"If you have a lot of time to kill, try vectoring it. close ups are hard to get out of a scan. since it's just a face and a phone, it shouldn't take too long and you could add some extra details like the right hand. the background has enough going on to be interesting but not detract from the subject... good change from the first one."View

"Really cool idea. if it was me, i'd try to make the sword more apparent, but that may be tough to do with a scan and not a vector. the shadowing looks cool, but a clean wall might be pretty cool with only one figure. instead of the noise on the bottom of the text, it might look good if it fades into the white line. i'm not really a fan of the glow around ichigo. did he look bad just placed on the background?"View

"Very cool. you said the wall has already been submitted? did they send you a PM saying why it was rejected before they sent you here? if so, what did it say?if you haven't already submitted, it looks pretty good how it is now and changing anything from this point will probably require vectoring and much more work/time... try submitting it and see what they say. if they reject it they usually send a personal message telling you why it was rejected."

"Ok, this is my second wall and i wanted to do a Cowboy Bebop wall - and since i finished the series years ago and still listen to the sound track, i thought a music-related scene would be appropriate.
i vectored spike from this scan by ^nat, so thanks nat. the guy on the piano is frank hewitt (he's really good if you ever find an album) and was vectored from this image i found on google (but i don't have the site anymore to reference it). the walls, ceiling and floor were done on photoshop thanks to some internet tutorials. the cotton club is a real jazz club in new york that was started by boxer jack johnson and may be where the bebop sound started (but who knows - tell your friends it was, it'll make you sound smart). so the sign is a vector from their website. the only things that weren't vectored or made in photoshop were the three pictures on the wall... they came from deviantart. there will be some text on there eventually, but on my first wall i was told to do the text at the very end.
anyway, this is my first 3D-ish wall and since you guys are all so good at picking apart walls, i was hoping someone could tell me what needs to be fixed. i'd appreciate any comment you have. tear it apart.

"I like the change. he looks better on the left than in the middle, even though it left you with some dead space on the right.i use illustrator to vector and then export it into photoshop to piece all the vectors together. i actually prefer illustrator to photoshop, it's just that photoshop has more bells and whistles. if you know of a way to get both (legally, of course), that would be ideal."

"Can't say i ever watched the show and i can't find any scans or google pics of the inside of the ship. if you have episodes on your computer, you could do a screen capture of a scene you want for the background. it doesn't come out in scan quality, but if you're vectoring it afterwards you'll be fine."View

"Maybe you could give vectoring a shot? it takes forever, but you have much more control over the image, so in the end it will look better.it's a cool manga pic and great idea. everything looks a little pixelated and i'm not really a fan of the brush you used to make some "noise" on the right side of the image. the sky looks pretty good."

"It's a good start, but it seems a little simple. i've never watched Saiyuki (that is what it's from, right?), so maybe the simplicity is appropriate, but a background might make it a little more eye-catching. the blood splatter on the right looks really cool, but it seems a little out of place on his face... maybe because it's more in focus than he is. is the blood supposed to be on him or splattered across a picture of him?"View

"Vectoring takes forever. just keep the faith man...not much to say that hasn't already been said. the two most recently vectored suits don't look at cool at Matsumoto's (the girl on the right). maybe you could do something unique with them too. and there are a couple of extra things that could look cool in there like the necklace Matsumoto was wearing or the beads on Yoruichi's suit. the skin looks good with the highlights and all. good start."

"It seems like there's no focal point in the wall. the only thing that can be easily seen is the hair at the top of her head, so that is where my eye is drawn - and the hair is not really the point of the wall. would it be possible to make some other part of the shot a little darker/better defined?it looks really cool with everything fading out into the background. and the subject and background colors work really well. nice wall."

"Here's how to survive:-write down the top 6 most important things in your life and give them numbers... anime(1), drinking(2), girls(3), sleeping(4), eating(5), school(6).
-get a dice... roll the dice... or is it die if it's just one?... anyway, roll it and whatever number comes up, do the activity that cooresponds to the number before you watch anime.
-so if you roll a 5, eat something then watch some anime.
-if you roll a 4, take a nap then watch anime.
-if you roll a 1, you have a marathon anime day, so you may want to try to re-roll and get a 4 first.
-if you roll a 6, bad luck, but it's necessary.

"Wow... nice wall. i'm really new at this, but it seems the stars on the character are out of place. i like the stardust idea, but could it look like it's flowing out/away/around the lyre instead of just having random stars there? it's just that there are all those stars at the bottom right, making it look like it is off in the distance, but then they're also infront of her. that's the only thing i'd change. it looks really good. "I consider everything you say fullmetal... my life hangs on your every word. ;)here is what i consider the final version. do you think it's ready to be submitted?
-it has a darker moon
-dark blue sky and not black
-i made up some clouds for it by blurring some shapes instead of using the clouds pattern. i don't think they look like fire/smoke, like the old clouds
-i tried everything i could to make her look shadowed and not tanned. not sure if that worked or not
-i looked at putting an opaque image of something in the sky, but i couldn't get it to come out looking good... it seemed like there was too much going on. i also had trouble making the sky image fit with the rest of the pic. it seemed out of place
does the text look ok to you? i gave it an outer glow that is the same as the fireflies. it seemed to mesh pretty well to me.
thank you all for the help/advice. i'm sure it'll get rejected, but do the mods comment when they reject walls so i'll know what they don't like? by the way, i'll wait to submit it until i hear back from someone that it at least wont waste the mod's time.

"ok... here it is, complete with moon, glowing fireflies and about 30 gradients. everything a wallpaper-lover could ask for. so what more does it need? maybe the moon's too bright. maybe a green/grass colored gradient close to the ground on rukia. hmm... i'll take any suggestions you want to dish out.
if it counts, it's my wallpaper right now. i haven't been accepted on AP, but i've been accepted on my computer."
