"Something i got from ignNovember 16, 2006 - It was clear that the cost of producing PS3 units were high for Sony, forcing the company to charge $600 per unit, but now we know exactly how high. Next-gen.biz has offered a full analysis of Sony's expenses. As it turns out, Sony is losing $306.85 for each 20GB system sold and $241.35 for every 60GB system.
The full production cost for a 20GB system is a whopping $805.85, with the 60 GB coming in at $840.35. Chief among the expenses are the RSX graphics chip at $129 and the Blu-Ray optical drive at $125. In contrast, the $400 Xbox 360 only costs $323.30. For the first time in its five-year console publishing history, Microsoft is making a profit on each system sold.
For those wondering about retailers, it should be noted that stores make almost no money selling consoles. Retailers such as EB Games and Wal-Mart make money on software and peripheral sales.
The steep cost of producing PS3s won't last forever. In general, the longer an item is produced, the cheaper it becomes to manufacture. Over time, the cost of the PS3 will get lower as the cost of parts gets cheaper and production becomes more efficient. That doesn't guarantee Sony will ever make a profit on selling the system alone, but it can still bank on earning a hefty paycheck from software sales and digital downloads.
The bottom line is that no matter what it costs Sony to make one, you only have to pay $600 to own it. In that sense, you're getting a hell of a bargain when you purchase a PS3."

lets see how well they can do when they dont even have that going for themselves anymore

"Well heres is where i stand when i first came to thsi country icame here illegaly ( i was about 5 years old and dint realy have a choice in the matter)
but i have grown up here and live here most of my life my hopes dreams and asperations are things that i wish to acomplish here and not in mexico and i have worked hard for every thing i have from an extreamly young age. but as much as i care about my on people i was quite upset as the way they handeld them selfs early on in their protest realys
(eraly on there marches where poorly organize and where made up of hispanice people wave around for flags and saying where not going any where)
if i where to look at this from a normal americans citizez view then im sure that to them these is send out the wrong message
to them this may look like and army of invaders coming in and saying hey where here we have our on culture and our own countyr and thow we may work here you cant take our culture and love for our country away from us. and by waving around a foren flag they arnt showing the american people that they truly want to belong here. thast why im glad lulac step in and tryied to correct some of these mistakes in the hispance protesting community
and i can understand both sides
and the issue isnt just jobs that have so many people enraged there is also the langue issue
their are those that feel that its not right to have to acomedate those who to them have no right to be here in the first place in the school sector(esl class), bussiness (job aplicatins right in spanish) and many other forms of documentaions. there are those whoes main grip is that they feel that the hispanic comunity isnt trying hard enough to learn english and instead they are having to learn spanish so that they can get jobs.
to this i say that yes we do need to put more of an effort in trying to learn the english langue and accpeting and impracing the american way of life. to me if you want to love mexico so much go live in mexico but if you want to live here then dont just live here love this country and do the best you can to learn teh customs and languge of what you should be calling your new home and not just a tempery place of residnece."
