This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Are you ready for BD Rom replacing DVD Rom

i am definitely looking forward to this "new technology" because of my current need for storage space. i also like shounen-yuki explanation for this.

for now, it's not yet the time to get one. i mean be reasonable. it's too expensive. but yes, it's worth it... for now. i also like ElectroPoint's remark for waiting until it becomes popular... more of "industry standardization" (how i love that word - sarcasm). unless they are openly sold to the market at cheaper prices, then that's a good time to buy. BD burners and BD media are not yet sold here in the philippines so it might take a few months more... most likely by february or april.

Personally for back-ups I feel you might as well plump the way of the external hard drive what with them becoming much cheaper lately and it'd be much cheaper then investing in the new technology at the current prices. Plus then your future proofed as I doubt hard drives are going to go out of fashion any time soon. When the prices come down to a reasonable price though it'll probably end up like DVD's and be the cheapest way to backup alot of data :D"

"No point rushing into the upgrade what with one of them bound to be killed off and then you'll have wasted alot of money if you happen to be on the losing side ^^"

Internet Explorer 7

"Most people are going to be forced to upgrade to IE7 in the next slew of security updates Microsoft are due to release as they've marked it as a 'critical' update. Just remember if you build webpages you'll need to fix them up to work in IE7 if you use any flashy code ^_^"

"Little point in downloading the release candidate as Windows Update will do it by default in the near future anyways."

Yahoo tries to abolish mp3 piracy rules

1 year 10 months ago

"

If David Goldberg, general manager of online music sales of Yahoo!, will succeed with his project of selling McCartney's "Right Where You Want Me" without restrictive antipiracy software, it will eventually abolished the anti-piracy law.

Yahoo will sell the album in mp3 format, and won't prevent the buyer from sharing
the album with friends or share to the rest of the world.

Because Goldberg believe that digital rights management (DRM) is only a waste
of time and only discourage consumer to buy music online while doesn't prevent the music to be copied.

If Goldberg idea will succeed, it will make a big change in the music market. No more piracy because no more law will govern on piracy.

Source

What are your opinions? IMO it's a clever idea but I don't know whether the project will succeed or not..

Personally I doubt that's his real reasoning behind it as people who buy music legally are unlikely to just share it just because it doesn't have DRM on. It's probably just because having a lack of DRM and restrictions on how you can use music you own would and is a major selling point and could quite possibly increase the amount of sales and give Yahoo a chance to claw a market share from iTunes."

window vista or Xp

In my opinion, Vista is too resource hogging to be an OS. I don't see any Vista features that I'd use. There're just eye candies that it makes Vista appealing.

I agree with this, whats the point of having to have all the latest equipment and rediculous amounts of system resources avalible just to run the OS, I could just upgrade, keep XP and use the extra resources to facilitate what I'm actually doing."

"The more recent versions of Nero have a built in program for this called Nero Vision Express so if you already have Nero that's probably the easiest route to go."

A good news for IE7

IE is famous for security holes, so I pretty much never use it. I'm not sure whether MS filled these gaps or not in 7. I'm immensely glad that it features tabs though, because it's such a pain to have to open a new window.

I think they've filled most of them and opened new ones, I have been able to check the latest beta as the anti-phishing thing stalls it on load but Beta 2 was quite nice."

"Have you tried using google to search for a codec that supports *.spr extension movie files?

Edit: Usually if you have the codec for a particular file type most programs will let you decode them and recode them in a new format ^^"
