"Ow. I personally am not digging the shade of red you chose, and to use it for the entire background too. It either takes away the viewer's attention from the the character (which is what you want viewers to pay attention to), and the colour's just too hard on the eyes. (Remember, these are wallpapers and your goal is to have people download them and use them as their desktops which they see everytime they turn on the monitor... So choices on colours are important. :O) So yup, might wanna add some more softer shades (and not only red) to be more pleasant to the eyes. Also, maybe the main character can be bigger?

Oh, and I think your wall can do without the sharp overlayed border. Why? 'Cause really, if you have the task bar either at the bottom (usually), top, right, left, it'll look awkward either way to have one edge of the border cut off and, I'm sure it'll look nice without the border anyhows. :)

To be honest, the background just looks like a whole bunch of brushes smeared around the wall and a scan placed on top. Maybe you can rearrange it in a more appealing way?

And in terms of the scan, yupyup, cleaning time! :O

(Oh, and don't forget your signature at the bottom. :) Or maybe I just can't see it. But yup, siggy's important.)"

Well, just in case you do wanna hear me say it again: I personally don't know where the scan originated from (the original setting), but from what I've read, it's a classroom, but ahha, even if I didn't know... I'd have to say that their formal wear and the great outdoors are like.. "Eh... Yes. Let's go hiking and get all sweaty and muddy and go see a business conference right after! :D" (hurhur :P) And yup.

Here goes:

I'm wondering how the wall would look without the sharp pink outline along the rectangular box in the background. Or maybe, instead of making the outline like a sharp pink glow, how about a solid smooth border except, with a lighter softer pink instead? And if manage to find that right shade of pale link, maybe use that as the outer glow the petals? Right now, my eyes are more focusing on that sharp glow rather than the petals and the character in the picture... and, that's not what you want. :P

Oh, and one big thing that I would REALLY prefer that you fix:
Spelling error. (Haha yes that does bug me, if there's text one wants to use on a graphic of some sort, always look it up in the dictionary or something if you're not sure on spelling. It's depressing to see something so beautiful but have an error in something that one would THINK wouldn't matter :O) Haha but yeah, that's just me. :)
Anyhow, it's "Sakura Petals" rather than "pedals" 'cause that's the one for say... Bicycle "pedals". xP And really, Sakura blossoms and bike pedals don't mix. :)

Anyhow. :D I'd say that was pretty good for me to have typed considering the level of my weariness. :) Lalala, looking forward to the update. :D"

My first wallpaper

"Hm, I like the idea. Not to be like, "too realistic", but I just want to see a wallpaper that's getting there, well, get there. :) See, right now, the moon has that uberduber outer glow sorta thing around its whole shape, while the sun is clearly to its left (if that is, the sun). And the moon has its respected shadow because of the light (nicely done). And this is where the conflict comes in. You might want to do something abou that glow where it fades out to where it's shady. Unless the sun's directly behind it, or in front of it (viewer's POV), the glow would be the way it is right now. However, (unless you move the lighting of the sun elsewhere, or even cut out the sun and make the light illuminate from the moon --though I prefer the latter) it's currently to the left of the moon, and to make it realistic, you might want to fade out the outer glow at its right. It'd look a bit like a quarter-moon. Yes, I look at the moon and stars too much on my free time. :) They're pretty, and I hope to see that beauty portrayed in your artwork. :)

I agree with what aznxenocide said about the missing lighting on the girl and the fields. (It'd add a whole lot more to the wall if you had some shading going on). ;) Also, what you can do about the white line on the girl (though it is just an idea), you can make some sort of a wavy luminous glow (whether encircling, or just flowing past her --like starry dust in the night air) along the white line so it'd give the wall a hint of "magical-feel". :) Well, it's a start. The rest is up to you to imagine and create. :)

And the font... I think a different font might suit this wall better. Something script-like, perhaps? :)

Otherwise, I'm interested to see how this wall turns out. :D"

Revamped Wall

"Hm... I'm fine with the character, but the his "shadow to the left"... I think the wall can do without that outline, or if you can find some sort of way to not make the outline seem so "out of nowhere" (maybe toggle around with the colours?, or having a darker shade even more to the left than the current shadow so its more defined), then the shadow wouldn't seem too awkward.

I'm liking the idea of buildings down there, but there's something about the concept of the window being open, but (oh lookit!) there's no depth! :O The buildings are 3D, but if you are trying to portry an "open window", which... goes through a building like a laser beam, leaving it completely empty on the inside and eerily strange... Hm, might want to adjust that a bit. (ie. put some depth as you did to the outer shape of the building inside the windows... or actually, I would even suggest colouring the windows different colours (no, not having some lime green and the other neon yellow), but different shades of grey, to show varied depth. :) It's a suggestion.

The words to the left. Think it's become clear enough as to how atrociously distracting that can be. Actually, because you have some quite defined lines from the "sun", I would suggest that you don't put a vertical box there (unless you manage to figure out a way to make the vertical and random diagonal lines passing through work out nicely --otherwise, off with the bolded box... I'm doubting this, but maybe the box can stay if the bolded outline was gone. Hm, I doubt it.) And if you really wanted the words to stay, you can always overlay some text behind "Music is the fire of the soul" while keeping it inside the white background.

Well, okay, there are many ways to arrange your ideas into something even better, but it's really all up to you. Just here to lend some of fuel. :D Summing it all up: be careful with the lines. :O Sounds useless, doesn't it. It's not easy to make random diagonals and bolded vertical boxes and whoo, some more horizontal boxes and-- yeah. Be careful. Either stick to a "one way" direction, or don't use such bold outlines to define each and every object, or... yeah. Lines, crazy things, aren't they. :)

Anyhow, keep it ups, I'm likin' the iPod. :)"

":D I loved aplastictree's idea to make the "file-type" wallpaper and the final product looks quite appleasing even for one who hasn't even heard of this anime/manga *sweatdrops*!

However, there is one thing that does bother me so... Those brushes you used, all the "tech"-like brushes, and the big splotch of swirlie-thing (pardon my lack of creativity on what to call that little flower-like brush --though I would prefer the wall actually without that brush since everything's already very.. "tech-ified" and I just feel that it's a bit sudden to have a grungy brush like that stick out at the centre. Now, back to what I was trying to say...) are from Aethereality.NET and if you really were to use the brushes in this wall, I think it is crucial that you input some sort of credit where appropriate on the wall itself. Maybe next to your username on the wall, you can slip something like "Brushes by Aethereality.NET" since, well, the brushes were from that site and it is only right for one's artwork to get credited to their respectful owners.

So yup. Otherwise, I did enjoy this wall. :) Just the lack of credit did tip me off a tad there... But that's an easy-fix. :) Hope to see an updated version soon!"

Could use some advice

"Okay, here goes! I've played Final Fantasy 8 before so I clearly know that womanizer hiding under that hat. ;) However... I do agree with the points mentioned in the previous posts. Because the picture is of him with his face 0% visible, it'd be best if you used that picture in a smaller size (it'll be easier for viewers to point out "who" or "what" is there -- currently, the picture is blown up to such a size with the lighting at a limit... and people are not quite able to see... him basically.) and arrange it in an appealing way (and maybe add some other pictures of Irvine --preferably with his face showing so we, as viewers, get an idea of who that sullen shape may be :P) or perhaps have that picture blended (well, of course) into a background (that you can design with originality). Many ways to alter this wallpapers and have it come out absolutely gorgeous --just gotta experiment (and maybe get a program that has even more options than the one you are using now). ;)

Oh and, I do like the text you chose since it really does fit him well! :)"

":O Wow, I really do like this wallpaper. Hah, you're right, I know very little (okay, none ._.) about this anime but after seeing this wallpaper, I feel quite interested... Gintama, is it? :)

Okok, about the wallpaper. Like others have already stated, The red to the blue is blended nicely (my favourite part out of this wallpaper actually. :P) And after looking through both walls, I felt that the sharpened version really... stood out to me. I like that more than the original. It has that "intense" sort of feel with the edges all "alert". :)

Oh! And I was amused with the first upside down "rehtegot gnid..." (hurhur :P) and the way the second one at the bottom just finished off nicely.

Okay, so it's all comments right now 'cause I really enjoyed looking at this wallpaper but if I were to give the little constructive criticism, it'd be the hair. :P (Oh, and about the brightness in fama-chan's post, I personally don't mind. But we all have varied tastes. :P)

On a final (and random, really) note, I was tempted to look at your site after seeing the wallpaper this pretty and I love the current layout (even though, again, I'm unfamiliar with the anime/manga the layout features). I'm a die-hard fan for livejournal-like anything. :D And that layout was simply.. wows. :)

"Mm, really do love DNAngel. =) I do like the idea of the repetitive "movie-like" images to the left of the wall, however, I think you might want to clean up the scan (it's a really big downfall in a wallpaper). Also... there's something about the background... the tiny-seemingly-beveled-grainy look on the background... I think the wall can do without that. Oh, and the huge inverted-colours image of the main scan, ee, there's something about the whole inverted-ness of the image that tips me off a bit... Oh, but I do like the inverted image of the movie-clip at the bottom right corner.

Ouran all the way! =D I also noticed there was a shortage of Ouran walls and I figured I'd contribute to that section! =) Haha now that you mention it, I really believe that I overdid it with the outline. xP And so I tried to feather out some parts of his hair (but then I realized I had already merged it and the PSD file for the wallpaper only had a merged version of the vector xP) Blahh.. ;__; (And thanks! =D I like the Renji avatar as well --lookin' tres smexayy ;))

~nelleah: Hikaru ! =) Haha I actually tried to fix that too, but ahh --everything's mergedd. ;__; Haha it does look kinda funny, doesn't it. =) I'll remember to work more on elbows for future vectors. ;) Hm, I'm not quite sure about the "shirt cut into arm" section (is it the left side of his shirt?). Oh! And I'll see if I can get some more resolutions for this wall after I come up with an absolute final copy. ^_^! I hope nothing gets stretched or pixelly...

Overall: I added more things to make up for the blandness of the wall (like both of you had mentioned) while still trying to keep it simple. =D I added an orange gradient to the top of the wall (floods a nice splash of orange for the eyes) while adding more little trinkets to get rid of the super duper empty white spaces. =D I changed the colour of the entire Hikaru vector so it goes more with the rest of the orangeyness of the background. And... Also extended the silhouettes of Hikaru and, yup! =) Do let me know if it's improved or what else I can fix! =)

First Vectored Wallpaper =)

"Okay then! To start off... Hi! =) I doubt most of you have heard about me since I didn't exactly introduce myself in the 'introduction' section of this forum, but... this isn't exactly about me anyhow. ^_^;; Maybe if my work gets decently good... -dreams- Just maybe. =) I'll do my best to provide the needed information so it would be easier any of you to help me in where I may have gone wrong (or areas in which I could fix ^_^). Also, I would appreciate it if even after looking at my wallpaper, that you still read what I have written below since there might be answers to some questions you may want to ask regarding the wallpaper. =)

Imageshack - destined's first vectored wallpaper: Unwell

Anyhow! To business -- my very first vectored wallpaper, titled "Unwell". Featuring Hikaru Hitachiin from the new (okay, fairly new -- first aired in April in Japan) anime series: Ouran High School Host Club. The whole thing started when I wanted to try vectoring since the results of a vectored low-resolution picture blew my mind. I just had to try it. o_o; So yup. =) Thanks to a tutorial on How to Vector posted in the Sticky section of Session Zero, I was able to vector a character (striking a pose which made it completely irresistable to experiment anything on, really ^_^;;). Just for the vectored Hikaru, it took me from 9am - 7pm; so... that's 10 hours. Phew. =/ I'm quite happy with the result however. =) (Though, like many vector-ers have stated... the eyes drove me crazy. xP)

Okay so, vector done! Then it was time to design the background of this soon-to-be smexy wallpaper. Haha. ;) And so, I decided to use orange since: Hikaru's pants were a brown-ish/orange-ish shade, Hikaru looks nice next to orange :), and... I like orange. However, I knew better than to choose some freakishly crazy neon orange that would blind the viewers... and I went with a nice pale orange with an occasional sharper tone. =) (I love colours. Who doesn't?) Overall, I was going for a simplistic background (which, at the same time, still maintained an eyecatching contrast). Okay so here's where the 'personal opinion for desktops' comes in. I personally always have my icons alligned on the left side of my screen (and I simply assumed that majority of the viewers also had most of their icons to the left), which is why I refrained from cluttering up most of the focal point towards the left. =) Eventually, I added some shadowing to Hikaru --a layer of white, and then orange. =) Just for... some 2D depth --which really doesn't make that much sense to me but, sounds good. ;)

Oh! And the text on the wall = song lyrics! (Whoo! Anyone know what the song is called and who sang it? Anyone... like the song? =D) I do! =) Lol. It's Matchbox 20 - Unwell! =D I was always (and still am) a crazy picky text-picker. I usually prefer to stick in some interesting song lyrics (that would blend well with the corresponding picture) and since Hikaru (Those who have watched the anime up to Episode 16 would know when this scene comes. ^_^;;) looks unhappy and misunderstood (In a way, yes, he was misunderstood actually), I recalled one of my old time favourites with the lyrics from the chorus. "I'm not crazy; I'm just a little unwell." ^_^ And of course, using up the remaining of my innovative juice for the day, I decorated the text in a manner where it's, again, eyecatchy and interesting, where it's simplistic and soft that the very same time. =)

Overall... I'm very pleased with the final product. I'm posting the wally here for any of you who are interested to comment for the fun of it, provide constructive criticism on how I can improve my wall (while keeping in mind that I am still aiming for a simplistic design), or simply bash it to death and break my little heart... (*sob* =) Really, if it does ever get to that point, I would muchly prefer constructive criticism thanks.)

To begin, I heard that if you dream, it means that you're technically not getting a "good night's rest" since you're not truly "sleeping" if your mind is still at work fulfilling one's heart's desires (yes to all you fangirls and fanboys out there, you know you want to be with your favourite manga character -laughs-), or freaking you out with your worst nightmares... =) Haha, sleep or no sleep, I Dreams. :) Yes, that's right, I'm a fangirl too --hey, on this site, who isn't? Don't start denying it fellow anime'ians. ;)

Haha okay well, I've been on these recent anime streaks and I got myself into watching the "currently airing in Japan" shows (I've been trying to avoid those since I usually have to wait a week for a new episode to be subbed) --so that means I have to be patient with Bleach and Ouran. -cries- And so yeahh... I've recently been having dreams of Bleach, and then of the lovely guys at Ouran High.

Highschool Sweethearts = old fashioned?

"Mm... To be honest, I have no absolute opinion on whether this is good or bad idea since like Voultner had stated, everyone's different and their situations might be different from others.

But if you're happy with what you have, what else is there to look for?

True. I remember hearing a friend of mine tell of a story about this woman who thought she had everything when she was with her boyfriend, until something happened between them and well... yes. She thought that she had lost her 'everything' and that there wasn't anything else that could replace what she had.

I think she was right, nothing could replace what she had. But nothing's stopping her of getting something better.

In the end, she found a new love that she eventually married and realized she had an even better life (with a better status that I don't recall right now...).

So... maybe you're just thinking "Uhh... What kind of relevance does this post have to my situation...", your mom was happy for you of course, but maybe she also wanted to look out for you (who wouldn't? ^_^) and really hope that you're... sure of what you've wanted! =D

Haha. Hope this post wasn't a completely pointless one... Moral? Love is all aroundd... (Irrelevance: 0%) xP

Population Boom

"Population growth; one of those interesting yet frightening topics. Remembering back to human geography... We're going to starve! Haha, I'm sorry, I hope none of you took that seriously. =) It's probably not something to joke about either since it's possible due to the immense increase in the world's population. When I was little, I used to think that the future would get brighter and brighter and we'd live to see hovering cars and robot maids-- Okay, maybe that was just the aftereffect of Jetsons. But I had hopes! =(
Okay okay, back on track. Now that more humans are infesting the earth (haha, I sound so selfish =P I'm a human myself, I have no right to say that others are taking away the air I breathe ._.), more land is used for residential purpose (they're building more apartments and townhouses across from where I live and the whole natural view is being taken away from me... =( Okay, haha, selfishness level rising again. ^__<;; But we all want what's best, really.) and as the streets get crowded and crowded... -gasps- The quality of life~! ...decreases. =(

Well, there goes one of my geography lessons taking over my mind again. All I can say is... "Jetsons gave little kids hope? --Only to have it ruined by scientific estimations"? Ahah, okay then. =)"

Windows Live messenger

I think something's wrong with this messenger. i can't sign in. it pops a window out saying, " Signing in to
Windows Live Messenger failed because the service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later. Error code: 8004888d."

Lol. That error isn't anything to be very worrisome over, so no worries. =) It really means what it said about the "service being temporarily unavailable." Sometimes this occurs either because MSN is just experiencing technical difficulties, or maybe your internet connection is just down. When that error appears with my msn, I usually just check with my bro to see if his internet is working (and usually by that time, it's not), so somehow he just magically fixes the internet (which I have no idea how to do whatsoever, sorry). But if you realize the error is not due to the lack of internet connection, then maybe MSN is just going under a little frenzy and all us MSN-users will just have to wait it out (or get an updated version if you realize that your version of MSN is outdated --usually goes by what startup program your computer uses) So yes, do "try again later" (and I don't mean just a few nanoseconds after, wait it out.) =)

Just remember it's not a huge "AHHOMGMYMSNWILLNEVERWORKAGAIN!!" thing to worry about and if you keep that in mind, then, yup! Good luck. Hope this helps. =)"

Fort Minor

"^_^ Definitely a Fort Minor fan. =) First song I'd heard from them was "Where'd You Go" and it was just one of those "Yeah, I like that song. :)" And then "Remember The Name" was playing on NBA and I was just blown away. O_O "10% luck, 20% skill, 15% concentrated power of will, 5% pleasure, 50% pain, and 100% to remember the name." ^_^ To be honest, my favourite part of LP was the rapping --which was done by no other than Mike Shinoda~ =) So yes, my friend eventually gave me the CD and I fell in love with "Believe Me" and "Petrified" as well. =) As some of you have said --that LP fans might be disappointed in the creation of Fort Minor, I sure wasn't! =) I agree with those who believe that their beat & lyrics are exceptional. Haha, or you know, maybe I'm just biased 'cause it's Mike Shinoda... Haha, who knows. =) Go Fort Minor! ^_^"
