How do you handle stress?

"I like to shut the door and lie down for half an hour with music. ^^ I don't get stressed or mad easily, but there's always one of those horrible days. I'm pretty good with it though. If I've time, I listen to music, and if I don't, then a bit of chocolate will do. >_<"

are women are more materialistic than men?

"I'd say it depends on individuals, but generally we see women as being more materialistic than men because they're the ones going shopping, buying clothes and so on. However, looking at my parents, I'd say our views may be biased because of what males and females buy. My dad's the materialistic one (in a sense) who likes to buy all these fishing gear and this and that. My mum, well... she gets materialistic too sometimes. It's just what they buy. Females like to shop in malls in general, men tend to go to a fishing store or a sports stores. We see people as being materialistic when they go to shopping malls all the time. I don't think materialism relies heavily on gender but more on personality. Each gender has things they like and it's not a male and female thing, but more on individual differences (in my opinion anyway)."

"No i don't cheat. i do well enough without cheating.
besides, our exams are different to that in US so it's almost impossible to cheat.
all our answers are like a paragraph each.
they separate our desks about 2 metres apart so i can't see anyway. =_="

eating/diets

"Well, i'm not a big diet fan but my familiy's into really healthy diet and i'll just tell you a few things that i know of...

lots of veges, fruit and less fast food is the basics.

eating three times a day at a set time, with set amount of food (that is equal amount of food three times a day at specific time) is apparently how you should eat... but it's not that easy eh?

on top of that, exercise, low GI food's quite good, wholemeal instead of white bread etc etc should improve your diet.
and yes, apparently spicy food does help with metab, BUT spicy, salty, sweet food in larger quantities damage your stomach BADLY in forms of ulcers and gastritis, so you should avoid excessively spicy or sweet or salty food - just occasionally, but not daily."

"I'm a sorta gardener, but i don't garden often because of time.

i did horticulture at school last year at school so i know bit of this and that to keep my garden nice and healthy.
i occasionally water the garden and weed (i used to truthfully... =_=) and i tell my dad to get the right herbicide xD

at the moment, gardening is a big no-no for me coz i've kinda bad hay fever and i'd rather not expose myself to extra pollen than there already is. ^^""

What programs do you use for graphics and website making?

"Well, I use Photoshop 7 most of the time, because it's what i've got.
I also started using Illustrator for vectors and I occasionally use Terragen - it's FREE! xD xD xD
i would love to learn to use Flash and Dreamweaver but I've no idea where to start.
I still can't webdesign and i've long way to come even close to mastering PS7 *sighs*"

tell you what. truthfully, i'm not that worried about the long term stuff coz i won't be around to see the sun go crazy and 'absorb' the earth. xD
what i'm really worried about is the major earthquake that's suppose to hit NZ in the next few years.

i suppose all the natural disasters are the way of nature to get us pay for what we've done to it in the past. ozone layer (although it is recovering so i've heard somewhere), pollution etc etc. we gotta pay the price sometime for our exploitations.

Are you in a potential natural disaster zone?

"I just had these natural disaster related threads pop up to me this morning as I watched the news.

So, is the area you live in safe from natural disasters? Are you aware of the sudden dangers that exist around you?
Obviously, Florida, New Orleans, Mexico and other parts of the world are not.
We've had major hurricanes, earthquakes and tsunamis this year which have caused many deaths. Where you are, could possibly next.

New Zealand is not a natural disaster free country. Although we don't have massive hurricanes like America, we've other stuff to worry about. We lie between two tectonic plates that causes earthquakes here and there everyday, and we're expecting a major earthquake within the next few years. We've got live and dormant volcanoes here and there (mostly North Island).

So, are YOU aware of the dangers around you? How bad do you think you'll be affected in the case of a sudden natural disaster?"

We've had the Boxing Day (Dec 26th) Tsunami, Hurricane Katrina, Rita, Wilma, earthquake in Pakistan etc etc.
There have been thousands of deaths and injured people throughout the world.

It seems to me that this year in particular, we've had more natural disasters and damages from them than more than any other years that I can recall.

In New Zealand, where I live, we've had snow in the middle of spring, mini hurricanes which we never get.

So, what is your opinion on all these natural disasters? Is it just a random freak of nature, or is the world coming to an end? Perhaps it is the Apocalypse. What do you think?"

"If it's at night, i go to bed. But during the day, i do other stuff. I'm a really bad napper and can't nap during the day for some reason.

Quite often i might get a drink of cold water or wash my face. Cold water does the thing ^^
I suppose playing games on the computer or PS2 also does the trick."

"It's really funny how i think about these supernatural stuff.

In my head, I think that they don't exist (I sometimes justify everything with science, if it doesn't make sense scientifically, then often, i don't believe in it. xD).

But, what's weird is that sometimes, I believe in spirits and things, even if I have never seen it, because when i want something desperately, i seem to try and 'pray' to my dead grandpa.

i'm not into make-ups at all. i hate them coz i'm so lazy that i don't like washing them off later xD xD xD
anywayz, i don't personally have any make-up of my own, but my mum makes me use a bit of her foundation when i go out (yes, she MAKES me). it just helps me to look more natural (my cheeks are pink and get red really really easily).

i prefer people who don't wear so much make-up. i find that it hides your real self. ^^
i've seen kids at school who wear mascaras and all that and they look really bad. it's a wonder that teachers don't say anything about them. *sighs*"

"Well i can tell you a few things, but you've probably heard this already.

* look at the cover/back and read the 'blurb'
* look at the images. see if you like the look of it
* read reviews and ratings on the net. there are heaps lying around on the net
* a really simple indication is to check the scan section. usually, the ones that have heaps and heaps of scans are really popular ones - you see, more people have seen it, so they like the scans as a result of it
* ask people who's see heaps of anime.

these are just some things you could use/look at."

anywayz, me and my talents...i'd also like to be humble but meh. this thread's not gonna let you do that eh?

I'd say I shine when it comes to academic stuff since I do quite well at school. I generally do well in all subjects but do exceptionally well in maths and science subjects. I'm not too bad at Japanese either.

There's also my artistic side i suppose. I've always luved drawing and doing little design things. i guess that's why i got sucked up into anime and walling xP

on the contrary.. i suck at sports. most sports in fact.
being a lazy-bum, i'm not that flash at sports that require lots of movement. but i used to do softball and this year, i did rifle shooting (and i found out that i'm not too shabby at all! xD). unlike eso, euna ish useless at dancing >___<

yeah. people have these special talents they are sorta born with i suppose.
it's just something that makes us all unique i suppose. ^^"

for someone 'quiet' like me, i prefer anime music, j-pop, k-pop and occasionally classical.
some rap music i think are bad influence, if you can actually catch the words, but some have messages in them and others sometimes seem to have little purpose.
