What will u do if your girlfriend/ boyfriend hate anime??
1 year 8 months ago
"If it would help some, I was just in the same predicament for the past three and a half years. I recently broke off a serious, long-term relationship with my first love after that period of time. Call it incompatibility, a falling out, feeling comfortable/safe rather than in love anymore; it doesn't matter really.I've always been into anime and gaming, as well as computer programming, hardware, software, etc; hobbies my ex and I definately did not share which I found annoying and hard to deal with because I couldn't connect any of the things I loved doing to our relationship. By all means please understand that our relationship did not end just because of that. Yet, her lack of understanding or compassion for most of my hobbies and likes definately contributed. It's hard for someone to understand the likes and dislikes of another if it's not something they are used to, or introduced to by any means.
If you're with someone who's not into anime or something similar, try to introduce it to them, tell them what it is that you like about it, and communicate your feelings. I didn't do that for a long time. My watching anime/movies (that we didn't share in common), or being the computer programming or researching etc, which were things that when I did them in front of her or around her, she felt out of touch, lacking in understanding and would shy away from me at most. I just sooner or later realized that neither of us were going to change for the other.
At least introduce the one you care about to your hobbies even though you might be embarassed or scared that they might not like those hobbies. It's better than taking no action at all. No matter the outcome, you've opened yourself up to that person, and you can do no more than that. Once you've laid your cards out on the table it's up to them to decide whether or not they find your relationship important enough to respect and/or show interest in the things that you do."

"Sigh... flame on I guess. Your elitist attitude is ridiculous and a waste of time. You're actually the one who picked my post apart piece by piece, assumed that I recommended a sound system that you didn't particularly like which I didn't recommend and don't personally recommend anyways. So, you tell me who's angry... hrm? I was stating that there's one in my home. I haven't demonstrated any real knowledge yet? I have nothing to prove to you, or anyone else on this forum. He needed help, and the information I provided was factual, not opinionated.Do you read at all? These terms are usually used synonimously with each other... Just to help you out a bit a medium is something in which intercommunication is possible. Be it a person between two people, or a wire connecting a computer to a computer, or a computer to a hrm... sound system? The connection type describes the medium being used. Thus logically I can describe the type of connection a particular medium might be using without having to describe that I'm actually talking about a connection type. Don't test me.
RCA is single-ended audio. Composite video can be made through an RCA connection, that's how most of your household videogame consols produce sound and video on your TV at home. >.<
For you to tell me that I'm misinformed is ridiculous as well. The sound systems you're describing are very expensive, thus logically the technology they use (digital ins/outs, SPDIF, etc)
according to modern technological definition. He's looking to spend 450-600 dollars on a sound system. The pricing of the systems you seem to be posting sound to me that they might be a little more expensive than that. I don't care about how smart you are, show some respect for everyone who posts. Not just yourself. I'm a CS major as well just incase you decide to test my knowledge again.
Again RetroXi, apologies for turning your topic into an arena. :D"

"First of all, I wasn't recommending or de-recommending a Bose system. I was mainly stating that I had one, and that most 5-6.1 systems have multiple outs for use with more than one input. So before you accuse someeone of being trustworthy or not, you should re-read what it is that someone is posting.
We're only talking about audio? That's all fine and good, and that's why I posted. RCA doesn't specify video. The post about RCA was to tell $RetroXi that it's the most common form of AV medium. The purpose of S-Video to RCA explanation was to tell $RetroXi that the possibility of conversion from most mediums to another is usually probable.
Lol, are you getting the wrong picture here? We're posting to help this dude out... It's not about your opinion about anything. Also like I had already previously stated the statement did not refer to a Bost reccommendation. I AM NOT RECOMMENDING NOR AM I BASHING BOSE. I hope that makes you feel better, because you sounded pretty offended by that. Not that being offended about a certain product really makes any sense. You obviously missed my point. Lol, do you sell or advertise for an opposing company? >.< Because that's how offended you sound.
Sometimes people ask because they don't know where to look. Do you think he asks because he wants someone else to do everything for him? Lol, it doesn't even matter... You sound like a disgruntled parent. I was merely pointing him towards factual information. The topic here isn't for your ridiculous banter about how much you hate a particular sound system. Help point him in the right direction. It feels better, and you learn more when you do something by yourself. And next time... don't be such an asshole. o.O"

Uh oh... o.O Do you believe in luck?
2 years 7 months ago
"Wow, there are a lot more people that don't believe in luck/superstition than I thought there would be. To me, it's a waste of time. Added stress on my life that I probably don't need. It's funny though, sometimes when I'm talking to someone, we talk about driving and tickets and accidents. And I'll say, "I've never been into a car accident, and I've never gotten myself a ticket." After I say that people usually respond with, "Ohhhhhh knock on wood or you're going to get into one!" I never do, and I still don't get into accidents. Now it's true, even if you're the best driver out there, the person next to you isn't going to be. So no matter how good of a driver you are, you can't really avoid all accidents. But I guess for the last 4 1/2 years, I've been doing a pretty good job (without knocking on wood...). XD"View
Uh oh... o.O Do you believe in luck?

"I just posted my last reply to a sound forum. I was about to go to bed and I noticed how many papers I had. My last forum post gave me a total of six-hundred and sixty-six papers. don't DUN DUNNNNNNN... >.< I never really believed in luck, I guess that I'm moderately religious, and not really superstitious at all either. But there was always one thing that bothered me. 666. Let me tell you, for how much I don't believe in luck/superstition, that number pops up in front of me like a bad f****** habit. If someone who had seen/come across that number as much as I had were very superstitious or felt that luck had played a greater role in their life than I did, they'd probably start digging their own grave. Replies, comments, opinions, stories, etc. Fill this topic up! :D:D"View

"You can do it many ways. But connecting multiple computers depends on the components in your stereo system. For example, on a Bose Lifestyle five-speaker surround sound stereo system, you can connect about four different components to one system. RCA cables are usually the most popular among common video/audio technology. Digital outs are less common, but you can find them usually. If your computer has an S-Video out, you can actually find an S-Video to RCA audio converter, and then hook it up that way. Basically, it all depends on the input installed into your sound producing equipment, and the output that the components sending sound data have. Just take a look at the back of your computer(s) and then take a look at the back of your sound system. That website should be a GREAT help. Has easy definitions of most of the component cables with their respectable input/outputs and even cute lil' pictures of wires respectively. Have fun and read up! :D"

"I can't remember how many times I changed how many things I wanted to be when I was younger. I used to want to write, be a veterinarian, a doctor, a police officer. For a while I really wanted to get into "making videogames" (videogame programmer). Funny how some things change and some don't though: I'm in my fourth year of college having changed my major four times. Psychology, sociology, criminal justice, and presently Computer Science. I don't plan on changing again. I feel that computer science is my true passion. But to write code and design games in reality is a long shot. They say that the only thing harder than getting into the gaming entertainment industry is getting into hollywood... Yikes."View
What is your bad habit(S)?
2 years 7 months ago
"I think my worst bad habits come out in my relationship with my girlfriend. Sometimes I don't have the patience to communicate with her. So, I feel like she should know what I'm talking about even though I haven't really explained it yet. But of course, we know that this is sometimes impossible. But when it happens I throw a fuss and act like she's the one who's stupid. It's an impulse. I guess sometimes my bad habit is that I'm impulsive. "View
How you deal with peer pressure
2 years 7 months ago
"Peer pressure is so much an illustion. Yet then again, maybe that's why so many people are drawn in. I don't mean to offend anyone, but when I was very young (elementary school years), I used to not really have any friends: I was a class clown, a whiner, a cryer, and I used to start so much trouble just to get attention whether good or bad. Typical "loner" attitude etc. As I grew older my behavior improved because I was so caught up in changing that image of myself. Whether or not it was a good thing is still to be determined. But being so, "un-cool", peer pressure knocked on my door countless times. The thing is, when pressured, I really wanted to do the things I was pressured to do so much just to make myself look good. I never did though. Something in the back of my head said "no". I used to have to fight with myself over succumbing to pressure or walking away. And it was funny too, because outloud to convince myself, I would say to those around me, "No way man! I don't give into peer pressure! *HRMPH!* Lol, "cool kids" only laughed at that more. But as time went by, I kept just saying no, even though I really wanted to. So nowadays, it's a total habit. I'm used to saying no to shit like that. If I feel pressured I think it's instinct to just step back and think no at first, and then asses the situation later. Screw peer pressure. No one pressures me."View
Have good manners? What are your thoughts about it?
2 years 7 months ago
"Exactly. Even before reading the last post I thought the same exact thing. It really is relative and it depends on context. In a certain environment one may think exceptional manners are such quality attributes. While in another context, one may take offense. Generally though, it is good to have manners to a certain extenct. Yet being adaptive based on context/environment is a must."

Proving someones strength
2 years 7 months ago
"I believe strength is all of the things that have been mentioned together in sum. It's mind, body and heart. Unification of these show strength and wisdom. But the question here is: "Proving someone's strength." Who's to judge? There is always someone stronger than the next. Prove your strength when you feel the time is right to do so. Prove it to yourself. That sounds really cheesy, but, if I have ever reached an inner catharsis with myself (rare occurance XD) I kind of feel like I don't really have anything to prove to anyone else. Just being myself and using what I have will, in the long run, prove itself to those who find it necessary. :D"View
The Female Gender! ^_^
2 years 7 months ago
"It's really not like any of that at all... Men understand women. They know what they do, they know when they're going to get mad, they know more or less what makes THEIR woman, or what might make A woman happy. They know what makes them cry. They know how to talk to a woman. (For those of you who don't know... just talk to a woman like they're a person, not a big bag of sexual enuendos... XD) It's simple. Just like it's simple for a woman to know a man, know how to talk to a man. You make girlfriends the same way you make guy friends. If a girl doesn't think you have anything in common with them, they're not going to take the next step, maybe not even be friends with you. Same thing when you're talking to a guy. If they feel they dont' share anything in common with you at all, they probably won't be your friend either. Everyone's been on both sides of either spectrum. The answer to why people may think "Men don't understand women,"? Easy. Some don't want to. :D"

ARE you willing to buy a PS3?
2 years 7 months ago
"I really hate waiting to buy anything new though, especially when it comes to videogame technology. It sucks that I'm going to have to wait for a couple months after the PS3 comes out. I'll probably end up buying it unless something totally drastic happens to it in the market. But the best plan? Wait. I'm probably not going to get one when it comes out because something smells very fishy about the Nintendo Wii (formerly the Nintendo Revolution). If anyone's had the chance to check out the E3 updates at Sony, Nintendo, Square-Enix, etc. there's a lot of stuff that they're saying about all three consols, both good and bad. I don't know for sure, but, this generation of gaming feels like it's either going to take a turn for the absolute best or an unbelievable turn for the worst! Yikes, let's see what happens!"View
ARE you willing to buy a PS3?

"My apologies, I need to correct myself. http://www.e3insider.com/news/?articleID=9I175LI0IO. That's the real price for the PS3, official from an E3 press release. *sigh* That's a bit spiky for pricing in my eyes. Anyways, everyone posting on this forum has my apologies for posting such outdated information. That E3 press release info should probably be the best you can get. Check it out. Official pics, the REAL controller, etc."View
Any die-hard Tekken/Soul Calibur fans here?
2 years 8 months ago
"I've been playing Tekken since Tekken 1, be it on consol or in the arcade. Ever since Tekken 3, it's been by far (in my eyes) the most in depth fighting game I've ever seen. No matter what character I play as, or play against, I see some new combo/ fight plan that I haven't seen before. Some characters even have over 100 moves. And yes, while most of those moves are chained with a previous moves it still adds up. The direct fighting aspect of the game seems to offer so much more in playability and diversity than most games out there... No offense but maybe that's why I feel like no one plays it :D. Favorite characters: Jin, Asuka, Kazuya and Hwaorang (as of Tekken 5). I just wish they started going online with it. *cry*"View

"With a starting price like that, IF that's the starting price, I'll definately buy a PS3. On top of that, has anyone researched the new IBM/Toshiba processor that they are putting inside the PS3? For anyone that's a computer buff, it's some yummy goodness."

"Hey everyone, the name's Rich, new poster here. I believe the 'Motherboard' forum would be very useful, but, being a computer science major in school, I might have a pretty good idea. Make a technical aspects forum for people who don't necessarilly understand all the technical specs on creating walls, using ratio aspects, certain types of hardware and or software one might need to create, modify, view walls properly, etc. Because this is an art-based website/database, keep the topic fresh. :D Hope to see everyone around!"View
