This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Did anime help you to learn Japanese?
1 year 8 months ago
"I would say that watching anime has definitely motivated me to learn Japanese. I've managed to pick up a lot of basic stuff over the years from both watching anime and listening to tons of drama CDs (these are really helpful, since you're forced listen to the dialogue cause there's no visual), and now I'm trying to teach myself Japanese grammar and whatnot. Japanese grammar is quite confusing, and it'll take me a while to remember all the verb conjugations and verb forms, but if I hear one of these verbs conjugated I know what it means. I guess I have good listening skills.Plus, I've been wanting to read articles in Japanese magazines about the anime I follow as well as to understand what's written on the official Japanese website, so there's another motivation."

Do you think the anime getting licensed is losing quality?
1 year 8 months ago
"I think that fewer and fewer good-quality anime (of course, what's good-quality and what's not is very subjective) have been produced in Japan each year. And that's probably why it seems to you that anime companies are picking up lower quality anime, because there aren't too many of good quality to pick from. Plus, it's not like every single new anime out there has been licensed, and there's some among the unlicensed list that I think is good. Just wait and see what else the companies decide to get. That's my policy."View
SASUKE-KUN!!!

"I'm really far behind in the manga, but my friend tells me that Sasuke still hasn't shown up in the newest chapter yet. I'm a big Sasuke fan, so it's kinda annoying... I really want to see what he's like after 3 years! I mean, if Naruto became more Jiraiya and Sakura became more like Tsunade, then does that mean Sasuke became more like Orochimaru? That's a really scary thought right there..."View
Yakitate Japan!!

"I've read a lot more of the manga than I've seen of the anime, but they're both hilarious! I mean, who would have thougtht that a manga/anime about baking bread would be so interesting? It's true that the reactions are a bit extreme, but that's what makes the story interesting and keeps the reader/viewer hooked! "View
Mushishi

"The story is pretty slow, but it's very original and unique. I've never heard of or seen another anime with the same premise. The animation is interesting... At first I hated it, but after I got used to it, it was ok. I really need to catch up to the subs, though. I think I'm 7 or 8 episodes behind."View
Ouran High School Host Club

"I'm a newcomer to the Ouran world. I knew the manga was good because a lot of my friends are really into it, but I never really tried reading it. I was pleasantly surprised by the first episode. All the red/pink and the roses really threw me off for a little bit. The story moves at a fast but suitable pace and the character designs are great! The animation is very high quality as well. Ouran is my favorite out of all the anime airing (I've watched at least one episode of most of them already) and I'm really glad Lunar's subbing this so quickly!Only real problem I have is with the voice acting. It's decent, but I wish they had used the drama cast, with Suwabe Junichi as Kyoya and Midorikawa Hikaru as Tamaki..."

Hikaru no Go(anime+manga)
2 years 6 months ago
"I love Hikaru no Go (both the anime and manga)! It ranks very highly among my favorite anime/manga. I love everything baoaut it, even the go games. In fact, Hikago's inspired me to go and learn go myself (though I must say I'm not very good at all). I think Sai's disappearance was something that eventually would have to happen. Hikaru needed to be completely independent and act upon his own decisions instead of always depending on Sai. He definitely matures and grows up a little bit after Sai's disappearance. As for the ending, while I do think that it ended a bit too openly, I don't mind it. As much as I would have liked to see the circumstances in which Hikaru and Akira reach the Hand of God, I realize that it probably would take years to do and I don't think I would particularly want to see either of them too old.I really wish the Hokuto Cup arc would get animated, though. I love Kong Yongha (see my icon :D) and I think it'd be pretty cool to see him animated. For the past two New Year's I've been hoping for another Hikago New Year special, but alas, it wasn't meant to be and I ended up disappointed from the lack of anything Hikago.
The Hikago anime has some of the best background music I've heard. In fact, I liked them so much that I went out and bought both OSTs (they're the only OSTs I've bought for any anime). My favorite BGM has to be the one that plays when they're in the middle of a match (don't remember the title... ^^;;). As for theme songs, my favorite one is the first opening, "Get Over" by dream. I fell in love with it the first time I heard it and it just stuck with me. I'm also a big fan of the 1st ending ("Bokura no Bouken") and the 3rd opening ("Fantasy" by Katase Nana).
I am very unhappy with the way that Viz has handled the Hikago manga, however (haven't gotten a chance to get the 1st DVD yet). I hate how they use the first name of most of the characters, so when they called Tsutsui 'Kimihiro' I had no clue who they were talking about until a few pages later... Of course, I realize that VIz does this in all of their manga, so it's not just Hikago that has this problem. I'm still really annoyed by it, though. I would have to say it's worse in Prince of Tennis, though, since there's so many more characters there."

naruto's Sakura (do you like her or hate her???)
2 years 6 months ago
"I used to hate her because of how obsessed she was about Sasuke and how she was really weak and couldn't do anything when it came to fighting. In the recent manga chapters, however, my opinion of her has definitely improved. Now that she's taking healing lessons from Tsunade, she's a lot more capable than she started out being. I get the feeling that she's also matured a lot over the 3 years that the manga skipped. Now I can stand her, though she's still not in my list of favorite characters."View
Chairman Gil Dullindal: Thoughts and Opinions

"I never quite trusted him from the very beginning. He looked quite evil with that one look and his kinda evil looking smile. I do think that he is very persuasive, though, so that makes him a really good politician. I really don't like how he simply uses everybody around him, though. His past with Talia and Rey is kinda interesting, and I wish that there had been more focus on that in the seires."View
Best Music Ever!!!

"I don't think anybody's mentioned this yet, but I think Hikaru no Go definitely has one of the best soundtracks I've heard. It's one of the few that I would actually listen to by itself (I lose my interest in most soundtracks after the first few tracks). Certain songs from Noir and .hack//SIGN (and basically Kajiura Yuki in general) is really good as well and easy to get stuck in your head. As for actual openings and endings, I couldn't begin to name all the favorites I have... I'm really big on music."View
Chrno Crusade

"I wasn't too fond of Chrno Crusade until it stopped being so episodic and started having a continuous storyline throughout the series. It's definitely on my favorite anime list. Only complaint I have about it is that Aion was just too strong. They should have made him a little bit weaker. The ending was so sad though! I was really hoping that Rosette would be able to get together with her brother, Joshua, again, and live a peaceful life with Chrno. The scene where they showed the Rosette and Chrno together on the bench was extremely sad. They even died together..."View
Black Cat : New Aime Revised

"I really liked the manga and was looking forward to the anime when I heard it was going to be released. After watching the first ep, I was really disappointed since the anime storyline differed greatly from the manga. I continued feeling the same way for the next few eps. I recently watched 7-9 and started liking it a lot more after the anime storyline is getting closer to the manga's. Now I think it's a pretty good anime."View
