After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

"Thanks for the input, everyone. ^_^Erm, yes. The images uploaded were supposed to be JPEG, but I guess that's what I get for having too many files on my hard drive. I must have pulled them from the wrong folder. I did want Anemone to have a softer appearance, but I went ahead and tried to unblurrify her.
The left side of the wallpaper does concern me a bit and if I had thought more about the finished wallpaper, I would have used a different scan. If I hadn't already spent so much time working on this project, I would consider adding another character, but it makes my brain spin thinking about the additional work necessary to pull that off.
So instead, I used some butterfly brushes to add a little more interest to the empty section. However, I really dislike resorting to brushes just to fill up space and they look blurry. :( Here's the butterfly one:
At one point, I also tried adding some vector swirls, but I didn't think it worked too well with the scan and texture (not to mention that I don't have that sort of experience). When I was messing around, I experimented with adding some random boxes and thought they had an interesting effect:
So, are either of these two better alternatives than the original? Or are the new versions worse? :D I'm really at a loss here with this empty section. The horizontal line in the middle seems to be causing me grief since it interferes with additional elements. Unfortunately, backgrounds have never been my strong area, which is why I am so worried (and frustrated).

"After going back and forth, I finally decided to sit down and create a wallpaper for AP. I usually design original wallpapers, so working with a scan was a very different experience for me (not to mention the cleanup involved >_< ).Anyway, here's wallpaper:

I actually do like the finished wallpaper. However, I know that my minimalist style isn't always liked by others and may be considered too plain for the site. "I just discovered Anime Paper and I admit that I feel a little left out. I love anime, but most of my work has revolved around fanfiction, fanart and avatars. However, I do create wallpapers, albeit in a completely different genre: fractals. Below are a few of my favourite wallpapers. All were rendered with Apophysis.Hopefully, this works. I'm used to XHTML, not BBcode...

"Yes. You are doing pretty well if these are basically your first real attempts at drawing. If you are seriously considering drawing and want critique, try deviantART. I pretty much live there and can attest that it can be a helpful place (most of the time). At the very least, I would encourage you to keep drawing.
