gundam be without action of course.
Gankutsuou - Is an awesome series that re-tells (changes a bit) the story of The Count of Monte Cristo (one of my favorite novels ever). Though I wasn't to fond of the idea of them taking a different angle with the story at first I gradually came around to it and in the end almost preferred it this way from an anime perspective. The animation is like no other as I'm sure you've heard from others. The static patterns over colorfully drawn BG's, Characters, etc... is truely unique and a sight to be hold. Though it does turn some viewers away because it is so different I got used to it and started to really acknowledge its beauty after baout episode 3-4. This series doesn't have a whole lot of action (most of it is towards the end of the series) but the story is good enough to keep you wanting more and more out of each episode. With Mystery, revenge, deception, love and more going on all at once you will not be bored for a minute.
Here's my list of other anime's that I highly recommend with a brief reason why:
- BERSERK: Realistic Fantasy is the best way to describe this anime. The story is one of the greatest of all the series I have watched to date (and thats alot). The characters are among the best in all of anime and you will love their interactions with each other thoughout the series. Great action that never treads to much on the unbelievable side(untilt he end of course).
- Cowboy Bebop: Truely a masterpiece in design. Futuristic but designed in a fashion as it truly could end up being like in the years to come. Great animation and action sequences. Loveable characters and always an interesting story (especially the main story).
- BECK: Story about a band trying to make it big and the lives of each of the members as the change thoughout the process. If you like music or just great real life stories...this is it!
- Rurouni Kenshin OVA: Rated on almost any anime site as one of if not the best anime ever made this tells the beginning story of Kenshin Himura from the RK Series. Not to be missed by any anime fan!
- Vision of Escaflowne: Truely one of the best Fantasy animes ever released. ALso contains a bit of pretty much every other genre of anime out there but still some how managaes to make it work. Great action, Great story, Great Characters.
- Full Metal Alchemist: Very unique story. Very Deep Story. Very Dark Story. VERY VERY GOOD STORY!...and it also has great action and a good dose of comedy...not to be missed.
- Basilisk: if you like Naruto or just ninjas in general this is a more serious tale of a clan of ninjas and the war between two clans. It has a good story, alot of action, some love/ romance, and some very interesting characters.
- Initial D: A anime series about Street Racing. This series is very good for something you would assume to get old after one or two races...but somehow they keep it always refreshing, new, and intense.
- Gungrave: Referred to as the Mafia style anime of BERSERK. it has a great mafia stroy and very interesting characters. The stroy takes kind of a twist in the middle as the switch gears a bit and add a supernatural element...oddly it didn't bother me that much and actually added a bit of excitement to the series that wasn't already present. One of the best endings in all of anime that's for sure (for one because it actually has an END)
- Ghost in The Shell SAC: Great animation and action scenes. Stand alone stories that every so often tie into a greater story. Always entertaining and a very intriguing/ informative anime.
- Samurai Champloo: Some of the best action scenes of any anime to date. A very fun anime to watch but nothing to special in the story department. Each episode is sort of stand alone until you get towards the end. This however doesn't take away from it being a very entertaining watch.
- Just Started Eureka 7 , Blood +, and Ergo Proxy and from what I've seen so far they appear to be shaping up to be pretty good anime series. if your looking for newly released anime I might give these a try.
Well That's all I have for now...Hope that helps :)"

"Love this anime! From a first impression unless you are into music this anime might not seem like it could be any good or appeal to a general audience but...you would be wrong. This is a great series with a great story and even better characters. I love how at the beginning the characters don't know each other and as each individual develops...so does the group and it makes for an even greater connection. The ENGRISH in the series is the only major complaint but it is easily over looked. I loved almost all the songs and the animation was top notch. It wasn't anything flashy as this isn't an action anime...it was realistic but stylish at the same time while not resorting to distorted facial features or tear drops or anything of that sort.
If your in the mood for a great story that really grabs you and just plain ROCKS!...this series is great."
