This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Do your parents read manga?

"My father doesn't read much and my mother, when she gets time, usually reads bestseller list stuff...so no.

However, to her credit, my mother does listen to me retell parts of stories that I liked. ;)"

about mangas

"It depends on the story and how it was adapted over to either medium. Generally I find things I like in both...but the usual tends to apply that books can give more detail and background on characters. :)"

Why do like Anime?

1 year 7 months ago

"I've always liked animation in general. I initially saw anime through my brother, but all he watched for a while was DBZ, which I didn't like. I eventually started catching better anime on [adult swim], also via my brother...when I realized how good some of the series could be it was pretty much assured I'd start looking for more. :)"

What Do You Realy Think About Death Note

1 year 7 months ago

"I haven't really seen the movie yet, but I love the anime! Actually, the last episode (16: Decision) has me very curious as to what'll happen next...that's part of what I like (and why I've not read the manga yet), I don't always know the next move and they can catch me off guard sometimes. :)"

FMA, Naruto Or InuYasha?

1 year 7 months ago

"
-sabishii0tenshi-
...I'd have to say Naruto. I've seen the first couple episodes of FMA, and from the very beginning it seemed to try to sell itself off to viewers by trashing religion; since most people these days dislike that kind of things, it'd seem like the kind of thing that would make instantly relatable, but for me, although I'm no longer a Christian, it just seems cheap. Aside from that, the art seemed quite average and the villains your typical two-dimensional monster of the week. The characters were amusing, but it just didn't live up to the hype.

I would hardly say it sells itself by trashing religion, some of the characters are very religious, some aren't, and some don't seem to be sure of what they believe...that actually seemed quite realistic to me...though Ed is cynical toward Rose in the beginning about her faith, he also later questions why God has shunned him. Also, religion is something that comes up in every episode, I suppose you could analyze the Ishbal War as science vs. religion, there's more behind it in the end.

Also, most of the villains last throughout the series. One thing I liked about FMA was how most characters played a part later. Even what happens with the bad guy of the first two episodes becomes very important as the series progresses.

I understand where you're coming from, but if those are your reasons for disliking FMA after the first 2 eps, you might consider giving it another chance. :)"

How do you carry yourself as an anime fan?

1 year 7 months ago

"I have some anime stuff...but if you just walk past me generally on the street you probably won't know I'm wearing an anime shirt or whatever unless you've also watched the show because it's mostly just symbols.

I only really talk much about it with friends who like anime or people I think would enjoy it if it comes up.

If you looked around my room you'd know, but I also have a ton of regular movie and music paraphenalia. Same with my music playlist, there's anime soundtracks, but also many movie soundtracks and regular bands and I can think of at least five languages you might hear.

My screensaver's probably the most anime biased thing, but that's partially because I lost all my movie pictures when my hard drive crashed a while back. :(

FMA, Naruto Or InuYasha?

"Fullmetal Alchemist, hands down, for me. It has great characters and good plot progression and pacing, nearly every episode has purpose within the greater picture, a good mix of seriousness and comedy.

I've watched and enjoyed the other two as well though.

Inuyasha would be better if they condensed it down instead of constant flashbacks and other unneeded stuff. I've heard it's ending doesn't really conclude anything as well :(

I haven't made it yet to Naruto's mass filler section, but what I have seen has been entertaining. :)"

Do your friends like anime?

"A bunch of my friends like anime. We usually just get together to watch new episodes of Bleach or Death Note or new series together. Although I am now on my fourth person to come see me regularly just to watch Fullmetal Alchemist or Samurai Champloo! :)"

How do you find the new anime?

1 year 7 months ago

"Generally, I get recommendations from friends...I think some of them get it from net searches and some get it from Japanese friends, not sure really.

Some I just see a picture or wallpaper somewhere that catches my eye or see pictures from it frequently online and become curious about it."
