"I think FF7 is the most Popular (not saying the best) FF ever because of how it was recieved in the gaming world.
Not only was it revolutionary for its time, it even had its own commercial. That like boosted its ratings and selling x10. Thus everyone saw it, and wanted to play it. Not to mention is was one of the few games out for the PSX at the time. So your choice of games was limited and it WAS the best out of all those.

Personally I like some of the other FF stories better.
and not to discredit Cloud and Sephiroth (i like those guys too.)
but many of the other FF's had a bit better character/story developments going on.

I think fans fond over this game too much because it was their first FF they ever played, and it seems its true what they say, you never forget your first... :P

I don't mind the average person who loves FF7. Thats fine, 7 is a good one.
Its these noobs who go crzy over it, idolizing it, saying its the best RPG story ever!.
Yea... its not, get over it, and stop demanding they keep making more of it.
Get some damn closure for f'n*** sake you fanatics.

"I too wish for more heroines. Shame Terra (/Tina :P) is the only one, and a stright up magic fighter only user from what is seems too. (So lame, since i liked to use her as a duel sword fighter and magic user when I played FF6.)
Shantotto bearly even counts since you have to like flip up that skirt to even tell with that loli it seems :P

If there was an choice of Secondary chars that should be in here...
(Focusing on female chars of course) I have to call out the following for balance:
TIFA & RINOA (<-Anyone who has watched "Dead Fantasy" would agree!)
and FARIS ( a bit manly, but at least she is not a magic only girl fighter...)

and hell since were dreaming...
LIGHTNING (despite not having had her time to shine yet) - Now she would have made a perfect addition to the team while boosing the guy-girl ratio! Sadly she wasn't in time."

"I don't believe Sony loseing the sole rights was so bad actually...
While I too was shocked by the diversing of FF to multiple platforms, I have to applaude their desire to spread the FF love to others who like one console over the other. Plus it keeps "us" (those who have to carefully watch how much we earn and spend, esspecially these days) from having to dish out the dough on a console to play a series we all know and love.

Personally I think the 6 disk+ set that the X-box version will probably have is quite the turnoff. However, honestly I am focused more on the Versus game. Especially after watching that most recent trailer. Noctis(think that was his name) makes Cloud look like a noob at fighting. LOL...

And SPUDSY, try to calm down on the hate-ing. I can see your a lover of the old old skool style of games and play. I feel ya, i do. However you dissed on all the Final fantasy series games, and then some; except on like 3 that actually had a different/mixed teams of creators behind it. (Its funny too that you liked KH1 which had many of the main chars for the FF series you consider "waste" and NONE from 9 that you love...) Are you just really picky about the story or something specific?

Granted some were bad, but not as many as you emphasize. Cause if that were the case, Final Fantasy would not be the series that has become the prime example in most discussions that revolve around the genre "RPG" "

"They should just make a version with Jap voices and the english sublitles. For us hardcore anime fans... of course SquareEnix does a good job fitting voices to characters pretty well (in any language) so I prob will go English. [although I did perfer the jap voices in Crisis Core a lot more.]


When I get it though... I think I will try being a Terra-user (or Tina from what it looks like at the website?). Since FF6 was my fav of the series, and I have to help represent the girl-hero in the game. Still I want to believe that there may be some girl unlockables chars in this game due to the unbalance. Maybe even FF13 "Lightining" preview ^_^ *gets happy just imagining it.*

"Spoiler alert for non-manga readers!!

It's MAY be possible for Naruto to control the Kubi at one point in time...
But it doesn't seem like it as of right now. for now he still seems too young to control it. Remember garra couldn't even control the full pwr of a ONE tailed!. He had to be possesed by it too. (Mind you he was young as well)

On another note. He may be able to master all nine tails, but if he does, he is still only mastering Half of the kubi's true pwr. All he has sealed in him is the YANG-half of the Kubi. The YIN-half is still sealed up and possible not avalible to him.

It was not possible to seal The Full Kubi power inside a human being.
The kubi was that strong.

So It will be interesting to see what happens.
Personally I want to know what Pwr Itachi left in Naruto??
And how/if that is going to effect his Kubi/Sage pwrs in the future.
Or if its only a defense mechanism.?.?."

"I personally have 2 viewpoints on this:

1) Love the idea of this instant subbing idea. Great, I'm all for it since we will finally have like a universal pro subber company that translates directly from the show. NO more translations with a certain accent' or 5th grade vocab in the dialogue which changes the way the sentence comes off read. Also, we will have accurate translations for the ninja techniques said.
So I am hoping the translations will be the most accurate now since they DON'T have to have the eng translated words match the mouth movements of the charactors. (This was a unique requirement in DVD's Eng translations by the companies which always used Eng dub dialogue as their subtitles because the words/lip syncing movements needed to match. Thus some jap dialouge was lost in translations in certain anime episodes.)

2) Archive purposes... No point in hiding the numerous people who love to DL their episodes and store them to be watched at a later time, watch them on thier PSP and whatever. If this goes forward and becomes standard. Will we be able to DL those stream/subbed episodes to watch on the go?
My gut says no... which ultimately could lead to a monopoly of this type of format for doing anime... which could then lead to full time subscriptions needed for watching any anime in the future... And that scares me. Not for the money issue... but the freedom to watch, or waiting half a year+ for it to make it to the states. Or even longer for other people.

So that's what this whole step brings to my mind.

"I love Air gear. Just slightly more then My Tenjo Tenge now cause they are easier to find and read right now.
But man both are the best ever. Even better, is that they are directed to a mroe mature audience (which is what I happen to be :P )

Onigiri, I don't think will become a king.
Something might happen to him, on a note that will slowly fade him out of the story maybe? (his charactor development seems to lead that way i think)
The rumble king seems to be written out for bucca, everyone is coming to that conclusion (more so after the recent chapter)
Emily, I say is still a toss up for me, since there seem to be more kings then the 8 true realga out there (they are just scattered everywhere.) So she might create her own like the new storm king? Honestly, I was expecting her as Kazu's tuner at one point. Now I don't know.. Maybe she still can be? or perhaps kazu will get a kururu tuner of his own. (Looking forward to that lovers quarrel if so ^_^)

Honestly I am excited where this is going. I just wish the chapters came out faster.

Oh and i think Onigiri might be the panther, just to give him some purpose to the fight?? Since the fade out seems to be happening faster then you think...

The feeling after the ending of Season 2

"Its been mentioned but I will state it too since I feel the same.

The ending episodes for season 2 failed...
they finally got to showing Silver and they ran out of time it felt...
I mean they tried to start something new in a time frame they knew they couldn't do it in. They should have saved that silver stuff for the season 3 and ended it by either of the 2 methods:
1- Ended it right after the Sabrac battle. That just had the finisher feeling to it and everything. The music, the climax, the resolution. It was all there.
or
2 - Made one more episode after that battle, the OVA special episode like in season 1, in which you have the whole love letter thing in which they could leave it as a cliffhanger end with Yuji standing at the North/South sign deciding which way to go.

Then Season 3 could start with the whole interruption as he is about to choose who to go to; Leaving plenty of episodes to do whatever with the whole Silver thing, instead of him seeming lame like he was in the final episode moments... blah, one-hit... done.

So yea season 2 end was disappointing. Lets hope season 3 has a better come around."

final fantasy 13 for xbox360 how many discs?

"ITs already been confirmed that there will multiple disks.
This is due to the extreme amounts of voice compression combined with top notch visuals. Honestly, I see no big deal about having multiple disks anyways.

Also the PS3 version will be made before the X-box version.
Even though they will be released at practically the same time.
So whatever the #of disks they get the PS3 verion down to, you will prob. have to double or triple that for the 360."

"I agree with the statements above. It has a lot to do with that stereotype stuff.
Also, it probably has a lot to do with the age old fantasy tale: Defenseless princess waiting for that heroic knight on a white steed.

Face it, despite how overplayed that philosophy is, No one ever gets tired of it, cause secretly, we all still dream of being in that scenario some day. The others like Tifa/Quistis/ect... are there for those who dream of the reverse roles.
Princess being strong enough to come to the guys aid instead. (thus making the guy swoon instead. )

Honestly, very few want to see a MALE white mage healing another guy. *shutters at the mere thought of it.* and that's prob the reason why that scenario isn't played out too much. but who knows... you may get your wish for a change with FF13.
Not since FF6 have you gotten a strong female hero as the main. Perhaps your guy magic user (representing the princess/prince) is right around the corner this time?"

Dying arcades

"I blame it on the inflation and lack of profit.
Since todays prices on rent and electricity and other junk is so high. Quarter arcades really can't rake in the money. Granted you could raise the price on the machines, but no one really wants to $1.00 to play one turn on a machine.
It trully is sad to see this, and so they will all become extinct since, like you said, High-def games and stuff are too expinsive to build and place in public (for peeps to steal).

Honestly, Disney Quest/Sega Quest is about the only real arcade atmosphere place left. Floors upon floors of VR and arcade machines. Its a little kid games Shangrala.
Wish they wern't on the verge of death. But sadly, young kids these days would rather go download music/games and text all day long instead.
So its the sign of the times and a farewell to a way of growing up.
So long arcades, I knew thee well....

"Keeping to the 2 to each series rule.
(Which they arn't really) according to the list out so far.
There are some series that are missing heros.

Now many FF fans know that FF6 & FF7 have some of the best bad guys.
one you love to hate almost. However they currently lack hero counterparts.
Hopefully this will change.
But keeping to who the hero's should be...

Peeps want Cloud, yet I say it should be Zack... (Zack should get some payback on Sephi for the whole Nebilheim reactor incident, ya know)

AS for FF6 - I think everyone would be happy with the Rogue ninja Shadow stepping in to mess with Kefka's plans. (Just like on the floating continent.)
And of course, he needs his 4-legged buddy Intercepter too. ^_^

Rukia or Orihime

"I have to go with Orihime all the way, so cute and lovable and kind.
A girl worthy of serious orange-haired knight to protect her from meanies...
They do a perfect job of balancing each others personalities.
Rukia is good too, but just seems a bit to dedicated to the cause.
Shes like those types that, when the death god gear comes off, she is quite lovable and girly. However, when shes in her work clothes, its moslty about the job.

But that has its charm too. The point is I guess that, Rukia can take care of herself, while Orihime needs a knight. Yea that may seem sexist in retrospect. But I am not really into the whole manly girl thing. Call me a traditionalist.


As for siding with who is stronger... Yea Rukia is more the powerhouse. Yet, she has been training/practicing for fights for a lot longer. consider her age (soul society years). However, I believe the POTENTIAL of Orihimes power can beat Rukia's. If you have the ability to reject events/actions/say even existance, and you mastered that ability. You could probably pwn opponents before they say WTF?


In any case, Orihime is the girl I would pick.
And quite frankly, I can't complain about the eye candy service she brings with her.

That was just waaaaay too anti-climatic.
Hawk was getting pwn'ed and one Sun God attack lets them win. So lame...
If it was that easy to take down a tailed-beast. Akatsuki could have just sent Itachi to deal with all 9 beast captures, seriously.

I think there was some serious slacking done in the thought process of that fight.
The outcome took a turn just way to fast. the only thing I can think of that would make the most sense for KillerBee going down instantly like that, is if Fire was his or the 8-tails major weakness. (Which seems doubtfull)

Oh well, guess it is what it is. Lets move on... to hopefully a better thought out fight on the next one.

*seriously... even summoning like a HUGE giant snake and having it bite the beasts head and then explode when attached to the 8-tails would have been a bit more creative (although very strange indeed :P )...*

"I am actually enjoying the line up I am seeing thus far. (which seems to be final?)
They seemed to have gathered a crew on both sides, picked evenly throughout the series without HAVING to pick only the Most favorite.
Nobody needs all the favorites from all the series, and its nice to focus on the lesser favorite heros for a change, cause lets face it
There are just too many heros in FF series for them all to be in there!
Typically you get a trove of heros to take down ONE omni-boss at the end.
Too much hero-fan survice can hurt the story, or make it too one sided... Plus some of the FF series didn't really have a focused MAIN hero so much as a hero team.

However, if, after you beat the game, you were able to unlock a bunch of other hero's from the FF series to replay the game with or just to have to fight with, then that would be pretty cool...

My Recommendations would be:
Auron / Shadow / Rydia (chocobo summons ^_^) / Zack / Faris / Rinoa (angel form)
{and on the longest shot EVER of an appearence... Kaze from the anime :P }

Also I think they should get some female hero's in the hero line up as well...
or at least as unlockables... Tifa would kick ass, and everyone would be happy with that hot fireball being in there. ^_^
(If not Tifa then Terra with her esper transformation and multi-class badass-ness)"

Girls Playing video games

"I tend to stick to the console-type games. But I too feel bad about the amount of pick-up-line crap. That occurs out there. Seriously, the girls are here to play the game,not get hit on. That's what mySpace and FaceBook are for.
I feel sorry for any girl that gets mixed up with those guys.

I tend to stay away from all that online stuff. There just seems to be too much connection hassle, dependability on others for game play, and the usual bulls*** that everyone has basically already mentioned in previous posts.

But man oh man do i know how skillful some of these girls can be. I love to watch girls just own up on complete pro's, and listen to the pro's cry. They tend to take it so bad too BECAUSE they think men should be better then girls at video games, and so they have no one to blame but themselves.
If ya just accept the whole "girls can rock, boys may not" philosophy when playing games, you will probably have twice as much fun and enjoyment playing with them then imagining if the girl is hot or not, and will send you their picture.

All those guys who scare girls away from gaming with stupid remarks and hit-on lines, should go die an AI/NPC death and leave us true gamers alone.

I am rather excited about what this game it about. SO much so that its making me want to go out and buy a PSP.?.?.

The ? you have listed will most likely be replaced by the main heros of each looking at the trend. But we need some of the others too. both good and bad.

Sabin from 6
Seifer from 8
Kain, Black mage, Auron, Kugan.... the list could go on and on...

It will be interesting to see who they put in. It will no doubt be my favorite fighting game in that respect if they get a great lineup.
I am just a bit sad that it won't be for a console that allows you to utilize BIG widescreen tvs or 1080p type stuff... Guess i will have to wait for the hacks then.

"If you ever hear a person use this word, they most likly are into, or obsessed with PC games. I agree with Neko above, that this term has lost all of its original meaning and has become nothing more then a sarcastic remark that can be ignored where and whenever needed.
It is funny to watch the occasional person flip out and take this word seriously. Esspecially when the reciever of the term is hardcore at the game.
Yet at the same time its sad cause you know they just turn right around and say it to someone else all the time.

Anyone who has had this word said to them, has eventually said it to someone else to see what it feels like, or to be the one to actually say it instead.
Yes just about 99.9% of anyone who has heard the this word knows this to be true, no matter how much you may want to deny it.

I personally will only use the term these days to confirm if someone is new or at that beginner lvl for a game. Other then that, I don't use it anymore; but then again I was never to into the PC games..."

Final Fantasy XIII Multiplatformed

"I honestly am not that angry (anymore). Hearing that it was going to become multiplatform soothed my would be rage greatly. If it was going to be an X-box only game, you know Square would have basically been screwing themselves over.
PLUS This would have proven that Microsoft truly are bastards trying to gain solo rights on all the best stuff so you have to buy from them. Just like everything else they get involved with. Honestly, their money is what keeps them in the gaming market. They have bought their way out of gaming bankruptcy (at least twice) since they entered this industry.

In any case, I heard that the PS3 version will be on one Blu-ray disc, maybe two due to the high compression stuff they are doing with the audio bytes for the game.
Not sure how many disks will be for the 360, only there is word that a split team at Square is working on that and MAYBE dumbing it down a bit due to the DVD disc's the 360 uses.
Only time will tell on that one.

Well, regardless of what square did to spread the FF love to more peeps. Square needs to do some something or Microsoft will just keep jump'n on their mistakes.

Yep its going to be like it was back in the MM2 days... right down to the goofy names, and the disappearing blocks you have to time your jumps to or fall to your doom. Lots of the favorite elements from all the older ones are going to be brought back for this one.

Honestly I would have liked to have the good 'ol charged M.Buster at hand for this.
but if they keep true to the retro-ness like they say. most of the baddies will die in close to one hit anyway... so I guess charged shots would only really help for the big baddies and bosses.

extra thought:
Wonder if they are going to have a password save system like the old? seems pointless now, but.... who knows??"

"It seems my comment is being misunderstood.
I am not saying that the CC game or the way it was played was bad.
Only that it was a bad sequal, and that is shames the name Chrono that was placed in the title; because it was for all intent and purposes, ment to be a sequal-type game.

I have no problem with the game itself or the way it was played. Only the reasoning that it was ment as a sequal.

Give it a different title and exchange some of the CT references with something else, and this would be a great stand-on-its-own type game. The sequal essence that was incorperated in the game is what hurts it the most.

It was like with that old Final fantasy Spirits movie. Many people hate it cause it bears the final fantasy name and had little real relevence to Final fantasy themes found in the series. The movie still was ok. not the best, but ok.

So yea I will retract my statement now about how you should not play CC ever.
Go ahead and play it. Just don't play it expecting to play off the original CT story.

MEGA MAN 9

"The Blue Bomber is back for another round of bot bashing.
and this time he is doing it old school style!

As many know by now this game is being debuted as a virtual console game for the Wii.
However, it is not bound to just the Wii anymore. It will playable on all the consoles allowing PS and X-box owners to play the game as well. A dream come true for any Mega Man fan out there!

An official trailer is out now as well as a short story synopsis about whats going.
and from the looks of it, Everything (stages, enimies, movements, etc...) gives the appearence and feel of the Mega man from back in the NES days, despite the story taking place after the events of Mega man 8.

However this is an unusual step back in time considering the CG dominante age we are in now. Old skool gamers may rejoice, but what about you newer, younger gamers. Would this game be too Retro?, too 8-bit for you to waste your time on with other more enhanced CG games out there to play?

Personally I have yet to download any wii-ware type games and return to my old school roots, but this one may be the first. Must say I am looking forward to shooting those white pellets at bad guys again. DR. WILY, you are going Down... Again!"

The 3 new kingdom hearts games

"OK, so KH3 = TBA
that's to be expected since Squaresoft is juggling other projects right now.
FF13 and these 3 babies for example.

Its to be expected that there is little knowledge on what going on.
But rest assured it will come eventually.
The special ending after II and the 3 apprenticies hint in that handhold game,
prove visually and storywise that its in the works.

Granted, I too am annoyed at the wide range of hardware needed to understand all these mini stories; but honestly, you know those stories will be on the internet to view/read at one point so don't fret. (already know my source of where I will get the footage. Actually sat and watched/read the Chains story to know what was going on for II)

What I am more curious about is how are they going to make those disney worlds still seem interesting to play through. they have already milked the stories for all they are worth. what esle is there? Yet in the back of my mind. I so want to see what hero Hades recuits this time?
Cloud was like "sorry hades...I quit...someone else is on my mind..."
Auron was like "..piss off hades...this is my story...."
next is maybe...... ZACKS!? oh I hope so. ^_^
